"Not a good experience. I came here before and loved everything. I brought my partner to celebrate close to our anniversary. We both love Japanese food, our favourite. My partner is a cook, so his expectations are higher than average. He was disappointed, and even I felt embarrassed bringing him. The rolls were MUCH smaller than the first time I came. Like half the size. Great flavours though. Scallop ceviche was destroyed by an overwhelming amount of spicy heat (leche de tigre is so delicate and delicious, why ruin it? . Waygu tartare was my personal favourite both trips, however the second time was cut too thick to be a carpaccio. Still, amazing. Brussel sprouts were good. The most offensive dish was the cod the fish itself was great. The skin was soggy zero char or crisp. The best part! Devastating. The sauce was terrible and thin no yuzu, miso or any distinguished flavour detected at all. Just yellow salt water. The peas were both wrinkled and hard. How something can be over and undercooked at the same time, no idea. It was our big ticket item and grande finale (we usually get the sablefish options where we go . It was also the turning point where we gave up on kasa moto. The server was fine, a bit forgetful and waited too long to course our food. We waited 15 mins for the next course twice. We didn’t ask for coursed service nor were asked, but either the kitchen took way too long or the server made that decision for us. We came hungry, left pretty upset after a $300 meal with drinks and tip. We gave our server more than 20% because mistakes happened, but she genuinely cared and tried. Other guests were being rude to her. Remember, service is a reflection of the team, not just the server. Please, reflect. We would be happy to come often and regularly if our second visit was like my first. Really let down here."
