"The food itself was good, aside from the unpleasant egg roll, which turned out to be a deep-fried spring roll. However, the prices felt a bit steep for what we received. The service left much to be desired. While it wasn’t so bad that I wouldn’t consider returning, it was certainly a strange experience.
When we arrived, there was no host to greet us. After a while, a staff member came out, and when we mentioned we were a party of two, they simply disappeared. Two more workers followed suit, each doing the same. Eventually, a fourth employee arrived and promptly led us to a table that had not been cleared, adding to the confusion and disorganization.
When our waiter finally came to take our order, I asked about a sushi bar menu and he seemed visibly irritated, perhaps because he’s been asked that frequently. I brushed it off and requested a moment to look at the menu. My wife chose a dinner combo, while I ordered potstickers, a dinner combo, and an extra side of white rice. The waiter gave me another confused and irritated look before noting my order and heading off. My wife and I exchanged glances, wondering if the side of white rice was somehow an unusual request, even though it’s really just a standard order.
When our dinner combos arrived, I noticed there were no chopsticks at the table, which was frustrating since I couldn’t eat Chinese food without them, especially with all the rice I had. I had to flag down another waiter to request some. While I wouldn’t hold this against the restaurant, it’s a basic expectation to have chopsticks available at a Chinese restaurant.
As we began eating, we realized the potstickers never arrived. Our waiter had completely disappeared, and it wasn't until we were nearly finished that another staff member checked in on us. I mentioned the missing potstickers, and he quickly went to check on them, returning to ask if we still wanted them. At that point, I declined.
While we were boxing up our leftovers, staff attempted to clear our table, which felt intrusive. There was no crowd and many open tables, so I didn’t understand the urgency. It was awkward trying to hold my dish while they reached across me.
Finally, someone came to process our payment with a visibly annoyed demeanor and no inquiry about how our meal was or any expressions of gratitude. It was simply "thanks" with no further engagement.
Overall, these experiences might not deter me from returning, but it was definitely odd. The staff seemed unorganized and irritated by common requests like asking about advertised items or a simple side of rice, even when collecting payment. Perhaps it was just an off day for them—these things happen. At least the Pon Pon Tofu was crispy and delicious!"
