Sant Ambroeus in the Hamptons is just as impressive as their other locations, but with the added charm and attention to detail of Southampton. While in Southampton for a wedding, my family and I decided to stop at this restaurant during a stroll. I had previously tried their coffee at another location and was not impressed, but I wanted to give it another chance. Although I had already had coffee that day, I opted for a light lunch from their menu at the counter before ultimately deciding to just order gelato. We tried the chocolate, Stracciatella, and coffee flavors, with the smallest size costing around $7.

Obsession is an understatement when it comes to this restaurant. While it may be on the pricier side, the quality of the food is well worth it. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are perfect, and the temperature of the dishes is spot on (hot soups and cold salads). One standout menu item is their soup of the day, which is always a must-try, even if it sounds unusual. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed their asparagus and celery root soups, despite not typically liking those ingredients. This restaurant is a Southampton staple that I will continue to visit, as I always leave feeling satisfied and happy.

As a longtime customer of Sant Ambroeus in various locations, including Lafayette, Perry, and the Upper East Side, I have always enjoyed the consistent quality of the food. Unfortunately, on my most recent visit, the service was absolutely awful. I had to repeatedly ask the server for simple things like salt, bread, and even to refill my glass, even though the restaurant was not busy. In the end, I was left waiting for my check, feeling like I had to beg for it. This really put a damper on the entire dining experience. Despite this, I would still recommend trying their Linguine Alle Vongole and Fettuccine Alla Bolognese dishes. Overall, I paid over $100 per person for a dinner meal. View menu
