"Scout was a delightful place with the feel of an old campground dining hall. Plenty of outside dining with grass for the kids to play on safely. The inside had long tables like a camp plus smaller ones if you were not a large group. Our appetizer was pretzel bites with a flavorful dipping cheese and I had a Happy Camper cocktail that was basically bourbon and ginger beer with some exotic liquors added. It was a great balance of sweet and sour. We both ordered salads…Atlanta Beets, which had sliced baby beets and microgreens plus a seasoned goat cheese on top with delicious aioli…Spinach Salad was delicious, as well as the beet salad. We added flame grilled chicken breasts to both which was loaded with cookout flavor. All in all a delightful, relaxing evening with great food!"

"I was planning to grab some chicken next door when I noticed the Chicken Fried Steak advertised on the STAR GRILL sign. I decided to stop in and ordered the dinner for $17. The steak was a good size, topped with rich white gravy, accompanied by a generous piece of buttered Texas toast and a side of French fries. They also served a fresh salad in a separate container, and I enjoyed a refreshing sweet tea with real lemon slices. The atmosphere was charming, filled with old Texas Western memorabilia, including an antique shotgun mounted on the wall. It had a cozy vibe, and the booths came with comfortable cushioned seats. Overall, a great experience!"

"Got home and after ordering 3 great steaks from them and 42.00 worth to food out there was cheese and tomatoo on ours. We even told them no tomatoo no mushrooms no cheese. alergic to it. So now out a meal and had already driven back to the house 8 miles away. Ugggg . We realy liked this food but I can't keep buying expensive food if it isn't made right. Last order was 70.00 and we had one of them wrong as well."

"Top knotch. The burger was out fast and fresh. The lettuce crisp and exactly the way I ordered it. Facilities were clean, but had a bit of a dated look. Perfectly ok for a burger joint. The staff was kind and attentive. A little off the highway if youare road tripping, but for the price and quality, definitely worth the extra few minutes drive. I went mid afternoon and theywere not busy ,yet not at all empty. I saw the staff actively cleaning as they fill orders. That always makes me smile. GiveBurger Stop a try, excellent value."

"Review Visit: March 14th, 2016 What do you think I ordered at Steak Fries? If you guess some steak with a side of fries, you’d be incorrect. What did I order on this sunny spring day? I honestly don’t remember. Between looking at my photos and looking at the website/online menu, I can usually guess what I order. Not this time. Let’s take a journey as I try to remember. Based on the photo below, it appears that one of the things I ordered was a BLT but its on a hotdog bun. Yup, I am not making that up. That’s exactly what it looks like. The other item I ordered was another BLT maybe with chicken instead of bacon? A CLT also on a hotdog bun. Weird. I couldn’t even begin to guess what the other stuff on the menu would look like once served. Tacos on a hamburger bun? Pizza topped with ice cream? Who knows! The restaurant is located in CampusTown in Peoria. This area is full of eager college freshmen dodging traffic, the worst intersection in history and a ton of local restaurants. CampusTown specifically has a countless number of places to eat and Steak Fries is one of them. The name is generic, the food is served in non-traditional ways and the taste was… pretty good. That I do remember. My girlfriend and I were taken back by the unusual way food was presented and then we were taken back by how good it was despite the oddity of it all. You can see on their website that our unique experience isn’t so unique and is just who they are. If you know me, I am a fan of oddities. I’ve done some strange stuff over my lifetime and tries even stranger things. Nothing illegal. Just going against the grain to try old things in new ways and new things in old ways. So, I have a small soft spot for this visit as it was definitely one to reflect on and laugh about. I’ve kind of gone off my normal trail with this post. In the end, if you are in need of something different that won’t break the bank, check out Steak Fries for something different."

"This place was pretty cool. It was recommended to me by a friend who grew up in Houston so I decided to give it a try. I tried the ribs and the brisket as well as the mac and cheese. I got some dry brisket to go for my pups. The food is amazing and the sauce is next level. My only complaint is that they don't sell the sauce to go in jars. I was on a road trip through town and couldn't take a styrofoam container full of sauce. But if you're local, you can definitely grab that. In my opinion, you really can't go wrong here."

"Got the same thing just a couple of days before but eating in the restaurant. Omelette seemed smaller which was weird. It was just ok. The hash browns werent like I remembered. They did have the same really good whole wheat toast tho! Wish their menu on DoorDash let you order drinks. Nice to have coffee with your breakfast. Glad theyre on the app now as there arent a lot of other restaurants on and when you get sick its great to be able to order something healthier than fast food. Id try them again, just not for this omelette."

"Our family loves going to Locos, it is a favorite. This past visit, we brought my parents visiting from out of town. We arrived just before 8 pm on a Tuesday, and the place was completely empty other than us and a few people at the bar. We asked that the kids' food come out first if it was ready, so they didn't need to wait. (Corn dog and grill cheese). It took almost 40 minutes for our food to come out, and the kids' food was one of the last things to come out. One order was missing some items, but everything else came out fine.We usually have the best experience with great service, and food times are good. I am not sure if it was an off night, if the kitchen staff was different than we normally have, but it was an off experience for us.We will, of course, return as all our other experiences have been good ones."
