"Food: the portions were great, but the below average quality leaves you wondering how they can charge so much. The fish appears frozen and unthawed prior to frying. It consisted of four, square, nuggets of fish, a handful of fries for $17.99. The cup of chili screams mid bland, plain (no cheese, onions, hot sauce... nothing), $5.45 cup, room temperature. The black and bleu burger was really good, but chips are served with it and cannot be substituted. The nachos were six decent sized chips, cheese, tomatoes, and jalapenos with chili, sour cream, and salsa on the side. These were fairly good, but extremely anemic for a $14.99 appetizer. The cole slaw tasted more like fish than the actual fish. It was inedible. I believe the spotlight was on the turkey club that was actually very good, and portioned and priced fairly. Service: Umm... what service? We waited while the people that came in after us were served before we were even approached all after being seated. The silverware was dirty, and a menu had blood on it. The server was very friendly after she got to us. Atmosphere: this seems good, but when three people are having an $87 lunch that was worth $50, tops, it's very hard to enjoy the place you are sitting. The prices are on the menu, and I'm not upset about the money. I'm upset that I'm paying Texas Roadhouse prices for Taco Bell quality food. After tip, this was over $30 per person. This was one of my wife's favorite childhood restaurants, and she's complained since sitting down. I do not believe that we will return for a VERY long time. "Was contacted by the owner Cara after my initial review. What I got wasn't an apology or hey come back we'll make it up to you. No, I got excuses and Cara went on the offensive putting the blame on us because we showed a lack of patience. The owners arrogant and is one of those people that doesn't like to admit error. She boasts how long she's been in business and turned the tables making the experience our fault. I hadn't mentioned it before but will now. They also have this cute little sign on the table that's double sided. One side has some gobbledygook writing on it, which faces the customer and looks pretty ordinary. This I assume is down with a purposeful hand as to not directly advise the customer of the process increase to the bill, but later justify it when the customer gets angry. If you take the time to flip it around and read it, it states that there is a 5% add on fee for food cost increases added to your final bill. So when people get pissed, they can say hey it's posted in the table. That way they don't look like they're being greedy. Let me tell ya, the price you pay for a cup of coffee and a meal is already super inflated at that place. Yeah, it's cute, it's cozy and you can buy a candle or jar of jelly on your way out. But cmon. And I also gotta say, the food was very good several years ago but we noticed a steep decline over the last 5 years or so. Not good. Not special and to be honest, I've left there kinda angry in the past because the meal was silly expensive for very low quality. There ya go Cara how's my update? Lucky for you the cafe is located in a tourist spot because if you pulled that garbage with the **** service, low food quality and sneaky cost additions, you'd be taking a lot more heat and quite possibly out of business. Your kind of business model is predatory in nature and your only saving grace is the location. It certainly isn't the food and most definitely not the service. Jesus loves you. Have a great day"

"Comes out to $30 per person, only food ordered no drinks or coffee. As others said, most of the workers are stuck up, rude, lackadaisical, and seem like they are completely over it. They haphazardly barely wave you to your seat once they are ready to seat you. People were confused and kept walking behind the host only to have passed up their intended table, then had to back track and climb over people in that claustrophobic place. They throw the menu at you and then wait and wait for them to come take order. I waived a waitress down to get my order taken. One customer prepared to sit down at the bar and took off his pullover sweeter fanning whatever dust, dandruff, pet hair, etc onto my food. I had to move my food to the far corner of the table. A waitress with a big behind in spandex tights was helping the table next to me and her behind was in my face. Luckily there was no odor or I would have lost my appetite. The guy who brought me my water was the same person who was collecting the used plates with leftover food after people left. He was touching the main door handles and then handed me my water with all five fingers holding the brim of the cup where I put my mouth. Then to top it off, you have to get up and pay at the cash register and the tip choices start at 18%. I tipped 15%. Food is good but expensive and you have to be prepared to be exposed to the above."
