"I came in to order some appetizers before my main. I ordered six oysters and shrimp cocktail. When the appetizers arrived The shrimp was super slimy that it left goo and residue on my fingers. The oysters smelled and had foam on top of them and were stuck to the shell. I am never one to not pay for my food . so I asked for my check and discreetly put the food aside. The bartender which mind you was absolutely amazing her name is Kristy. Asked me about my food and why I was not eating it I told her I still wanted to pay for it she said absolutely no and went to the back to help get it addressed and then taken care of. The manager ended up coming out to me. Told me I must not know about eating oysters, shined a flashlight on me and then proceeded to shine a flashlight onto the oysters while tapping them with a knife and telling me that I did not see foam but I was looking at the shell while he was tapping it. Whether or not I have experience in eating oysters(mind you I do) that entire experience was extremely demeaning, disrespectful, and very off-putting. I’m not sure who this manager is but I hope he reads this and thinks definitely how he treats customers. I want to add one last note that again the bartender was absolutely amazing and I’m thankful she was there"

"We have been to several Cameron Mitchell Restaurants and have never had a bad experience until e went to The Columbus Fish Market for our anniversary. The king crab legs came to the table cold and one of the legs was completely empty (no meat at all). Our server (Ava) was very apologetic and so was the manager, however I feel like the chef himself should have come to the table since the cold food came from his kitchen. The Market Trio was luke warm and the salmon and shrimp were very salty. Again our server was very apologetic (even though it wasn’t her fault), but all that we got for cold king crab legs (which were $115) was a replacement which took 15-20 minutes to get to our table and at that point my food which came to the table luke warm was now cold. The chef should be keeping a closer eye on his staff."

"It took 1 hour and a half hours to get our dinners. When we finally did, both our dinners were over cooked, dried out and extremely small portions. I ordered the Mitchell trio; shrimp, salmon and a crab cake. The crab cake was ok, the shrimp on a skewer were hard as a rock and the tiny piece of salmon wasn’t even one bite. My hubby ordered the lobster stuffed cod which was extremely small and terribly dried out. The service overall was terrible. Our waitress was running around all two hours but she only stopped a few times to apologize for how long it was taking to get our food. The restaurant had obviously overbooked. Even the hostess was working the food line and half of the servers were back there trying to get food. So disappointed in our $120. dinner. We will never be back and I’m betting we aren’t the only ones!"

"Mitchell’s has always been “solid.” On the other hand, I can’t remember when I’ve eaten a meal that I would consider memorable. Tonight was different my wife, who has multiple dietary restrictions, was able to eat “real” food at a restaurant. That alone would be considered memorable. Then there was my meal a piece of swordfish on a smear of romesco sauce and mashed purple potatoes. It was exceptional; one of the best fish dishes I’ve had in a long time. Our friend, visiting from out of town, commented several times how much he enjoyed his meal. Mitchell’s served up a memorable meal I’ll be looking forward to the next one."

"Having recently relocated from New England, I was in search of quality seafood in the Midwest, and I found it at Mitchell. The oyster selection is consistently impressive, and the smaller ones are delightful. A tip: save the broth to enjoy with your bread! In the past, I've tried the cioppino, Asian tuna, and sea bass Oscar style, and each dish was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

"Spicy Crispy Shrimp app was good, but the Pecan Crusted Trout was dry, tasteless and the only flavor was fishy, even for trout. Seafood Americana was drowning in an over seasoned sauce like a soup dish, the over salted shrimp and spinach cooked to where it was shrunk and negligible to the dish were disappointing. Scallops were okay on the dish, but hidden within the overwhelming dark “sauce”. Our server, Octavia, was perfect and did everything right. My wife’s trout was comp’d because she took only a bite and I had a bite as well. I love Cajun foods, but I didn’t finish all of my Seafood Americana as my tongue was feeling salt-burned. Doubtful we’ll be back for dinner. Maybe the lunch menu would be better."

"We ordered an appetizer, a salad, and two entrees at the restaurant. The appetizer and salad arrived promptly and were delicious. However, we had to wait a long time for our entrees. After flagging down a different server, we learned that others who arrived after us had already received their food. The server notified the manager, but it still took a while for our food to finally arrive. The manager apologized and explained that the check had been lost. She did offer a discount on the bill, but as this was our annual anniversary dinner, we were disappointed with the overall experience. Additionally, we found the prices to be quite high. We are unsure if we will return to this restaurant in the future."

"We set up reservations for 12 people 2 3 weeks ahead of time to celebrate my moms 70th Birthday on 12/26 the lobster bisque has always been her favorite so I thought this would be the perfect place! Unfortunately it turns out that 1/2 the staff called in and they were down to a skeleton crew. Our drinks from the bar were VERY delayed, food was cold (especially the potatoes and Oscar lobster topping) and they were completely out of one of the main dishes. When we asked for the manager they sent out another server when in fact the manager was in the back the whole time. The only saving grace is the whole night was our waitress who was WONDERFUL and so apologetic. They apparently have had a lot of turnover in management which is evident as this was by far my worst experience at this restaurant and in my top 5 worst of all time. The saddest part was that my mom was disappointed and apologetic to all of our guests when none of this was her fault. I really hope they get their stuff together if not I don't see how it will last."

"We just got here from NY state and were looking for a nice place to eat. We got a table very quickly, thanks to open table. Rhonda was running the hostess stand and she was incredible to watch. Not only did she keep her cool when it got busy, but she was describing people to the others by clothing and looks and really had a great system. She was impressive. The waiter was awesome, too! The food was great. We especially loved the chowder. It was all delicious!!! Highly recommended!"

"We visit Sandestin many times every year. We always eat here because it's close and we enjoy seafood. Mitchell's cook staff is top notch at what they do. The food and presentation is excellent for a tourist area. However, the wait staff is another story. Rude, and/or absent of a personality, disfunctional, uncaring, untrained, not supervised, and on and on. Just plain bad as service can get. So, expect good food but prepare prepare for the worst service imaginable. The good news is, you don't have to tip. I'm sure they don't expect one."
