"We're a couple in the late 30s on a weekend from Boston. We are not strangers for Italian food and the fine culinary experience. The positives about Bar Primi: good moods and energy when you go in, lighting was not too bright, not too dark, service with Rebecca was wonderful. We were not sure what wine is to choose and they made great recommendations based on listening to our taste preferences. Everyone from the hostess to the waiter who filled our water was so warm and friendly!! Challenges: We found food as a note. For a place at this price we expected a little more. We ordered the beds, filled meatballs and rice balls for appetizers and then the Agnolotti and vodka sauce and ink campanelle with crab for our entrees. The best dish from all these was the filled meatballs, soft food of sauce and delicious. The rice balls were “ok” and the beets were not high. The beet tasted like beet with shrimps above. Wish we had more fat or acid to give it some depth. Our pastas were to Al Dente for our joy. I wanted more soft texture in my Agnolotti. Vodka Sauce was good, but not enough on the record. The squid ink pasta tasted very crabs forward and needed so much more sauce to marry the flavors. Drinks were okay. Definitely for what you are given. We spent about $200 at night on five plates, 2 glasses of wine and a cocktail. This may be normal for New York standards, but we have the feeling that it was not worth the cost. Rated the service and energy so much, but was not impressed by the food with the first impression."
