"As an appetizer, we ordered the wurst sampler, which included bratwurst, knockwurst, and German sausage served over sauerkraut with mustard and demi-glaze. Although I'm not typically a fan of sausage, I found the bratwurst to be my favorite; it was tender and packed with flavor. The mustard and sauerkraut added wonderful, complex tastes to the dish.
For my main course, I chose the Paprika Schnitzel. All entrees come with a seasonal vegetable and your choice of potato: spätzle (potato noodles), mashed potatoes, potato pancakes, or fries. I went for the potato pancakes, which were delightful and had a fantastic crispy texture. The seasonal vegetable was buttered carrots, a classic side that never disappoints. The schnitzel was crispy and hearty, complemented perfectly by the creamy paprika gravy. Everything worked harmoniously together.
Everyone in our party enjoyed their selected beers, with the grapefruit beer being a standout favorite—refreshing and flavorful. If you're ever in the New Britain area, I highly recommend visiting East Side Restaurant!
Accessibility: The restaurant features a ramp at the entrance and an accessible bathroom at the back."
