"I would have given this restaurant a negative rating if there was an option. I ordered spicy chicken biryani through DoorDash and called the restaurant to confirm that it would be spicy. The woman on the phone assured me it would be. However, when I opened the package, it was completely spilled due to poor packaging. To make matters worse, the food tasted like plain tomato rice. I called the restaurant to inquire about the issue, but I received no proper response. The owner was arrogant and dismissive, saying that it was what it was and that I could do whatever I wanted. I absolutely do not recommend this place if you’re looking for a peaceful dining experience with flavorful food."

"The finest Indian restaurant in the Bay Area! As someone who truly appreciates authentic spices instead of the milder flavors often served in Western dishes, I can assure you they'll make your meal just like in India if you ask for it. "I love the Channa Masala and many of their other vegan options. The staff are very helpful for vegans. One time I went to grab something that wasn't vegan at the buffet, and remembering that I had said I was vegan, a staff member went out of his way to tell me the sauce had milk. All the staff I've interacted with have been very helpful and excited to answer my questions and show me the vegan dishes. They seem to truly care about my vegan diet. I would give Taj of Marin a 5 star review if the website allowed me to."

"Came here in a party of 3 for lunch. We really enjoyed the delicious food and complimentary chai. Service was a bit lacking but our whole experience was good. Service was ok but I feel this was the one downfall of our meal. The waitress was not very warm, she didn't greet us or start the dining experience with a hello and welcome. She was also timid which made us feel a bit uncomfortable for her. They were very attentive to our table but shy and standoff ish. Food was amazing! We enjoyed a classic Buttered Chicken and Lamb Coconut Curry with garlic and butter naan and rice. Awesome food! I crave it even now while I write this. Atmosphere was good. Spacious and clean. We were there at a quiet time but it seems well laid out for the busy hours. Drinks weren't comprehensive and I didnt notice too many options but that doesn't seem like a big deal for a place like this. What I REALLY enjoyed was the chai. It's a great touch to offer this complimentary service and I've only seen it in a few Indian restaurants. Really appreciated it. Prices were good and very reasonable. Portions seemed standard for what we've seen elsewhere and prices were good. Especially given the quality of food. Would definitely go again if craving Indian food. Give it a shot if you're around here!"

"We chose to visit this restaurant based solely on online recommendations. It's situated in a charming side mall alongside other quaint ethnic eateries, which added to our excitement. Unfortunately, the chicken wasn't prepared with care in the gravy, resulting in a disappointing meal. The worst part was finding a long hair at the bottom of my dish. I could overlook the hair, but I can't excuse food that lacks the rich and joyful flavors that define good Indian cuisine."

"Lunch ordered and picked up. Nice owner/cook. Very large portions and lunch include my Chicken Tikka, Rice, Dal, Veggie Curry and Raita AND Naan. The food was very delicious. I could take more spices so I could ask for spice next time. The Naan was soft and warm vs dried, which I found with a lot of Indians, taking out near me. Everything was carefully packed. The comb meal is very good. You can also eat and I think I'll try the next time. Very small restaurant only a few tables, but nicely furnished with care with white linen. It is in a fun mini-mall-type place with a sad donut joint and a Chinese restaurant. So there's a small parking lot. I found her through United Airlines Dining. I drove to Pico hundreds of times and had never seen this little treasure. I will return."

"This is the BEST Indian food at a super reasonable price in San Diego. It’s a hole in the wall and as other reviews state the service is isn’t the most notable, but in this case I don’t even mind because the food is well worth it and then some. I’ve been with my roommate, friends and family a combined dozens of times. Get the lunch or dinner combos, you’re missing out if you don’t try the chicken makhani (butter chicken) we can’t help but get it every time now that we’ve tried everything. The meat falls apart in your plate and in your mouth, I’ve tried so many other Indian places where their meat is dry and gets stuck being chewed in your mouth, not Punjabi Tandoor. I haven’t even mentioned their amazing chewy stretchy naan and the yummy rice pudding desert cup that are both included with the lunch/dinner combo meals. If you haven’t tried this place yet go immediately, and if you haven’t yet, then get the chicken makhani in your lunch or dinner combo!"

"I was recommended to come here from a friend and this place exceeded my expectations!! I don't know much about indian food, but I have been interested in trying new things. The menu has a lot of options and there is plenty of seating inside. The workers were extremely patient and sweet. We got our food very quickly which was nice. My friend and I got combo #4 which included chicken curry, rice, naan, and kheer. I got the butter chicken (I know this is basic, but I love the flavors) for my chicken curry. It was so flavorful and so much chicken was inside. The naan piece was very big as well. I tried kheer for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I describe it as a sweet rice pudding. I got vegetable samosas too and they were huge!! I love the sauces that they give us, especially the reddish one. I also tried the gulab jamen and it was so warm/sweet. I definitely recommend coming here. I will for sure be coming back!! There are so many options, the portions are huge, and the prices are reasonable."
