"Let’s start with the positives. The staff at Bonwit is incredible. They truly went above and beyond for my event. I reserved the beautiful Anastasia room for 40 guests, and it was the ideal venue for the baby shower. The space is both elegant and stunning, and I was able to decorate it to my taste. The manager was exceptionally kind and allowed me to decorate the day before, giving me as much time as I needed.
Whenever I had a concern, the staff was always available and addressed it promptly. They were organized and professional throughout the event. They even permitted a live harpist to perform at the shower, which added a lovely touch. I was really impressed with their service and would have given them a solid five stars—if only the food had met my expectations.
Considering the price I paid, I anticipated exceptional food, but I was unfortunately disappointed. The first course—salad and bread—was good, and the second course, penne alla vodka, was also enjoyable. However, the main course of chicken lacked flavor and was quite disappointing. My boyfriend ordered the eggplant and didn’t like it at all. With five options to choose from for the main course, one of my brothers chose the veal and found it unimpressive as well. My family was candid and said the food was just mediocre. The cannoli cream cake and coffee were merely okay.
Overall, I had a wonderful time with my family and friends, but perhaps brunch would have been a better choice for the event. I would rate this place 3.5 stars. For me to give a restaurant five stars, everything—from the food and service to the ambiance—needs to be top-notch, and unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to that standard."
