"We started with the calamari. Fried calamari is a staple on most menus, and given that this is a seafood-focused restaurant, it was no surprise to see it offered. They also have options for raw oysters as appetizers. The calamari came with a creamy dipping sauce and a vinegar-based one. It was beautifully prepared—not at all rubbery, with a light, crispy coating that wasn’t overly greasy. We really enjoyed it. We shared two lobster rolls, accompanied by a side of coleslaw and wedge fries, as well as a signature dish: scallops with pancetta pasta in a bright cream sauce. Living in this area, we’re quite spoiled when it comes to good lobster rolls, with places like Sam's Chowdermobile in Half Moon Bay and Old Port Lobster Shack (which has moved into their sister restaurant, Rack and Roll, in Redwood City). So the lobster roll had to impress, and it did! The roll was toasted and spread with a touch of herb butter, and there were plenty of generous lobster pieces easily dressed with mayo and herbs. The wedge fries were lightly seasoned and tasty, while the coleslaw was not overly sweet and very flavorful. The pasta was delightful, striking a perfect balance without an excess of pancetta that could have made it too salty. I think there were around six scallops, meaning we each got three halves. The pasta was cooked al dente and had great flavor. It’s not a quiet place, but that adds to the overall ambiance. While you might not be able to have an intimate conversation, everyone seemed to be enjoying each other's company. We chatted with a young couple nearby who were curious about our food choices and ended up taking our recommendations. The manager or owner stopped by for a pleasant conversation as well. Our waitress was genuinely sweet, frequently checking to ensure we had enough water and refilling our drinks. I can’t wait to bring my husband here soon!"
