"“Energetic” noise level means “LOUD”, but Open Table doesn’t have a choice for that... It’s loud in this place. Not because it was crowded, but because the decor is “live” with no sound baffles. There was a group of women at the next table cackling like sorority girls the whole time we were there. Not the restaurant’s fault, but annoying nonetheless when you’re out trying to have a date night with your love... But everything else about this place is superb! Food is always good. They’re always accommodating. And the service we’ve had from every server has been outstanding and genuine. Located where it is, I’m surprised it wasn’t busy on a Saturday night at dinner time. A lot of people were eating outside, so maybe that’s why the inside seemed wide open. We come here a lot and enjoy it very much every time. We will be back again."

"they have many vegan options. I ordered the tofu steak, which was a whole plate with delicious vegetables, mushrooms, a little brown rice and a few greens along with two round patties of easy fritttofu. all for $10, plus it came with a green salad. (Lunch menu). there are some fish oil in even some of the vegan options, they wanted to check. update 11/21: no tofu steak on menu, but waiter offered, cook make me fried tofu, even tho there is no tofu on the menu at all. and then I ordered the side of the spa gel (damped), and some brown rice and made a meal out of it. updated by previous review on 2019-07-26"

"THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF GIVE U AWFUL FOOD!!!!My mom ordered us dinner here last night and when we got home we only had HALF OUR FOOD. We called back to tell them and the first person we spoke to was sweet and apologetic but transferred us to THE MANAGER who said “Well, just split it.” And hung up on my mom!! The food we did get was awful, the eggrolls were greasy with no meat, just cabbage. The one cup of sweet and sour sauce was as thin as water and tasted like SOAP! The chicken was soggy from a ton of mixed veggies being mixed in for some reason? ?And the rice was just white rice, the only thing that was bearable but we had to split it. We spent almost $34 dollars here to receive HALF our order, trash service, and awful food. Don’t touch this place with a 10 foot pole. You WILL be sure to regret it."

"Good food; however, I wish the customer service had been a lot better. We had no utensils, no napkins, and at no point were we offered a refill on our beverages. I was sharing my drink with my sister because she had already waited so long for the waitress to come anywhere near us so we could ask for a refill. When we were sat, our table had a tray on it with some dirty dishes. I questioned whether our table was even wiped down. There was a table next to us whose party had just left and there was quite a bit of trash left under the table and to my surprise they didn?t even clean it before they sat down the next party. I?ve been frequenting this location for years now and I?ve never seen it this bad."

"I went to this restaurant for a team outing. I was able to book a table online, received a text confirmation, and was able to walk right in and be seated at my table. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The peaceful atmosphere made for a lovely evening. The sushi was especially tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

"The initial spot we were gonna go to, after our museum trip was shutdown due to power issues but this place was a great backup. We passed it on our way to our initial place and then walked back to try it. I got the sesame chicken teriyaki, which came with miso soup and white rice. Absolutely amazing. Also had the fried rice with chicken combination and that hit the spot. Great service. Food came out promptly. Caught the itis cause we ate so well. Definitely would recommend"

"We haven't been to Kabuki in ages, and it was our first time at this location. Not sure if their menu has changed because of the pandemic, but they seemed to have removed some items (no mackerel sushi and no more sushi boats). They did have a new menu adding more choices to their considerably extensive offerings. Great deal with the Family Table, which can feed 4 adults (per our server) with chicken beef teriyaki, bbq pork ribs, gyoza, tempura, California roll, and rice for only $35. Food is very flavorful, and their veggies and sushi are made with fresh ingredients. Enjoyed the daikon in their wonderful side salads, and the Albacore Crunch Roll was a good call, with savory ponzu sauce and crunchy garlic embellishing their freshly made albacore roll. Great place for large groups and families. Available indoor and outdoor seating. Very much recommended for reasonably priced, quality Japanese food. Staff is very friendly and helpful as well."

"So, it's in a strip mall, yes but give it a chance. This was the best sushi I have had in recent memory. Eating it gave me a warm fuzzy feeling all over (may have been the Sapporo). If you eat much sushi, you probably know that the difference betweengood sushi and great sushi is the rice. This is great sushi. It made me acutely aware of the 3.5 billion year evolutionaryhistory of the fish. I felt the weight of time and the interconnections of the planet's biochemical cycles. I observed myself asa self observing. It dawned on me, I and the fish were a single entity encompasing everything. By consuming it I participated ina willfull internal restructuring of the distribution of matter and energy in the universe. I was not in control any more thanthe fish was. Staff was polite and attentive. Will definitely be back."

"I could have sworn I had written a review about this place, but I guess I didn't. This place definitely has the best sushi in the area. The prices are very reasonable and they give generous portions. The sushi is always fresh. I have been coming here since I was a baby, as did my dad and grandpa before me. I'm glad to see that they have survived all the craziness of the past couple of years. The staff even knows us by name! If you're looking for good sushi, this is the place to go. I still believe it's a hidden gem."

"You know that it is too loud in a restaurant when the server cannot hear you order. But we carried on and everything was delivered as ordered. The Prasino punch is a great cocktail, and the crispy shrimp is a spicy appetizer. All of our entrees had good sized portions as we all needed boxes to take home leftovers."

"We got the Samurai sushi, Prasino burger and truffled potatoes. The sushi was amazing as always and the potatoes were seasoned well and also good. The last couple times we have been the burger has absolutely no seasoning and needs salt. The other flavors on the burger are amazing but the meat was not seasoned at all ."

"I haven 't been to this location in a very very long time (like 5-10 years ago), and a friend was in town and we decided to go to Kabuki because it was close to other destinations we had this evening. Restaurant was fairly busy for a Friday evening, which was expected, and our wait time was minimal. Ordered pork belly appetizer (not pictured), and it was AMAZING. It comes out on a fajita style rectangular cast iron dish so it was still sizzling/cooking at the table. My friend and I really enjoyed the char marks and tenderness it had. Sushi roll order included Cilantro Albacore, Grilled Shrimp Roll, Lotus on Fire, Salmon roll, and BSCR. She really enjoyed the Cilantro Albacore because it was the fresh flavor she needed on this hot, humid day. I was amazed at how generous the salmon roll was and really loved that one. Lotus on Fire reminds me of a popular roll at another well known establishment. While the Grilled Shrimp Roll and BSCR (baked scallop Cali roll) are Cali roll foundation, the toppings were flavorful and made it even more special. The size of all rolls were quite nice for the price. Our server Rocky was nice, efficient and understanding of our food allergies/sensitivities and checked on us just the right amount of times. Altogether, we were just about $100 with tip included. Pleasantly surprised at this return visit for sure!"

"We visited the restaurant on a Monday and found it to be not very busy, with only about five tables occupied. We were seated right away but waited for about five to ten minutes before our server greeted us. We ordered a drink and a seaweed salad to start, but after twenty minutes had passed, we still had not received anything or seen our server. We noticed that a family who arrived after us had already ordered and received their food from a different server. When we finally saw our server taking orders from another table that had just sat down, we assumed she would come to us next, but she never did. Feeling neglected in an almost empty restaurant, we decided to leave. We were disappointed in the lack of service, especially since we had previously dined there on a busy night and received better service. This was a first for us and we were unimpressed. We give the restaurant two stars."

"He started the rush while I was in the bathroom, from the manager. Did you knock the door? And then an inedible chicken sandwich was served, on request a new one was said, yes only the same sandwich was returned by a self-announced sandwich manufacturer (aka the same person who rushed me) saying the best he can do for me is a 15% voucher for my next visit. Better! Edit 12/13/2021 Kam for a second attempt. Much better service. And the sushi is great. Very fresh fish and refreshing feeling after eating."

"When ordering takeout, they frequently charge for items we didn’t request, and then argue when we try to clarify. On one occasion, I ordered shrimp tempura as a meal, only to find out that they had stopped serving it that way and now only offered it as an appetizer. I wouldn't have known this had they updated their menu on their website or informed me when I placed the order. Instead, they charged me for a full meal but served me the smaller appetizer portion. When I tried to address the issue, the server and owner were loud and dismissive, failing to listen or treat me respectfully. They offered me a credit instead of a refund, but I could never use that credit because they somehow claimed it didn’t exist. The menu is almost always inaccurate, and they don't communicate properly to correct any mistakes. We've been regular customers, dining here 4-5 times a month since they opened, but I’m done giving them the benefit of the doubt. It’s unacceptable to take advantage of customers."

"Sushi is one of my top 5 categories that I review/eat on Yelp. That being said the sushi here disappointed very badly.As of 05/23 a roll that cost $12.5 and tastes like this should be considered a scam. This place is not authentic first off. I shouldve known better if you eat sushi you can tell if it's good or not just based off the rice ratio and how it's rolled. Obviously these rolls are off, first red flag I shouldve looked closer at. No big deal, however the taste of the yuki roll was so bland. The spicy tuna had no taste and the shrimp tempura inside was just crunch and I got a hint of banana for some reason it was gross. The volcano roll was just a bunch of toppings thrown together and was also bland. Service was good. Called my order in and picked it up on time. Inside was kinda beat down with a radio playing music that kept cutting on and off. Definitely not coming back. Shouldve done my own research more before stopping by. Shame on people leaving 4 to 5 star reviews on here. My standards are set much higher eating at places that have Japanese chefs.If you eat Wegmans or Publix sushi. You'll definitely think this is 10 stars and this is the place for you."

"On a Friday night(6pm) we grabbed a table for two right away. Our server was Sam, he was good and very conscientious. We were offered the happy hour(5-7pm) special for food and drinks. The appetizer and soups came quick and were delicious. The main course was worth the wait. The rolls had eight pieces and tasted fresh. There is an open kitchen and everything seems to be very orderly. The place was filled with mostly college students as it is in the university area. We enjoyed ourselves in all."

"What a joke of a place. The place is in a terrible location, your view is literally the parking lot. When they seated us there was old smashed up Sushi and food on the ground. I had to ask the waitress to please get someone to clean it up. That was the first sign of unsanitary and disgusting management. The paint is peeling right near the table you are dining at, another sign of what the food preparation might look like. Ordered wine bottle and the glasses had lipstick. When you received the food, there was a hair on the food embedded deep. We sent it back. The waitress literally came back and told us that nobody on there staff has long hair which is indication of very poor customer service. We asked for the bill and they made sure to charge us for the food that we sent back and didn’t touch. I asked to speak to the manager and the manager was to much of a coward to talk to me. This place will not last and we will spread the word detracting people from this please."
