"I have visited this restaurant multiple times in the past, but it had been a while since my last visit. I was disappointed this time around as it seemed like the establishment had not been maintained well since my last visit a year ago. The atmosphere was a bit dirty and dingy, and the food did not meet my expectations. The dates had a slightly burnt taste, the pan con tomate was missing the cheese I had requested, and lacked flavor. However, the fish was cooked perfectly. The croquettes and stuffed peppers were just okay. Overall, I was a little let down as nothing really stood out or wowed me."

"Had a wonderful experience! We had to cancel our initial reservation due to car trouble on our way down. We headed there later hoping for a seat at the bar. The hostess was most gracious and got us a small table. Our server was wonderful, explaining the dishes and answering our questions. Thumbs up on all the food. Highlights included the smoked oysters, peekytoe crab salad and barbecued shrimp. Cocktails and wine pairings worked beautifully with the food. We've only been in town for one day, but convinced that the Ordinary is one of the best in Charleston."

"The service and food in the dining room are excellent, making it a must-visit for seafood lovers. The bar area is enjoyable as well, but be cautious of the bartender in her sixties, whose name tag has the initials DP, if you're just looking for a quick drink. It's quite an experience to see a bartender wandering around, collecting coasters and dancing for five minutes before finally acknowledging your presence to take your order. It makes me wonder if her middle name is Isabell!"

"This was our second visit to this restaurant. My wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon. I began with four raw oysters, which were extremely cold and fresh. My wife opted for a side salad as her starter, and she thoroughly enjoyed it. We each ordered mixed drinks, which were excellent. I had the filet, while she chose the roast chicken, and both dishes were cooked to perfection. The service was outstanding, and our waitress was a wonderful conversationalist. She even brought us some champagne to help us celebrate our special evening, which was a lovely gesture. We will definitely return!"

"WOW! We were celebrating my dad’s eightieth birthday, and Muse made it an incredible experience. Donny took amazing care of us from cocktails to dessert. The food was superb and the ambiance was warm and energized. We had one fantastic dish after the other and were able to share them all family style with the table so we got to sample everything. It was hard to pick a favorite. Highly recommend."

"This charming little spot offers a lovely harbor view. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. We decided to try the soft shell crab since it was in season and my wife had never had it before. We also ordered the she-crab soup, which was packed with crab. The shrimp and grits were delicious and perfectly seasoned. Overall, this place is definitely worth a visit for a relaxing meal."

"Two out of the three of us did not enjoy their entrees. Our daughter had a chicken entree that she said was overly salty, My husband had the flounder entree, and while he said it was good, it was a very skimpy portion. We all enjoyed our salads and the bread, and our daughter enjoyed the dessert. I ordered the crab cake which was very good, but it could have been excellent with a little less heat (which overwhelmed the delicate flavor of the crab). Also, we were charged $18 for a Manhattan drink for which I had requested to be made with house bourbon (a little steep, I think). The atmosphere was nice, but we had to ask our server to turn down the volume of the music a little so we could enjoy our conversation. It was a nice touch to bring us a rose and complimentary cognac after the meal. All in all, it was not a bad dining experience, just not a great one."

"A treasure hidden in plain sight. Although the decor is a bit dated, the atmosphere is comfy and inviting. We shared oysters rockefeller. The oysters were large and perfectly done. Plenty of spinach and delicious hollandaise. My husband had the seafood pasta that came loaded with big shrimp, large scallops, and a mound of fresh crab. I had the Parmesan grouper that hit all the right spots with tender fresh fish and a crusty Parmesan cheese top. Salads were fresh and included a variety of veg. Rolls were warm and tasty. The meal also came with fresh crisp green beans and rice pilaf, which was loaded with flavor. Nice accessible wine list. Our server was welcoming and attentive. We will definitely be back."

"Would have given 5 stars in past. Travel to HH multiple times a year and this was always a place we’d visit. Today, we ordered at 12. The person taking order had to repeat order 3 times. Fine. Said 15 minutes. Arrived and order was wrong. Asked how long it would take to add the forgotten items. 5 minutes. Waited another 25. Told them half way to cancel bc we had to get back for our son to join a class call. They wouldn’t “couldn’t” cancel. Asked for some partial refund or anything bc it was issue after issue. Ultimately, the owner was right there and didn’t seem to care. Want to quibble over $20 when we spend $300+ a week with you each time we’re here? No problem, go ahead and be a foolish business owner but we will never return. Food isn’t what it used to be anyway and hopefully more Asian options will become available in time. As business owners, I’d be embarrassed if my team promised something and failed spectacularly. And you can be darn sure I’d make it right. Update: They forgot rice for the rice dishes, and the photo shows how much broth they gave for the ramen. Pathetic. They must be struggling and it’s no wonder. That’s what happens when you don’t take care of your customers and try to take shortcuts and be cheap."

"We never even got to try the food. The hostess team was very rude and condescending. On November 21, 2022, at 2 PM, we were seated at a booth, but my husband couldn't get into it due to his bad hip. After feeling embarrassed, we walked back to the front of the restaurant to request a table instead. However, the hostesses acted as if we were a bother and didn't acknowledge us or offer any friendly assistance. A simple smile and a kind word would have made a big difference. We ended up leaving and won’t be returning."

"I 'll start off by giving credit where it 's due. The food had a wonderful taste. The service really took away from it. Had reservations for 7:00 and checked in at 7:05. No big deal, was seated right away. Very important information is to noted that several tables around us were seated just minutes after us. The table next to us was seated immediately after us but had their drink order taken before us. Once our drink order was given it took the bar a very long time to make our drinks. I can 't knock the bartender on the time it took as I 'm sure they were busy, but both of our drinks were poorly made. My old fashion in particular was only half filled and hardly had enough alcohol in it to make it an old fashioned. Later on I couldn 't finish it as it was mainly just drinking bitters and I order a straight whiskey. We ordered mussels as an appetizer. It took over an hour to get that to the table. Remember we were sat down around 7:05. At 8:45 exactly I had to find my waitress to ask her where our food was that we ordered over an hour ago. Miraculously she came back with it almost immediately. From the very first bite it was obvious that it was made a while ago and had been sitting under a heat lamp. I had the chicken two ways which tasted amazing! It 's just too bad that the chicken was super dry from sitting out so long. We hurried through the food so we could finally get out of there. I have spent 2 hours in a restaurant before with no problems, but not when we only have 2 people and 2 courses. Very bad experience with the service that will probably keep us from coming back to try again. Parking: There is a pay-to-park lot directly behind the restaurant off of George St."
