"The staff was friendly, and we were quickly seated upon arrival. Our drink orders were taken right away, followed by our food orders shortly thereafter. The Family Diner serves only breakfast and lunch, with no dinner service available. A quick glance at the menu revealed a good variety of lunch options, but we focused on breakfast items.
They offer standard breakfast fare, including omelets, French toast, and biscuits and gravy, along with various egg, meat, and hash brown combinations. A large cinnamon roll seemed to be one of their signature offerings.
I ordered a corned beef hash combination, while my brothers opted for French toast, eggs, meat, and hash browns. I also chose the cinnamon roll as a side dish.
Overall, the food was quite good. The corned beef hash and French toast were decent but not exceptional. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and finally, a chef who knows what crispy hash browns are! The sausage patty was large and flavorful, reportedly made locally. The cinnamon roll was tasty, although a bit dry, but the frosting helped to make up for it.
A couple of noteworthy points: the portion sizes were impressive—some of the largest I've seen in a while. My large tomato juice was truly large, and I was pleasantly surprised to be able to choose the cinnamon roll as a side without any additional charge. How cool is that?
Service was excellent—staff members were friendly and attentive. Prices were reasonable and comparable to my recent breakfast experiences. All in all, we had a satisfying meal, and I look forward to trying lunch there sometime in the future."
