"Another common misconception is that people think it looks a bit dull. Like any diner, it has its own unique charm and atmosphere. I initially thought the menu would be limited, but Jack's Hollywood Diner actually offers a diverse selection for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I ordered a coffee, a three-decker club sandwich with chicken salad, and French fries. I also treated myself to a slice of pecan pie.
I loved the coffee; it was strong and far better than the weak offerings from places like Dunkin’ or the disappointing brews from Starbucks. The three-decker chicken salad sandwich exceeded my expectations. Using chicken salad instead of sliced meat was a bold choice, but it really worked. The bacon was another highlight—perfectly cooked and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by the coleslaw, which was among the best I’ve ever had.
As for the French fries, they were just average. I think I would have preferred them to be hotter and served in a larger portion, as the serving size was a bit small. But that’s just a minor detail.
Now, let’s move on to my favorite part—the dessert. The southern pecan pie was absolutely divine! It was a delightful explosion of flavors that really wowed my taste buds. My server, Lulu, was fantastic throughout the entire meal, bringing fun and charm to the experience. She really knows her stuff and even offered me a sample of her apple cake, which was also delicious. If you order the apple cake or the southern pecan pie, you won’t be disappointed.
I will definitely be returning, and I hope to see Lulu as my waitress again. With great food, excellent service, and prices that are surprisingly affordable, plus the fact that the diner is open 24 hours, it’s a wonderful spot to visit!"
