"The service is terrible. If your paying these kind of prices you expect a lot more from the servers than watching them fold napkins and talk about the weekend. There 's full tables and people spending money. The people sitting at our table never received their alcoholic beverages. It wasn 't until the bill came that it was pointed out to the server. Mistake after mistake, and all he said was I 'll take care of it right now! Too late! I won 't be coming back here ever. It seems like more of a staffing issue than anything. I wish my experience here was something positive. Treat your customers a lot better so they will come back."

"Visited here for dinner on a Friday, the restaurant was not crowded, but it took our waitress over 20 min to even greet us...so that was disappointing. The food was good, the atmosphere was nice. We ordered the tempura shrimp and Vegetables, which was good, but not hot, it was lukewarm. Also, just be aware that they only give you two shrimp tempura and the rest is vegetables! So I was very disappointed that I paid $17 for a dish that only had two shrimp a lot of veggies and rice. I asked my waitress if that is how they usually serve it and she said yes. So had I known that, I wouldn't have ordered it. I've ordered shrimp Veggie tempura from other Japanese restaurants and received a nice portion and value for my money. "I came here for a family birthday dinner on a Thursday night. We made reservations for 6:30 pm and when we got there, there wasn't much parking left. We were quickly seated, ordered, and were given the complementary starter which is the edamame, shrimp, and bean sprouts. Each dish came out right after the other and we were overwhelmed with all the plates we had ordered! Everything was fresh and tasted absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the fried baby octopus since it was not only delicious but fun to eat! The omakase set came with a free ice cream which was perfect since we were celebrating a birthday! They were kind enough to even bring us a candle in the dessert! We had a great time and meal here! I'm not sure if they raised the prices or they were always this pricey. Make sure to make a reservation if you're going to have a large party since it can get busy!"

"Last night was my first time at Honda and it was a wonderful culinary experience! We sat at the bar and really enjoyed interacting with the chefs, they all had big personalities and excellent knife skills! I ordered Omakase, chefs choice, sashimi and sushi and was not disappointed, everything that I was served was beautifully prepared, presented and delicious. We also enjoyed a nice bottle of sake with our meal. My only complaint was the time it took to get my sushi. I understand that sitting at the bar and ordering omakase is an experience but my wife was finished with her meal before I was halfway through my dinner. The food was tasty, the staff were great but the meal could have been timed a bit better. I will return to Restaurant Honda again!"

"Late post: We came back a couple more times since our last visit. Tried other offerings from their menu and decided to upgrade my review. This review is based on 2 visits: Sashimi Dinner 15 pcs assortment of sashimi salmon, tuna, hamachi albacore, and two other (sorry, can't remember, but see picture). Seafood Tempura Assortment of seafood deep fried shrimp, scallops, and fish. Nice crunch and not oily. Delicious! Tokyo Special 2 Tuna, Sweet Shrimp, Whitefish, Yellowtail, Squid, Ikura, Clam Sushi and California roll. Tempura roll Shrimp Tempura, crab meat, radish sprouts, and avocado drizzled with Eel sauce and Masago. Tonkatsu Pork cutlet, lightly breaded and deep fried. Nicely cooked, not oily. Omakase NIgiri Master Chef's choice of 3 course meal with premium nigiri (8 pcs), and Sashimi (4 pcs), comes with miso soup. Food and service were great during both visits. We still have our favorite sushi place, but this place will do if you're craving for sushi at a reasonable price."

"Delicious, good portions and value for money $8.50 for the dons . Tempura included the delightful surprise of a shishito pepper a rare spicy one at that! which is not often found elsewhere. It is proper well executed tempura. Pork katsu was also very commendable for the moist thick cut. At lesser eateries katsus can be hard and rubbery. We were glad for the one set of chairs and table set up outside for us to scarf our food down before it got cold. Maximum social distancing with no one else being able to eat alongside, if you're lucky. Note that there's 4% card service charge so pay cash instead."

"Went to Yuzuki for a birthday dinner and, like the other reviews, I thought allandall, the whole experience was good but not exceptional. The atmosphere is comfortable and clean but nothing special. The portions were on the small side but on par with most traditional Japanese restaurants. The miso black cod, ikura shoyu, and oysters were quite good. On a very positive note, Yuzuki only features organic, seasonal produce and we need more all organic restaurants in San Francisco not just restaurants that serve conventional produce atop a bed of organic greens, for example. A pretty good meal but not necessarily a great value. The total was for two people, not including drinks"

"We wanted to try this quiet special place during our anniversary as yelp people is recommending. The sushi sashimi set was perfect, the beef sashimi not on the menu melted my month. However Their special 1 and the pineapple boat I don’t like it as much, not worthy it for 2 little seafood grilled for approx 30 The worst is we gave tips based on our experiences the host was nice but the manager in front like in his temper when we entered, literally, no smile at all and then yelling at us when we left because we didn’t give a big tip : disappointing at the end about the service, which ruin our anniversary Hawaii trip"

"The appetizers were good although not particularly imaginative (sushi, spring roll, blackened rib), and so was the dessert (well with enough sugar and butter it can’t be bad afterall). "a friend with a four-hour reflection at the sfo to dinner can be a challenge, as it can not pass by the security to eat in every series of good restaurants at the airport. I chose agencies for them near, it was an 8-minute taxi ride from sfo for them and a two block to foot from millbrae bart for me. excellent, first class Japanese cuisine in a beautifully decorated room that sets its not describing grace location. the service was excellent as well as friendly and attentive. I would be urgent for a business lunch or dinner, if necessary recommended for comfort near the airport. and again, excellent, excellent eating even a Japanese person would be impressed!"

"Tanpopo in Buchanan Mall in Japantown offers delicious piping hot ramen that hits the spot. In addition to assorted shoyu and miso ramen, they also serve non-noodle dishes like broiled mackerel and gyoza. Guests can sit at the counter and watch Japanese TV while enjoying their meal. The only unique aspect of this restaurant is that they do not serve hot tea unless it is ordered from a can or bottle displayed on the counter. However, they will heat it up for you and serve it in a teacup. Despite this unusual practice, the satisfying ramen makes up for it. The service can be hit or miss, as some servers are more attentive than others, but in Japantown, the focus is primarily on the food rather than the service."

"Maybe it wasthat we had just left Gochi due to a long wait or maybe we made bad menu choices , but Tanto was not what I had expected and not nearly as good as I had hoped. From the Yelp reviews I had expected small Kyoto style Japanese plates like Gochi or Kappo NamiNami, though probably not as good or as fresh. But what we ordered was hearty, heavy, and not that great. Our waiter, who was reluctant to recommend anything, did recommend that we order more than we had planned. We wanted to know if our first three orders would have been enough food, and he said we should get a couple more. This makes sense at a place like Kappo NamiNami where the plates are much smaller than many people would anticipate, but made no sense given how much food those first three items already were. So a better waiter could have gotten us off to a much better start. We went with less fresh and less traditional options since we didn’t get much guidance from our waiter and felt adventurous, but we probably could have chosen better. We got the Nabeyaki Udon $9.50) which was the best of the four dishes we ate and was very large. It has a tasty broth, typical thick udon noodles, flavorful friend veggies with too soft batter, and fish cake. The pot stickers were fine, but pretty typical. We ordered the crab gratin which was heavy on a creamy cheese sauce which managed to be both smelly and bland at the same time. The flavor was all too earthy and a little like spoiled milk. The tomato dish was more similar than we had expected and had a very tasty tomato broth/sauce with hot boiled tomatoes and cheese. The cheese was again unappealing should have avoided cheese all together with Japanese food – lesson learned), but the tomato part of the dish worked really well and had lots of flavor. Let it cool a little though, since it comes filled with very hot liquid. They were out of the asparagus dish we ordered, which gave us the opportunity to limit our all too large order. The hot sake was not one of the better hot sakes I’ve had, but not bad. And the final price of $48 was less than I expected. I’ll give this place one more try after putting together a game plan on Yelp, but I hope its not like this experience again."
