"Unfortunately, my experience was very unimpressive. I came on Sunday for their bottomless brunch buffet and bottomless mimosas. Bottomless brunch buffet is $34/pp and the bottomless mimosas are an additional $12/pp. I had been wanting to try Jerk N Jive since I moved to Maryland 3 years ago, but their prices always threw me off. I figured the bottomless brunch was a good opportunity to give them a try (I was drawn in by the bottomless mimosas since there's only one other place I know in Frederick that offers that lol . Walking in to the place, I was pleasantly surprised with the vibe. It's a lot nicer than I was expecting. Not fancy by any means, but not casual or hole in the wall. It looks clean and it's not too noisy. Average noise level at most. Our server was very attentive. He checked on us several times throughout our time there. It was not very busy when we got there (11am Sunday and didn't get too much busier while we were there. Now to the food: very unimpressive!!! I was actually quite disappointed with the buffet food. It seemed to be kept warm not hot, so by the time you got to your seat your food was cold already. With the cost of the buffet, I was expecting so much more. For what you get, it seemed more like a $20 buffet than a $34 one! I tried the curry chicken (was good! , the peas and rice (not bad , sausage and bacon (O-K , gravy (not warm/hot enough!!! It was O-K , jerk salmon (needed more flavor, kinda bland , waffle (AMAZING! , French toast (meh , fried chicken (very bland , and an omelet from the omelet station (MEH! Too eggy for me considering the toppings ratio. Maybe I should've asked for a little less egg . The bottomless mimosas comes with a flavor you choose and they just bring you a bottle. I chose strawberry so they gave me a bottle of champagne and strawberry syrup. I had to pour it and mix it myself. Overall, my favorite things here were the curry chicken and the waffles!! Not even the mimosa made anything better. I'm glad I tried it but I don't think I'll be back. I think it's overpriced for the quality you actually get. I feel like you pay just as much as Dutch's Daughter for lesser quality presentation and food. I love a great bottomless brunch, especially mimosas! They would've had me as a returning customer had it been on point."

"I’ve always heard good things about this place but it’s a little ways out for me to get to. Today I wanted some jerk pork and saw they delivered via Uber Eats. After waiting approx 90 minutes and paying $92. The food arrived and it turned out to be such a disappointment. The jerk pork was super salty, It was difficult to consume it. The rice and peas (without any pea, not even one) was hard (rice grains was stiff) and didn’t even have any sauce or gravy to accompany it. The best thing was the plantains. The mac and cheese, hmm never seen Caribbean mac and cheese done in this style before. Sad to say the Jerk Pit ain’t for me. In response to the owners reply: Evidently there is a known issue with your Jerk Pork dish being way too salty. Just take a glance down the review page to everyone who has ordered this dish. You will find a reoccurring theme of Jerk pork being way too salty. Instead of making excuses, just access the seasoning or the preparation of the dish and make the necessary adjustments. Why would everyone who ordered this dish leave the same comment. We do not know each other. Also we ordered at different times. Some years and months ago. I purchase the 2 platers for my mom and I. My mom even called to ask if I wanted to raise her blood pressure with the salty food. I have no reason to lie to you or on your dishes. It’s still uneaten hours after delivery. I do however appreciate you taking time to respond tho. It shows you care. Best of luck to you too. Like I said before, I’ve heard lots of good things about your establishment, which is why I had no vice spending $92 on two jerk platters and some juices. Esp since I’m a Guyanese and can prepare all these myself."

"Celebrated my husband’s birthday weekend here! My husband is from Jamaica. So what he says about the place really makes it authentic! We came to their Saturday brunch. Drinks were really good! The rum punch was strong with a nice fruity flavor. Started off w plantain for an appetizer and the jerk wings. The jerk wings flavor was really good. It shows because I didn’t take a picture before digging in. My husband ordered Jamaica’s National dish of Ackee and Saltfish. I ordered the brown stew chicken. He really loved the Ackee and saltfish. He rated it a 10. However, he wish it came with double the sides because it was a lot of Ackee to the dumplings and banana etc. so we ordered extra sides to go. The brown stew was so tender! I wish they gave more rice and peas to the dish, but overall it was fine. I wasn’t a fan of the cabbage. The brunch was supposed to have live band but I was told a DJ would be here instead. The DJ was running extremely late so we didn’t get to hear much of his music. The atmosphere was beautiful with it being an old firehouse. The bathrooms are upstairs….A LOT of stairs. It’s not handicap friendly not having an elevator or at least I didn’t see one. It’s rather large upstairs when you do go up. Overall service was nice. It’s a little slow if you’re not use to island time haha. But I’ve adjusted to that now."

"where I start for this 5 star rating. the food itself would have come very close to a 5 but it was the hospitable ruthie offered us, which puts it over the top! She treated us like a family from the moment when she came out of the kitchen, especially our son, the extra special attention to him by preparing fresh juices to try. to do one of their personal favorites, she says. he had the left and sorrel, and both were so refreshing and different from everything we ever had. the sit-down menu is a very scaled version of the to go and that is just because ruthie wants to make sure that they are completley satisfied with their dining room experience and so dishes that last longer and only served for taking. without it being anything they are waiting for. we didn't try as much as we could. our baby boy had the huh fatucini alfredo (not pictured because he started too fast, lol .not traditional caribbean, but it was delicious! one of the ladies in the kitchen even came out to make sure that he liked everything that went into the pasta dish..A service! my man ordered the spicy jerk, with the red beans and rice, and mac and bee (again picture not possible lol . I had the ochsen, plantains (most of them before I could and roasted vegetables. we shared a dal puri (that it was filled with divided heapses, then fritted. yum! and lens soup too. in addition, ruthie treated us rehearsals of rucksprimps (my favorite and pumpkin soup with salt fishing). she also served us some extra spicy sauces that my man could not get enough. he loves a good heat. everything burst taste and all the meat was so tender! all in all we spent almost 2 hours there, but not because it took that long to come. it was the wonderful atmosphere that ruthie had created with her charming personality and talks with the people around us who held us there. we'll be back soon. thanks ruthie!"

"Came here with some friends a bit ago for dinner. I'm a big fan of the Margaritaville chain. Been to the Las Vegas and Atlantic City locations and have always enjoyed myself so I was looking forward to having a dining experience here so close to home. The location is not my favorite. Although it is easily accessible by multiple train lines, the nightmare of the Times Square crowds doesn't help when trying to navigate around here. Came on a Saturday evening but we didn't need reservations. I met my friends outside and we went in and headed up the escalator to be seated. There are a lot of interesting spots where you can sit. They have tables for 4+ people fashioned as little huts. You can sit inside of a Statue of Liberty head. Floor-to-ceiling windows so if you sit by them, you'll have some great views. There were only 3 in our party so they just sat us at a boring table that had 1 funky leg that made the table woble constantly. Sevice was scatterbrained so we did wait every so often. I don't recall what mixed drink I had but it was pretty good. One of the more inexpensive drinks off the menu. We started with with wing appetizer. They were fine. Were they $18 for 6 wings fine?? HECK no. That's a bit outrageous for me. I had the Cajun Shrimp Grits for my entree. Had a good amount of big shrimp and wasn't overly cheesy. The Andouille sausage gravy that covered it was yummy. As most Margaritaville foods go, it was very tasty. Again, expensive. Like, outrageously priced. I get it, it's in Times Square and a tourist trap but damn. Of course, I had to end my meal off with the usual Key Lime Pie which was as good as ever. The bathrooms are really strange. Cramped and filthy with the garbage bins overflowing. To me, the WORST thing about this place is woman that they have hanging around by the hostess stand selling timeshares! When I go out to eat, one of the things I DON"T want happening is having someone harass me regarding land/sea timeshares. Get the hell out of here with that ****. I possibly would come back but with that nonsense and the price points, I'll probably steer clear of this place!"

"I just came here today for lunch with my aunt. Let’s start with cleanliness… they ask you to use the available disposable gloves and hand sanitizer which is an A+ in my book since it’s self serve. The food was very nicely displayed and everything was fresh. I ended up getting one plate to dine in and then got two to go so my partner at home could taste too. My aunt got an extra one too. Walked in for lunch and walked out with dinner for three. I had the bbq sticky wings with collard greens, cabbage, Mac n cheese, and candied yams with marshmallow on top. Everything was yummy. The yams were my personal fav, not too sweet and just sweet enough, nice and tender. Oh but also the sticky bbq wings were my fav. They stayed nice and crispy fried with the right amount of sauce. Also I saw a couple reviews about it being bland, particularly saw a mention about collard greens but I’d like to say that as a collard green lover you gotta understand that it’s flavored for the population. Southern style is stewed with smoked meat (my personal preference) but I think these greens are Ital (vegan) so the flavor is different. Big Caribbean population in this area as well so I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case. I liked them! Anyway… I brought home two plates one ox tail and one j chicken (pic included) but I haven’t opened them yet so I can’t speak on that but my aunt got oxtail and she loved it (she don’t like nobody ox tail bc it’s always tough). She wrote a review too so if you see a lady raving about cake and ox tail you know who it is ? Anyway, this ain’t the place for you to bring a big group to sit down as there are only two decent size tables. There’s room for 6 8 ppl to sit. Nothing fancy but clean so we sat and ate. Very nice staff too! even gave me a new mask when I lost mine. I been here before and I’ll be back again! A very pleasant lunch worth taking the time to write a good review"
