"We have thrived in Michelin-star restaurants all over the world and have always trusted this review as our experiences were always phenomenal. Yesterday Barndiva was a great disappointment. Our dishes were lacking in sophistication, surprise or the elevated artistry we would expect from a Michelin cook. The dishes were either too strong spices or oiled or lack of taste. We could hear from some neighboring tables (as we were crowded together) that they had a similar experience of spicy or inspiring tastes. Even the food presentation was simple and simple. Our service was subordinate and uncoordinated. We had to ask many times to refill our water to cool off the excessively seasoned first course. You missed clearing our plates before a next course arrived. We also had a birthday dinner and they only remembered at the end of the evening. We have asked for basic food allergies substitutions. The waitress was not aware of some dishes. It seemed to the boss lacked the ability to swing on some of the dishes and the result was even more disappointing for the dishes he modified. Note, some dishes were as intended and still subpar. The total value was not there for the meal. We have frustrated and disappointed. We had chosen Barndiva for an extraordinary birthday dinner. We've been overpaid. Even for half the price, it would still not be worth the money. We would recommend Guiso Latin Fusion for increased taste profiles, presentation and creativity for a fraction of the cost."

"I've been here half a dozen times. The food is good and the menu options are plentiful. The vibe is great and I love the music they play. Service always starts out great and then somewhere in the middle it drops. Every single time. I've had different servers who are pleasant, but the follow through needs some work. The bar makes a good drink, but they are slow. When you order your first drink get another one immediately. I have had to wait for a second and third drink ridiculously long periods of time. So much so that I had to send my husband to the bar to see if the order had been put in when server was nowhere to be found. I came in recently and had dinner and cocktails with my husband. I ordered 3 g&t's with a little simple syrup, mint and cucumber garnish. Each drink that came the glass was smaller and smaller. I had to line 3 glasses of varying sizes to show the server before we left, to which he said the bar is busy. Maybe so, but what does that have to do with the size of the glass? And I had to wait a long time in between cocktails. Not okay. I'm out for the night before going to the Greek. I am ready to have a good time. This put a damper on the vibe I was going for. I am seeing more and more inconsistencies every time I come. I got the tuna tartare and the tuna to avocado ratio was way off. There was the thinnest topping of tuna that was gone in a few bites. If I wanted Guacamole and chips only, I would have ordered it. I want to like this place, but after the most recent trip, I'm not feeling the love."

"Bulla has been one of our favorite places for years but unfortunately things seem to have changed. I can only imagine that the place is under new management since our experience was so different. We went for dinner on Friday night and immediately notice a couple things. A big sign saying that they no longer accepted cash, just credit cards. The other was that it was much slower than it used to be on a Friday at 7:30, and we now know why. The food was still good outside the the churros we had for desert that tasted like freezer burnt twigs. The problem was everything else. The table‘s first round of drinks took nearly 30 minutes to arrive. The waitress apologized profusely several times and in the end, the drinks were comped. Remember… I said the place wasn’t very busy. My beer was brought to me in a can. Don’t think I ever had a can served to me in a nice restaurant. No glass, just a can. Our 2nd round of drinks took nearly 20 minutes and this time I was served a can, unopened. I don’t even believe that’s legal when you don’t have a package license. I guess I’m now going out to dinner only to open up my own beer. The worse part of the experience was that the restaurant seemed in a hurry to go home. At 9:20 they turned up the lights… you know, like when a bar turns up the lights to tell you they’re closing. Mind you, they close at 10. The check was hurriedly given to us and we felt pressured to pay quickly. We asked if we could order a round of drinks to take up to the rooftop bar and we got them oddly quickly this time. So at 9:30 we paid and took our drinks up to the rooftop…except the rooftop bar was closed… at 9:30 on a Friday night. Why bother having a rooftop bar? We took our drinks outside to a table on the street but before we could enjoy our drinks, employees started putting up the chairs and cushions all around us. We finally gave up and left. Always makes me sad when good restaurants stop caring about the guest experience and then wonder why business tank"
