"Solid Cantonese style seafood and dim sum house. A bit more upscale than typical, and I am sure there are less expensive options, but absolutely recommend this spot for anyone wanting fresh and authentic Chinese food.Checked boxes on a paper photo menu to order (weekday no carts). Came out quickly and was delicious. We ordered mostly dim sum shu mai, char shu bou, shrimp and beef fat noodle, tofu skin dishes, etc all was fresh, hot and tasty. We also ordered chinese veg and fried rice dishes from the lunch menu which came out nearly instantly and were delicious. Most diners were locals so we knew this would be good. Decor and bathrooms were on the high end of all dim sum places we have been to. They are usually the worst parts of a dining experience in similar establishments so it was refreshing to be in a clean and comfortable setting. Most of us ordered bubble tea as well, and they were also very good.We have been to many similar places in major US city chinatown areas especially NYC where we reside and this was one of the best food and atmosphere experiences we have had. Highly recommend!Vegetarian options: Pretty good veg options which are noted on the photo menu. At least 3 4 dim sum options, plus the standard options like chinese vegetables and rice.Kid friendliness: Kids loved it but note they won't likely be doing chicken nugget style kids meals here. Kids will need to try wonderful tasty new things, or settle for rice!"

"The service at this long-standing restaurant on Mass Ave is mediocre, the decor is outdated reminiscent of the late 90s, the drinks are overly sweet, the potstickers are frozen, and the sushi is just average. I don't plan on returning unless they undergo a major revamp. Despite living in the area for ten years, I never visited FortyFive Degrees due to its mediocre ratings compared to other sushi restaurants in the city. However, I decided to give it a try one pride when I was tired and craving sushi. The hostess was dismissive, declaring herself as a placeholder until the actual host returned, and lacked a welcoming attitude. The restaurant's ambiance is stuck in the late 90s/early 2000s and could use a modern update. The bartender was friendly but more focused on entertaining regulars than attending to new customers. The drinks and food were presented carelessly, with little attention to detail. I ordered a French 75 which was overly sweet and undrinkable. The potstickers were overcooked and tasted like store-bought ones. The shrimp tempura roll was average, lacking flavor and spice. Overall, I give this place two stars for its lack of attention from staff, poor quality cocktail, subpar potstickers, and outdated atmosphere. Despite my feedback, it seems the restaurant is popular and not in need of improvement. Sharing my concerns with management wouldn't have made a difference, especially on a busy evening."
