"This is unacceptable. This restaurant should have been shut down permanently. During the Erie County restaurant inspections from August 18-25, 2021, Chopstix Express, located at 3842 Liberty St., received 7 critical violations. The hand sinks were blocked and not in use, with one filled with bowls and the other with various items. There were no paper towels in the dispenser, and live German cockroaches fell out when the dispenser was turned. Additionally, raw ground meat and chicken were stored above vegetables in the walk-in cooler, which is a serious violation. Prep tables were not being properly sanitized and were merely wiped down with a wet cloth. Unclean knives were found on a dirty magnetic board, and food debris was left unaddressed. A garlic and oil mixture was found at room temperature near the cooking area, and sushi rice was at an unsafe temperature of 90 degrees; both should be kept either below 41 degrees or above 135 degrees. The restaurant was closed for cleaning and extermination on Tuesday. After correcting the violations, it reopened for takeout on Wednesday."
