"My 49-year-old boyfriend is visiting from Ireland, and unfortunately, he was denied entry because he only had his Irish ID. According to the regulations, proof of age is only required if someone looks under 26, and it is clear that he does not. Additionally, immigration status is a protected class, and the DMV recognizes an Irish ID as valid identification for up to four months after arriving in the U.S. This situation is unacceptable and feels like outright discrimination. I have enjoyed this bar in the past, but I would advise anyone who values immigrants to refrain from visiting in protest of this unjust and illegal policy."
