"On a sizzlingly hot Monday afternoon in San Antonio, my wife and I were headed home from a movie on Huebner Oaks when we remembered a Pei Wei Asian Kitchen nearby. We have not been there since 2019 and were surprised that it was still there. We walked into an A/C-cooled restaurant and looked over their menu. It has changed since the last time we were here. Unfortunately, they had no beef to serve so we settled for chicken. We should have just left after that but we wanted to try their food after a few years. Well, I'd like to say the food has gotten better but it's not any better than the last time we came here. The servings are smaller and of course, gotten more expensive as well. The service was efficient and the place was very clean. There were more workers than diners when we were there but their take-out business was brisk. We probably have outgrown the food at this eatery. The food is pretty much geared toward younger folks and their younger stomachs. It's been nice to see the place again but most likely, we won't return. We enjoyed lots of good meals here in the past and we can't recapture what was there years and years ago. So much of the world has changed and Pei Wei has changed as well."

"I had a delicious meal at the restaurant! I opted for the Family Sharing meal, which took a bit of time to prepare, but I ended up meeting some fantastic people during the wait. The food was definitely worth it! I really enjoyed the platter that included cauliflower rice, Mongolian beef, noodles, special chicken, and donuts—there was something for everyone to enjoy. The fortune cookies were a bit unusual; it seems Pei Wei has crafted a unique marketing campaign involving them. Be sure to check out the pictures! A little insider tip: if you order takeout inside the restaurant, they offer free drinks."

"A bit disappointed with our last visit to this location. I'm not at all ignorant to the fact that there is cross contamination at restaurants. Hey, I'm not vegan, but definitely still do not eat meat. We substituted our chicken for crispy tofu, again not ignorant to cross contamination, but there were so many pieces of pork or beef in our entree that it was consciously uncomfortable to consume. Then there were the long plastic strands, which seemed like a piece of produce net or some sort of cleaning utensil debris. The service and speed were great but it still doesn't make up for wasted time, money, and empty stomachs."

"I used to be the biggest fan of this place for years but not anymore. The quality of the food has gone down a lot and they took away all the good menu items. "Great Gluten-free Asian Food!. I recently learned of my gluten intolerance (less than 6 months) so I am still learning where I can safely eat. Pei Wei was a joy to visit compared to other restaurants. They were aware of gluten-free requirements and practices, had a gluten-free menu on hand and (most importantly) made me feel as though not only was my gluten-free requirement not a problem but that I was a valued customer. In addition, the food was very good! I had Vietnamese Rolls and Spicy Chicken, both were flavorful and tasty. This order was take-out, and my wait was less than 15 mins. I look forward to visiting Pei Wei again."

"I had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for some time because they offer healthier Chinese dishes, and it definitely lived up to my expectations. Yes, it is a bit more expensive than other places, but I’d rather spend a little extra for fresh and delicious food. We started with the chicken dumpling soup, which was excellent and perfectly warmed. My wife ordered the Vietnamese chicken salad, while I tried the Pei Wei Better Orange Chicken. Everything we had was fresh, flavorful, and juicy, and I didn’t experience the guilty feeling that often comes with eating out. If you're in search of fresh, tasty, and healthier Chinese cuisine, this is the spot for you."

"This restaurant is a more affordable and casual version of P.F. Chang's. One standout dish is their Hot Sour soup, which, while not particularly spicy or sour, boasts great flavor and chunky pieces of meat in the rich broth. It's quite well done! A large part of their menu features various proteins (chicken, beef, shrimp) offered in either small or regular portions, prepared in a range of styles such as Mongolian, lemon pepper, sriracha, and kung pao, among others. Everything I've tried so far has been good. There are many more items to explore, so be sure to check out their online menu. Overall, the restaurant is quick, clean, and efficient in its newly constructed space, making it a perfect spot for a reasonably fast lunch with freshly made entrées—definitely a step up from Panda down the street."

"So we've eaten in this place since it opened. And in the beginning, with litter could not get enough of this place, and when they added the orange chicken to the menu, we were thrilled as well as the shrimp app. Unfortunately in recent years, especially since Covid the dishes have lost their ?spark? In my opinion. Also I have no idea why, but the orange chicken tastes completely different and not in a good way. I'll tell you, 1 thing the staff here have ALWAYS was super friendly and easy to talk. Will help and do things right when something goes wrong with an order. Managers here are always great. I... I just changed super-damped flavors. And they're not almost as chic as they were once. When we get the occasional voucher, we still go as I still enjoy the Lettuce wraps and shrimp app. And if you never tried this place, I would say go at least once, you can find a court or app that you come back!"

"It's not everyday I choose to write a negative review. We were so excited to eat at Pei Wei as we don't have this restaurant chain near us anymore, but we used to visit often when we lived near multiple locations. My first gripe is that the website stated they were open till 9pm but we found they closed at 8pm. Lucky for us...or some thought, we got there at 7:52pm. The first thing was they told us we couldn't eat in the restaurant since they were going to be closing. This irked me, as I was taught during my restaurant employment days that if a customer crossed your threshold at 1 minute to closing you took them through the entire dining experience as if they were the first customer of the day. Well, fortunate for us, we were planning to take it togo.To make a long story short, they messed up our order and didn't include one of the entries that they specifically asked us to make a substitution on, and when we went back to the store, they basically said the kitchen was closed and the best they could do was refund the dish. I eventually convinced the manager to see if they just forgot to include it since we know they prepared it. It wasn't there, but there were to other entries that were there that he offered up. (Maybe their employee meal). I thought that was a Nobel offer of the manager to try and correct the issue, and it was very appreciated.Unfortunately, when we ate the food all of our entries we fair at best and did not live up to our expectations and memory. I'm not sure if it was due to the restaurant location, or more of a systemic quality degradation of the franchise itself. All that to say, we will greatly think twice before making our way to a Pei Wei."

"Watch the salt!. Every time I eat at Pei Wei I enjoy my meal. I usually get the same thing: vegetable egg rolls, hot and sour soup, and Mongolian beef. I got an email to update my acct info and noticed on their website that they provide nutritional facts. The calorie count was not too bad, but as my eyes rolled over to the sodium column, my jaw dropped. I added up how many mg of sodium are in my favorite meal and it was astounding.... 4730 mg! I am going to think twice before I eat that again. I know that the sodium levels are going to be high, but I did not think it would be the amount I am to consume in 2 days!"

"I really like this place. The food is really good, and they will accommodate special orders without problem. As a subsidiary of PF Chang's, the food is similar, but the convenience and slightly lower price makes this preferable to me. The employees are friendly and the table service is nice, without having to wait to order. There is also a small patio, and when the weather is pleasant it's a very nice place to sit. They also offer a separate to-go section (just off to the side, really) if you don't have time to stay. I live in Greensboro, and this is the closest location to me. I've inquired a few times but they don't seem to have interest in a Greensboro or even a Winston-Salem store. Fortunately, I travel to or through the area about once a month, so when time permits I will stop for lunch."

"I've always been a fan of Fast China Bear. As a ride-share driver, I've heard about it from customers, and my curiosity was piqued. Is it better than P.E.? That's a bold claim for a chain restaurant. Yesterday, my oldest son and I decided to check it out. We ordered the family platter, which was enough to feed a family of six! The service was great, and I was really impressed with the Mongolian beef. The meat was tender and cooked perfectly, and I savored every bite. They even allowed us to dine in, which was a nice touch. My only complaint is that I've now set my expectations high for all Chinese restaurants, especially P.E. Their prices are slightly higher, but the quality and portion sizes definitely make it worth it!"

"I went there for the first time today. I was not welcome when i entered. I place my order to go. The lady the casher did not tell me if it would be brought my food if I had to go pick it up from a counter. Ordered sesame chicken with Fried Rice. It got home.It was dry.There was no juice or no liquid with the sesame chicken. The egg rolls and the wontons were good. I wish sweet chili spice to dip them in, because that's kind of hot and I don't do hot. Unsure if I want to try them again."

"I had the Poke Bowl and it was absolutely delicious! The picture doesn't do it justice cause I had already mixed it, but trust me when I tell you this was amazing. I have been to Pei Wei aboht a dozen times and I think they taste great. But this Poke Bowl took it to a new level... Phenomenal!! I don't live close to a Pei Wei, but when I travel through Henderson (or anywhere else that has one), I will make the stop. It's worth it!"
