"In the fall of 2017 we came here to celebrate the boss’s birthday. The food and the service were mediocre. What you are dropping $100 per head on dinner you expect something a little more than mediocre. I received a very nice email from Tony Foreman the proprietor asking specifically about my complaints. I responded ends and the following emails he copied his minion, Will Napier. In Mr. Forman‘s email, he promised that the next time we plan to dine there I should let him know in advance and he would make our experience a lot better. He also seemed to suggest a bottle of wine on the house with the help of the wine steward. Now you have to understand that we live on “ that small little island in the Pacific” and don’t get to Baltimore very often. We were planning on returning just six months ago, again for the boss’s birthday. I emailed him in advance along with a copy of our previous emails. In the next emails I was passed down to a woman in the office who asked when my reservation was for. I told her and also asked if one of my favorite managers, who I knew well, still work there. No response from either the woman in the office, Will Napier, or Mr. Foreman. The evening of the reservation came, and we were seated at our table with little or no recognition of anything. Just two people walking in off the street and asking to be seated for dinner. Although the service was a little better this time, and less confused, my review of the food remains the same, just mediocre. No special help or offer from the wine steward, and basically no recognition of any previous emails or promises. Would I return? I don’t think so."

"We decided to start with the Polipo, which consisted of grilled octopus served with roasted potatoes, green olives, and fresh herbs accompanied by a romesco sauce. The octopus was just slightly over-charred, but the sauce and the crunchy potatoes were outstanding. Our other appetizer was the Polpettine—five delicious meatballs that were moist and perfectly seasoned, resting on a bed of marinara sauce and served with two slices of buttery toast, which were excellent for soaking up the sauce. For the main courses, I chose the seafood special, featuring wide noodles with a variety of seafood in a broth reminiscent of linguine with clam sauce. The dish included perfectly diced carrots and zucchini that still had a nice crunch. My wife had the gnocchi with fresh pesto sauce, which was pillowy soft and contained incredibly fresh pesto. My daughter ordered the cappelletti, tortellini stuffed with truffle and ricotta, served with prosciutto and a light broth. The pasta was cooked to perfection, al dente. Finally, my son had the carbonara made with wide noodles, smoky bacon, and a poached egg. This unique version worked beautifully, and as with all carbonaras, the egg yolk created a rich and luxurious sauce. At the end of our meal, they brought out a three-layer vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. It was perfect—delicious without being overly sweet. On this special night, the restaurant staff truly went above and beyond. Our server did an exceptional job attending to all the small details. Thank you for a wonderful meal and fantastic service!"

"With us being from Chicago to call this Italian is a travesty. I review every place I go anywhere. reservations party of There out of gnocchi and steak on a Saturday night. Ordered Carpaccio meat partly frozen (they didn't allow to warm enough to thaw) in the middle and the just drizzles some mustard mayo, no quail egg, capers, tiny couple pieces of cheese. Beet salad with honey walnuts, goat cheese, balsamic. was served without nuts. Asked server retrieved the nuts. Caesar salad was ok but the crouton was so hard it took hands to break it in half. it was inches long. The ravioli was tasty very small portion. The pasta my wife ordered she asked for no tomatoes, the server stated they can't it's all prepped in advance. Well when her plate came it had pieces of tomato in ie well large enough to have taken out. So either the Chef (or none chef maybe just kitchen help choose to be lazy or really doesn't care. So my plate consisted of meatballs, sausage spinach and alfredo (which they did not have but said they could make it). I asked for this because I can not eat pasta. So when dropping the food I had no utensils my wife needed cheese for her pasta and butter for our bread. First of all do not order any sausage it was the size of breakfast sausage and tasted nothing like it. The meatballs ARE not made from scratch. They had the taste and texture of prepack hi salt heavy filler meatballs. Then desert ordered of a cookies and cream ice cream and our server came out with raspberry and said were out. take it away then. We went to the Nashville location and were very disappointed. Decided to give the west location a shot. If your pallet is well trained on all levels of food flavors from sliders to beef wellington. This place will not fool you. To all others you'll never notice. This place should have stars."

"We came to Sage upon recommendation from friends that we were visiting here in Tallahassee. We were celebrating our anniversary and hoped for a wonderful experience as it was a highly recommended restaurant. From the moment we sat down and had to wait 15 minutes before the server even came to the table with water to the hour and 45 minute wait before we got our meal the experience was abysmal. There was no explanation Other than they were backed up. The restaurant wasn’t even that full yet our table and all of the tables around us were waiting for over an hour for any food to show up. The only time the manager showed up was at the end while they were serving all of the tables at the same time approximately an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes after ordering. When we complained to her that we had ordered well before any of our tables she said well I’m just trying to be transparent here we want to plate everything all at once. When the food finally arrived it was not edible. I ordered the most expensive plate on the menu which was the bone in ribeye. There was no meat in the ribeye it was pure fat and gristle. My wife’s dish was severely under cooked. Your first mistake was hiring a millennial as the manager of this restaurant. You will be losing customers left and right. It was clear that she was way out of her league and way over her head and offered no explanation of why this restaurant runs so poorly in her hands. I will never go to this place again and if this is the best that Tallahassee can offer ? Well. I guess there’s a reason why Tallahassee isn’t a culinary destination."
