"The menu at Nonna Lucia's is extremely overpriced. The dishes would still be expensive even at half the price. After a recommendation from my barber in Thomaston, my family and I decided to try Nonna Lucia's. We were told that the family has been in business for a long time and that the chef is from Italy. However, the daily menu was inconsistent and the appetizers were priced as high as entrees. The escarole and pasta dish was over $15, which was too expensive for the portion. Even though I love this dish, I couldn't justify paying that much. The entrees were all priced at over $22, which was also too high. During our visit, my wife and I ordered the fettuccine alfredo for $16 and the gnocchi for $17. The gnocchi seemed authentic, but the dish was not from the southern region of Italy as advertised. I made the mistake of choosing from the daily special menu; otherwise, I would have had nothing to order. I opted for the veal with paprika, but ended up with long hot peppers instead. When I asked the waitress about the veal, she didn't know and had to go ask the chef. The bill came out to $27 for a small portion of veal and a few peppers served over ziti. Unfortunately, we won't be returning to Nonna Lucia's and I may have to find a new barber."

"We came on Sunday at 2:30. Right from the start we got our bread, olive oil, and water. Maigin was our server and let me tell you, she knows what she is doing! Got us our drinks and took our our order. Appetizers came out, we got the fried mozzarella and the fried calamari. Both so fresh! Same with our entrees, we got chicken francese, alfredo, manicotti, and chicken and fries. Everything was piping hot fresh out the kitchen. Maigin got everything we needed! More bread, containers, refills she was on top of it. Giving us top notch service while having multiple other tables and helping bag up to-go orders. Maigin was just fantastic and we hope to get her as our waitress next time we come back."

"TL;DR Food is nothing but average: too much garlic and overcooked. Service is average and nothing better. I got to get this out of the way first, out server was SO ANNOYING. Every single time he came up to our table, he would ask us if we were celebrating something. Every time we'd say no. Every time he kept asking. It clearly shows inattentiveness. We ordered a bunch of dishes. We ordered oysters Rockefeller, escargot and frog legs for starters. The oysters were very good, but the escargot and frog legs had WAY too much garlic. I'm typing this hours later and still have the taste of garlic in my mouth from these two freaking dishes. You literally couldn't taste anything but garlic. Many of us subbed the house salad for our entree for the onion soup. The onion soup is very good here as many have pointed out. I can confirm that it is very good. I got the salmon, and the rest of the people in my party got the rack of lamb, halibut and chicken cordon Bleu. The salmon was okay. The cranberry topping you could barely taste. As a result the salmon was quite bland and it was also slightly overcooked. The mashed potatoes were decent: they were silky smooth. The rack of lab was clearly way over cooked from the photos. It was definitely medium well instead of medium rare. The portion size was good, but it definitely wasn't salted enough and tasted a little gamey, when I tried it. I was told the halibut was good, but the chicken cordon Bleu wasn't worth finishing. We threw all our leftovers away as we didn't think anything was worthwhile saving."

"I have a new favorite place! The Calamari was so perfect. It was not excessively seasoned and the bread was not too thick. The immersive sauce is perfectly balanced with it. Minestrone was my favorite. The best I ever had. I've never been a fan of Minestrone, but it was cold and if that's how it should be, I'm now. I had a court that the server recommended Fruti Diamari. It was crazy, crazy good. It had pasta with shrimp, scallops, mussels and squid. The sauce was not excessively seasoned and thin enough that the taste was not over the seafood flavor. We tried the chocolate Cannolis and Tiramisu to dessert. Excellent Tiramisu. My husband doesn't even drink coffee, but he loved it. And I like Olive Garden, but it has so much butter, salt and cheese in all dishes. I feel more chic with every bite. I've never been to Italy, but that's exactly what I tasted HOPE. I can't say enough good things!!!"

"Really love portofino restaurant in bethel ct, we’ve been coming to this location for years, yes we’re locals our favorites are : fried calamari, Cesar salad with grilled chicken was amazing( amazing juicy chard chicken) wifey had beet salad with fried goat cheese, it as spectacular, MiL had Tucson salad has pecans , fig , gorgozola cheese, so delicious . "I almost loved everything I got here except the over fried the shrimp couldn’t eat it at all. For everyone that likes sweet wine cupcake wine sweet not dry sweet. "Veal marsala was good, but not served with pasta; “new york strip topped with oyster, shiitake portobello mushrooms in a brown cognac sauce with roasted potatoes” was Ok, but the sauce was over strong, bitter, overpowered the potatoes which were covered by sauce so not sure how they were. Seemed understaffed, and staff did not seem very happy or friendly except the hostess. Maple old fashion was OK, not top shelf Rye by any means, very watery; and the maple syrup was a thick layer along the bottom of the glass so not properly mixed."

"I was thrilled to discover Bella Mia, an Italian restaurant offering fresh and high-quality seafood dishes. I was amazed by the Paccheri Allo Scoglio I ordered, which featured three large scallops, jumbo golf shrimps, vongoles, calamari, mussels, and a delicious marinara sauce. The wide pipe pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and complimented the seafood beautifully. I couldn't believe the reasonable prices considering the exceptional quality of the dishes. Throughout the week, I continued to explore the menu and was blown away by the lobster ravioli on Wednesday and the octopus dishes on Friday. Sal, the owner, even invited me to join him and his wife for a Margherita pizza and other delicious treats. Their hospitality and incredible cooking skills made my dining experience unforgettable. "UPDATED REVIEW: So tired of the staff at the EMPTY restaurant on non-busy evening telling me they have given me plain rolls, and finding out later after tipping on my takeout order that once I’ve arrived home, the stuff is slavered in garlic (aka: not plain). Of course, even having spent almost $50 with tax and tip for two entrees, it still isn’t worth my additional time to drive back and complain. Such is the calculus of providing poor service. "Made a reservation, but didn’t need it. We turned out to be very late and called they said whenever you get here is fine. The ability to get in and the jazz musician were the only good things about our experience. Tried ordering the ‘prime’ filet to be told they were out. Ordered lobster, but the waitress came back and said they were out of that too and how about the crab? Fine, the crab it is! Dad ordered the prime ribeye chop for $72 medium rare and it came medium well. The server agreed and offered to redo it only to return with the same steak arguing that ‘the chef said when you cut it in the center it’s medium rare!’ Dad is sort of a beef aficionado and frankly you never tell the customer they are wrong...especially after you take their plate back to the kitchen! My guess is they were out of that too and it couldn’t be remade. The crab bordered on rancid. They kindly took that off the bill, but I worried all night that my son was going to get sick! There were fruit flies swarming around our drinks. I just can’t make this stuff up. No wonder it was so easy to get in. I am not one to write reviews, but when prompted by opentable I just can’t let this go...or others go to this restaurant. They tried to be accommodating, but you can’t fix poor and ailing quality. The bill was over $300 for 3 adults and 2 kids and most of the drinks were on a bar tab. Don’t do it!"
