"THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER! I went there because my six year old wanted to go for sushi and we had been before. It's always been mediocre and I gave in and went. I made the mistake of getting the all you can eat for $33.95. I ordered a roll, some sushi and a handroll. They sat us right near the sushi bar and the person helping to make the sushi would not stop glaring at me my entire meal! Always checking out what I was eating was I sharing? It was so unenjoyable. I could not just enjoy eating and being with my family for my daughter's birthday. The sushi was terrible. All rice and barely anything in the middle of the rolls or on top of the sushi. It had no flavor at all. Then to top it off, the server came over to me and warned me that I must finish all my rice on my plate or I would be charged. At that point, I let her know just how awful the food was and on top of that, I could not enjoy even sitting there with them eyeing me and surrounding me, monitoring every bite and my every move with their precious all you can eat rice. Please save your money. There are plenty of other sushi restaurants on 72nd street that are quality and great service/pleasant dining experience."

"I decided to give this restaurant another chance after my first experience didn't impress me with either the service or the food. This time, I ordered the spicy crunchy yellowtail roll but was disappointed. I couldn't figure out what fish was used in the roll; it tasted somewhat like canned tuna. There were no recognizable pieces of fish, and it was neither spicy nor crunchy. The first bite felt a bit off, and I'm hoping I don’t end up feeling ill. The other dishes I tried were just okay, but definitely not worth the $42 I spent, especially for just myself. The service staff appeared impatient and unhappy, which didn’t enhance the experience. Honestly, the sushi from Publix is better—and that’s not saying much. For this price point, I expect the sushi and service to be outstanding."

"We had our staff Christmas party at this restaurant and it couldn't have been better. This is the perfect place for medium to large groups - we had 18 people and it was perfect. We enjoyed cocktails, beer, and hot sake at the bar before our meal, which was excellent. The food and service were top-notch, with everything being delicious. The show the cooks put on added to the fantastic party atmosphere that we all enjoyed. The price was reasonable as well. We all loved it and will definitely be back. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for large groups."

"First time and I was in awe! The atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing, very friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is a little small, but I love how they utilized the space. The food was very good 8/10 for me. From the apps to the entree, everything was delicious. It was my first time trying sushi and I was not disappointed. I will definitely be back here again. "It 's been a few years since I 've found a sushi place willing to make sushi without rice due to personal dietary restrictions. I love sushi so finding two types of sushi rolls without rice made me a happy girl. My only wish is Orenji would make a sushi roll with the nori wrap in addition to the cucumber roll. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food and of the two types of non- rice rolls... 'Jade ' (with No rice, fresh cucumber wrapped. Inside: tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado, cucumber- I opted for no ponzu sauce) and another one- lobster shrimp and avocado (I recall)... both were tasty but the lobster shrimp one was my favorite. We had prompt service and everyone enjoyed their meal. Now that I know I can get no rice sushi again I 'll be back!!! Orenji please add some non rice nori roll sushi to your menu!!"

"Great place to celebrate birthday for grandchild. Victor is super no matter how many times or groups he entertains. Uncanny memory, great sense of humor and super with the balloons. Of course the hibachi chef is terrific with his pyrotechnics and greatprep of food. Sounds expensive, but it is not. Price is well worth it. Certainly get great value. "I understand that California rolls aren't considered authentic sushi, but I absolutely love them! They have a simple, great taste that I really enjoy. I'm not a fan of the more exotic options; I prefer California rolls and their veggie counterparts, which are twice as large and filled with guacamole, carrots, and cucumbers instead of crab. My only complaint is that I paid $40 and would have liked the rolls to be cut thicker."

"Very good, could be a place that we visit, currently we simply have not found a place for sushi et al that hits all the notes. I walked into a completely empty restaurant at around 5:45pm on a Friday, asked do you have a reservation? no, I reply, do I need one ? lol Soon, a few more tables join me the room is filled with conversation some warmth. In the mood for some rolls, I order the combo that offers Miso soup, which is excellent. The rolls, they are ok, good..not too much rice, but I must have missed the memo that rolls are now 6 pieces, since the mid 1980 's what had been 8. Also, a Mango Kani Salad, some crunch on top. Very good, a bit too much dressing, but a good portion that leaves me with 1/2 for tomorrow. If you read this live nearby, do you have a favorite local Japanese spot that makes great sushi sashimi ? The reviews on Yelp always seem to be loved, with many 4-5 star reviews, but when i search them most recent first there is a sudden drop to 1-3 stars with an explanation new owners, used to be amazing etc. Pleasant service, tables for 2 very close together, a few tatami tables and 2-3 tables for four to six people. I 'll return soon see if the positive feelings remain."
