"This is our new favorite local BYOB spot. We've been twice now. The staff is very warm and friendly and the food is superb. If you like well crafted food and are willing to pay for very interesting tasting, beautifully plated food then this is a great place to go. We've been twice and both times they have been great with dietary restrictions as well. It's charming, casual enough to walk in (if you can get in!) but also a great place to take visiting friends and relatives or for a special night out or date. The Wayne area needed a place like this. We'll keep going back for sure."

"We came on an Al Fresco nights last night is September 12) where they close the road to cars and seating outside is expanded. Read below for parking info) Our menu was quite extensive. Lots of vegetarian options including egg plant dishes. We ordered Tikka Masala with Paneer and chicken Tandoori. The smells were sublime! And taste was as well! The chef came by to chat. I told the waitress we may need to come here every night for dinner. There was a steady stream of families picking up to go orders and tables were always full. I think we found a neighborhood favorite! Not sure I should be telling people about it? There?s a big parking lot at La Z Boy. If that is empty then there is street parking closer up. We passed a ping pong game, cornhole, and a big connect 4. Tandoori takes a little longer to cook so we people watched. Quite fun!"

"My husband and I come here somewhat regularly, and have never had a bad experience. Everything has always been absolutely delicious. Also, we just had our wedding cake done through them, which was absolutely incredible. It was so good that guests had multiple slices and we've gotten so many compliments on how amazing all three flavors we chose were (matcha, strawberry, and vanilla). Strawberry was the crowd favorite but all three were perfect. Customer service was also great through the entire process, everyone was so wonderful to work with."

"The staff at the restaurant are exceptionally kind and courteous. The food is generally excellent, although I found some dishes a bit too spicy for my palate (my husband, however, thought it was just right). A simple improvement for the buffet could be to reduce the spice levels in the dishes and provide spicy chutneys on the side for those who enjoy more heat. This change could help attract a wider range of customers. There were plenty of vegetarian options available for me, but unfortunately, there were no labels. It would be helpful to know that what looks like cauliflower is actually cauliflower and not chicken. Despite this minor issue, I had a wonderful time and will definitely return. Next time, I plan to prepare my stomach with Protonix beforehand. Overall, it would be great if the vegetarian options were labeled for better clarity."

"If you need a birthday or special occasion cake order from this guys! I chose this bakery cause it’s right on a downtown and make an order before 2 days (all others need a week before ! . I ordered twice from ‘french collection’ and what I like is the taste (it’s amazing and amount of sugar is minimum! First I ordered a raspberry cream jam with liquor and the second one was a tiramisu cake with espresso, rum etc. Super delicious, definitely recommend! btw they didn’t charge me for a ‘happy birthday’ wishes words on a cake and 8’r (8-10 people cake was 40$."

"Feb 2022We came here several times before this review. All the food tasted great, with some things they could work on. The prices are pretty average for a boutique bakery (more expensive than a supermarket) and definitely worth it. This place is pretty small but obviously very popular. The staff are friendly and bag your purchases for you (even if you bring your own bag). All the staff wear masks and there are no dividers or occupancy restrictions. They provide hand sanitizer at the door. Most of the buns and pastries are on the shelves around the store. They are periodically restocked by the staff throughout the day, but certain favorites still go fast. If you don't see something you want on the shelves, just ask a staff member if it's available. On the shelves to the right are the breads, croissants, and cookies. They have a fridge in the front left corner with the cheesecake slices, the sliced and whole chiffon rolls, drinks, and some pastries. Behind the counter are the puff pastries, cakes/tarts, and whole cheesecakes.I admit we first came here for the cream puffs and the matcha stuff. The cream puffs were bigger than expected but the inside filling was pretty watery/not thick enough. Either they didn't whip it enough or the storage space wasn't cold enough and the cream reverted back to liquid form. They all tasted very good though. For the matcha, the one with the most matcha flavor was the cream puff. The matcha cheesecake, chiffon cake, and normal fruit cake had very little matcha flavor. Kinda disappointing though they were very good otherwise. All the buns and cakes were fluffy and light. Though the matcha cheesecake was too dense (maybe matcha powder is too heavy The regular cheesecake was awesome. The pastries with fillings had generous amounts of fillings and were pretty good. The taro and red bean paste fillings were very delicious. The donuts were not too sweet with a chewy donut texture. Note when you get a whole cheesecake, the cheesecake is wrapped in this thin cloth that keeps it moist (very important for a Japanese style cheesecake For the normal (birthday) cakes, note they are all fruit cakes. So they have fruit both on top and inside the cake. They also use whipped cream frosting instead of icing, making the cakes lighter and less sweet than typical American cakes. We got a 6 matcha cake. And while the cake itself was light and fluffy, it was more fruit and whipped cream than cake. And the matcha flavor was practically nonexistent. It was still good cake, but disappointing. Note the box the cakes come in are very sturdy and I think they use one size box for all the cake sizes.Overall, will definitely come back for some pastries, cheesecakes, and chiffon rolls."

"We frequent a number of Indian restaurants, but this one in the Castro stands out as the best in the area and one of the top choices in San Francisco in my opinion. Despite being slightly higher in price, it remains reasonably priced by SF standards. The fact that it's not as popular as some other spots in the Castro may be due to its nicer ambiance and elevated price point, but it's worth it. One of the reasons I enjoy this restaurant is that you can always find a table without much hassle. Although I'm hesitant to write a glowing review for fear of it becoming too busy, I believe they deserve the recognition for their excellent service and delicious food. Every visit has been exceptional, with classic Indian dishes cooked to perfection. The samosas and idli have a crispy exterior and a tender interior, while the breads are soft and flaky. The portions are generous, and we always end up overeating and skipping dessert. The service is quick, attentive, and friendly. The bartenders may be new, so be patient and offer constructive feedback if needed. I truly love this restaurant and will definitely return."

"I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this restaurant. The service was exceptional, the beers were delicious, and the food was incredible. I ordered the beef udon along with a roll, and both were perfection—the noodles were cooked just right, and the beef was tender and flavorful. I also couldn't resist trying some sake, which was excellent as well. Although I'm only in town for nine days, this has been the best restaurant I've visited so far."

"The service and ambiance here was excellent. The menu was very well rounded. We got filet mignon and Royal Red Shrimp to share with salads, sauteed garlic mushrooms and baked potato. There were baskets of a variety of breads and two kinds of butter. Truffles were provided at the end of the meal. It was a beautiful dining experience!"

"I’ve had pretty good ceviche here a few times years ago. Stopped in for lunch today and had the most acidic ceviche I’ve ever had in my life. It burned my mouth. The waitress never checked on me. I had to ask her to basically beg her to come check on my table. I told her what was going on and she told me that she would ask the cook to fix it. They sent the same ceviche back with more lime juice. She never even asked if it was fixed. I packed up what I could salvage, paid, and left. I would not bother going back when there are plenty of other places in Perth Amboy with better food and better service."

"Called ahead and asked what vegan items they had in on that day. Was told there was a mango cake, carrot cake, and pineapple/coconut cake. Whe we arrived we waited around for about 5 minutes before a staff member could free themselves from their task and assist us. When asked what was vegan, he ostentatiously gestured to a shelf we had to repeat that we wanted to know what the unlabeled desserts were. No carrot cake, he explained that the person that makes display cakes left multipl days ago how long have those cakes been sitting there then? The pineapple/coconut cake was a fair price and very good without being too sweet, but I would not go through that hassle again"

"We made reservations for an anniversary dinner. Ruth's Chris doesn't disappoint. Food was great, service was awesome and the ambiance was nice. This was a first visit to this location on LaCantera Parkway. Downside was my vehicle being broke into and ruining the rest of our evening plans. Signs said surveyed by camera - no necessarily true. The buildings are surveyed. Of course, not really the fault of Ruth's Chris but waiting an hour to report it since we live just outside SA was definitely a downer. Next time - UBER for sure."
