"I’m going to start this by saying I only leaving rating when a place is horrible or phenomenal. My boyfriend and I went to @marysvine followed by @thestudyatmarysvine just outside of Pittsburgh last night. First, the environment is unique for so many reasons. It doesn’t feel like a chain or that you are simply another number coming through the door. Having such a detailed, rich atmosphere, this place makes you feel special, almost regal. The wine room is beautiful to look at, as are the large windows and church organ. The service is knowledgeable and thorough, looking to make sure you have the best experience possible. The wine list is the largest I’ve seen in the area. Being able to see detailed photos of the seasonal food menu on iPads is wonderful. The food is thoughtful, and frankly, exquisite. The flavor of the pairings still makes my mouth water. Unlike other restaurants, we weren’t rushed, making it feel much more like an experience rather than an exchange. At the end of our meal, we quietly looked at each other and asked each other’s ranking of the evening up to that point. We agreed on 9.25 and couldn’t recall another experience we’ve ranked higher. Following dinner we headed downstairs to @thestudyatmarysvine where the entrance is enough to set the tone for the evening. You enter through a painting into what feels like another time. The smell of leather and cigars fills the air while your eyes look over the detailed couches, walls of books, and humidor. The iPad menu allow you to see the options with a beautiful photo and listed details of each crafted cocktail. You feel both relaxed and rewarded in The Study. As we sat in the leather chairs, we decided the rating jumped to 9.75. Although we feel more people need to know about the experience, we also like that it feels like a well kept secret outside of the city. This place would be perfect for a quality, luxurious birthday, anniversary, or intimate reception. I will absolutely recommend this place to everyone. We will be back. "The history of this place is a draw alone I mean how many places can you have drinks and food where George Washington, Paul Revere, and Benjamin Franklin sat to have drinks? The added plus is that the vibe here is great, the prices are amazing, and the bar service was absolutely fantastic. We were able to grab bar seats (thanks to those who shifted down so we could fit! , which is always my personal preference. Devon (sp? the bartender was fantastic FAST despite a very full bar, fun, personable, and hilarious. Really enjoyed her personality, drink making skills, and conversation! We had come from Harpoon, so weren 't starving, but definitely wanted to take advantage of the $1 oysters (M F, 3 6 PM , then heard raves about the clam chowder so ordered that as well plus, I can never turn down truffle fries of any kind so threw in an order of those as well (despite being so full from eating prior . Everything was delicious the oysters were on the medium to large size, super fresh and briny, the clam chowder was DELICIOUS, rich, with tons of clams. The truffle fries were also hugely portioned and really good especially to soak up the drinks consumed prior and while there. As far as drinks went, the cocktail list was really vast and Devon (going to be so mad if I 'm spelling her name wrong! was a pro at crafting them. Some of what we tried included the blood orange marg, G.T.O.T.M. (the gin and tonic of the moment , Fiddlehead IPA, sour beer, and Sauvignon Blanc. Everything was delicious, cold, and was served fast. Overall, this is a really charming, fun place to go and one that I 'll definitely return to for future Boston trips!"

"This review will be broken into three parts. This happened on Sunday, April 30th. 630 pm. Had a company dinner. 25 guest. Atmosphere. Upon entering was greeted promptly. The restaurant was nice and clean and well organized. Medium size crowd. Food. I can only give an opinion on some food since the size of the table is to many. I had a bowl of clam chowder. This was some of the weakest chowder I've had. The based was runny not a thick chowder quality. Few clams and for the price not at worth it. I put this chowder in par with something out of a can.Very disappointed. I had the 21oz bone in ribeye from the prime steak menu with sauteed mushrooms and onions. Price $74. The side was onion rings. Once I got the meal it came on a sizzling cast iron plate. I first noticed that's amount of butter was more then expected. There was the chard marks but no crunch of a crust. The reason was to much butter. First bite. Then meat was tender but the garlic butter was overpowering. It completely over took any type of seasoning or crust. Disappointed. I compared this steak to the one at Morton's that I had last month. Same steak and price. Sorry but Morton's was 10 times better. I could actually taste the seasoning and had a crust. The onion rings were nothing great but was not bad. Had the chocolate cake 3 layers.. excellent. A co worker had the sea bass. I asked if he would recommend it. It said no at all. Not very well done. Other coworkers said their meals were good and some said some of the items were not. The lobster Mac and cheese were underwhelming from two people. Overall feeling was they don't see themselves coming back anytime soon. Service. Sorry not sure who's fault this is, but for 25 guest we had one server. Orders got messed up, meals were missing and I could see the frustration on her and was told she was rude to a few coworkers..one being our manager. I would think with that's big of a group..yes we had called one week before to reserve a table, they would of made sure at least 2 servers to keep things organized. My recommendation is- if your looking for a steak house quality type of steak..go to one that is well known. Here is a nice family meal that's good but not great for the price. If you do go don't go with a large group based on our service.."

"My husband and I visited this Claim Jumper for the first time in at least a decade. Unfortunately, it was nothing like what we had remembered it to be. First, aesthetically, the restaurant had not undergone any renovations within that decade, so everything literally looked as though it had been frozen in time. That includes the grime and dirty windows and window seals. It would be best not to be seated next to them if you’d like to maintain an appetite. We ordered the artichoke dip and chips as an appetizer and that was the first sign that this experience was not going to be like the last time, 10 years prior. The chips were so thin and bland, it’s hard to understand how they could be considered for a dip as thick as artichoke dip. The actual dip tasted of bacon grease and absolutely no other flavor. So that experience was a complete L (loss). Onto the dinner—my husband had a marinated lemon and herb shrimp with a baked potato and Brussels sprouts. While the presentation was actually very appetizing, The sprouts were literally hard as a rock—so much so that I had to show our waitress that we could not even put our fork through it. It seemed as though they were frozen and dropped into a sauté pan and literally blackened on both sides with no regard to actually cooking the inside. Awful. The shrimp were a bit soggy, and the baked potato was, well—like any other baked potato…lol. I opted for the factory burger and fries. Both the burger and fries were over cooked and had absolutely no flavor at all. A complete waste of calories. Last, we ordered the pecan butter cake, which came with a scoop of ice cream on top. To our disappointment the cake was literally cold to the touch, as if it had been brought straight from the freezer to the plate. Despite the coldness, the butter cake was actually fairly good. Not sure if that’s because of how extremely bad everything else was, but I was certainly not terribly disappointed in the taste. It was crunchy on the outside and moist inside. Overall, this restaurant gave me the feeling of being on its last leg."

"There were adults and kids for Mother’s Day brunch, I made the reservations so early I had no clue it was a prix fixe menu only. We were planning on ordering apps and drinks by the fire; instead we had to have a course meal with no table! The food was good, the event planning was poor. I had to grab a table from my car for my kids to eat on Additionally, for there were only options with no vegetable or fruit or milk option! Chicken tenders and fries or macaroni only- neither very healthy (I get it most kids don’t eat the best, but mine would have eaten the salmon and I gave them most of my meal and brought my own vegetables as a back up). Service was very slow, understandable with our table being the furthest away from the main building. Our server was so sweet and we tried to help her as much as possible find places to put our food and drinks. We could tell she too was frustrated with lack of space for guests to eat that reserved a fire table. We just moved to town in October the outdoor space is perfect for a family with young kids that don’t sit very long. The stage looks great, we will probably try coming again when there is live music, as toddlers can be loud, so we enjoy when other guests cannot hear them As for the martinis- they were great as well! Will try again, however we are usually “regulars” once we find a place that works for our family with small kids as we enjoy dining out, however if service remains super slow, our kids won’t make it (usually just of sitting, if that)."
