"Lackluster Beverage Experience Marred Our Anticipated Dining ExperienceReview:My girlfriend and I undertook a lengthy 12 hour journey from Dallas, Texas to Colorado Springs, lured by the prospect of convenience and a cherished indulgence. We specifically selected a hotel across from your restaurant, ensuring easy accessibility, as we planned to unwind over a few drinks and a shared dish while waiting for our room to become available.Recently diagnosed as a diabetic, I've had to forego my favorite drink, the Old Fashioned, for the past three months. The anticipation of enjoying this beloved cocktail once again was a highlight of our trip, making our visit to your restaurant especially significant.Upon our arrival, we found the Indian theme charming and enjoyed the quality of the shared dish we ordered. We were, however, disappointed to find that there were no available outlets to plug in my laptop, nor was there Wi Fi to aid our intent to get some work done. These issues were, unfortunately, precursors to our biggest letdown the beverage service. The Old Fashioned I ordered was a far cry from the classic blend of whiskey, sugar, water, and bitters traditionally garnished with an orange slice. Instead, I received a disappointingly small glass with a piece of ice, a lime, and a meager amount of whiskey. The steep $25 price for this drink, which was even higher than our food bill, added to our dismay. Moreover, an unexpected $6 charge for water further inflated our bill and our dissatisfaction. Our journey began with high spirits and anticipation, but our overall experience at your restaurant, marred by the poor quality of drinks, lack of basic facilities like Wi Fi and power outlets, and unfair pricing, fell woefully short of our expectations. We believe there's a significant opportunity for improvement in delivering value for money, upholding the integrity of classic cocktail recipes, and providing basic amenities to ensure a satisfactory dining experience."

"I have been dining at this restaurant for 10+ years. I like their food. I always tip 20%. Only recently have I found out that they already include 15% service fee in the overall bill and I tipped 20% over that. It would be nice that they would tell me about this charge. Instead, on the credit card signature page, they still leave you with a blank to tip. I am writing this review to remind others. updated review: In response to the response from the owner: Dear Taste of Indian, I apologize for not reading the itemized receipt carefully. I apologize for not knowing that it is a standard procedure to charge 15% service fee for a large group. I thought it would be a good idea to bring all my 9 students plus 1 colleague to dine at your restaurant so that they could bring their families later. That's how much I like your restaurant and your food. Clarification 1: I didn't receive a refund and I no longer feel that I need it. The important thing is that my students and I had a great time on November 4th to celebrate they completion of a program. Both the food and the experience totally worth the $32.09 service charge and the $50 tip. Clarification 2: no one brought the receipt to my table. I went to the front desk and I asked for a receipt. A woman printed it out and gave it to me there. Therefore I didn't have time to read the receipt. Again, my mistake. I will be more careful from now on. We love your food. I would appreciate that no one spit in my food next time I am there. Five stars for your food. Five stars for your service. Peace. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"As usual, we were asked to wait, and we settled into the waiting area. After 30 minutes, I inquired with the woman at the counter and discovered that our name had been crossed off the list. When I asked about it, she was unreasonably rude, claiming she had called us four times, which wasn’t true since we were seated just outside. Instead of offering an apology or seating us when the next opportunity arose, her demeanor was aggressive and dismissive. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but if that’s the case, she shouldn’t be working at the front desk. Once we finally sat down for our lunch, the food was just average, and many of the food stations were empty. There was a noticeable delay in refilling the dishes, and it was particularly challenging to get the dosa and uttapam, as the kitchen seemed overwhelmed. Overall, the kitchen couldn’t keep up with the volume of customers, leading to a disappointing experience. We voiced our concerns to the staff at the front counter regarding the shortage of food, but rather than addressing our complaints or offering assistance, they bluntly acknowledged the slow service and suggested that if we were unhappy, we shouldn't pay for the buffet. Given their popularity and longevity, they should be better equipped to manage the crowd and kitchen efficiently. Ultimately, we left feeling unsatisfied. The food was merely okay, and I can't see myself returning anytime soon. However, as a small consolation, the owner graciously charged us for only one person instead of two on our way out, which was the only redeeming aspect of the visit."

"From the first moment we walked in, there were already 4 people sitting around waiting for their to-go orders looking real mad. I asked one of them what's going on and apparently they had been waiting for at least 45 minutes. Not a good sign, but we dined in anyway. The waiter who took our order didn't write anything down (impressive at first), repeated our order back to us 3 times, but still got the orders wrong in the end. We asked for only one of the dishes to be spicy, and they made the dish that wasn't supposed to be spicy like level 4 out of 5 spicy (we only asked for level 2), and the dish that was supposed to be level 2 spicy had zero spice. After scraping off the level 4 spicy sauce that it was doused in, the Chicken Tandoori was finally edible but fast approaching room temperature, and there was not enough meat there to warrant a $13.99 price tag. Also, do not order the Mango Dal unless you like tepid, flavorless bean soup. You'd think it would at least taste like mango, right? Nope, no flavor whatsoever, and definitely not worth $10.99. Did they forget to put the mango in the Mango Dal? The worst part was the wait. We waited over an hour for them to serve us the first dish, and then another 20 minutes for the second dish with sides that were supposed to come out with the first dish. During our very long wait, we were not assured if/when our food was coming, we were not told why it was taking so long, nor did we get an apology for the long wait. We should have left, but we wanted to give them a chance to at least give us some good quality food, but no dice. Suffice it to say, I can NOT recommend this place because of the ridiculously long wait for dine-in and to-go, the disappointing quality of the food, and the severe lack of customer service. Hopefully they can improve, but until then, we probably won't be back."
