"Have been to the famed Crown Room Brunch at the Hotel del for a number of years. Price has, as expected gradually creeped up to near the 100 mark. So, this experience is pretty much reserved for out of town guests/special occasions. Drinks were included which helps a little. Compared to my more recent visits, this was a bit of a disappointment, overall. Breakfast station was the usual, omelette station, breakfast proteins on the side, but instead of traditional eggs benedict offered, it was made to order poached egg on English muffin but no protein. No poached/smoked salmon, or Canadian bacon. Spinach. Was disappointing as I usually like getting the eggs Benedict at Sunday Brunches. Asian inspired station had steamed dumplings and mini char siu steamed buns. Meh. There was also a ramen station but I didn't bother. Seafood station was good; cocktail shrimp were of considerable size, and fresh; crab legs were pre split, which often times means they will have lost a good amount of their briny flavor. This was also the case. I would prefer intact crab legs and nutcrackers so I can crack on my own and enjoy a much more flavorful crab experience. Sashimi offerings were very fresh albeit limited to tuna and salmon. Wasabi was present, but you had to go back to the Asian station for soy sauce. Carving station was front and center, and for the most part it was very good. Leg of lamb was short on flavor, however. Sliced pork belly was very good, as was the prime rib, if not a tiny bit short on flavor. Dessert station was plentiful and I applaud the choice of small bite sized portions, so one can sample many more choices before getting too full. If you haven't already reached your seams-bursting point yet. Gelato was also offered, but wasn't the best I've had. I do remember they had another station in the past, with paella, and was looking forward to that. Alas it was not to be. Overall nice experience. Just not quite up to the 100 per person they charge."
