"My first time at Lola and it was such a delight. We went to celebrate my birthday and the restaurant was up to par. We started with the Beef Cheek Pirogies. Those are a must order. You will enjoy the texture, and the rich flavor. When asked for a recommendation for the main course, Hanger Steak was recommended. All 5 of us ordered the Hanger Steak, and we were very happy with what we ordered. The meat was so tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The sauce on the meat is very good. For the sides we got the Potato Lyonnaise and the Mushrooms. You definitely have to get the mushrooms, those are incredible. The Figgy Pudding for dessert was a very good choice. The texture is good, the cream cheese ice cream is yummy, and the drizzle on top of it makes it even better. I’d definitely be back to Lola."

"The atmosphere is cozy but no sound buffers so extremely loud when busy. We had the bacon wrapped dates as an appetizer which were delicious but in my opinion was barely a portion for 1 person let alone 2. My boyfriend had the manicotti which is probably one of the best i ever tasted with full flavor... definitely recommend this. I had the fettuccine alfredo with Chicken and also added mushrooms and broccoli. The ratio of everything was good except for the creamy Alfredo sauce that fell short in quantity and quality which was very bland without the rich buttery and creamy flavor that i was expecting. Maybe if there is a next time i will try asking for an extra side of sauce and if the chef could make it extra rich. We shared the gooey butter cake dessert which i will say was good and better then a lot of places in town."

"We watched the superbowl at this bar, largely because they took reservations. We expected it to be busy so we arrived at 3 pm planning to order drinks and food before the game. It was 4:35 before we had received the martini, by which point we had ordered and finished fish tacos. it seemed like they were determined to keep seating everyone who walked in, using their back room as extra seating. The problem was they could’ve serve the people seated. One table left after trying to order for 40 minutes and another waited that long just for two beers. We saw our server every 30 minutes or so when we flagged her down because she obviously had more tables than she could handle. We managed to get 3 drinks total and probably would’ve ordered 6 or 7- we just didn’t get the chance to. Where was a manager making sure that everyone only had as many people as they could handle? What is the point of tons of tables not getting to order drinks or food? As for food it was wildly disappointing. The bourdain burger barely had cheese on a quarter of a burger and the bacon was a loosely shredded bacon which was also scarce. They also served us a Ceasar salad I ordered without croutons dude to an allergy with a crouton. Luckily my partner saw the crouton under some lettuce and we looked at the salad with a flashlight. They had clearly forgotten the no croutons request and then someone picked the ALLERGEN OFF leaving the salad covered in barely visible breadcrumbs. I would have been very sick if he hadn’t seen the one missed crouton. Overall this place is an expensive mess of low quality food and crappy service with prices of a nice place."

"Great selection of beer! Their fries are the best. My husband loves their Chicken Fingers. We used to go to the location in The Fan before it closed down and I loved their vegan Potachoes! We went for dinner on Wednesday evening and the live music provided a wonderful atmosphere along with the friendly staff. I definitely recommend this spot if you are in Ashland!"

"Do not rely on this business' employees to know what they have in their stores. They gave me incorrect information over the phone and I wasted my time and money ubering there for nothing. I wasted $70 and 1.5 hours of my life ubering to this place after they confirmed over the phone that they had haggis (the Scottish food) in stock, only to have the staff act like they didn't know what I was talking about when I arrived. I specifically asked about this product, I specifically confirmed the location to make sure I went to the right store, and I had them repeat it to make absolutely sure they had it, and they were totally clueless. Absolutely unprofessional. I have no idea what I could have done differently to avoid this. The woman who answered the phone left me on hold for fifteen minutes while she went and checked, and verbally confirmed to me over the phone that they had it. I just have no idea why they would say they had something so specific if they were just making it up."

"The jalapeño cheese fries was not a hit for my husband. I paid extra for the bacon for him and he didn't get it. He felt it was okay. I instead had the Cobb salad and it is always a hit for me bc it is the closest I can get to the plantation salad from Calenders since it closed. The chicken salad crosshairs t I have not tried yet but it wasn't on a crossaint and it didn't even give an option for croissant so I went with white bread, which is what I got. But there was no option for croissant as the option states."

"For instance, our fig and prosciutto pizza arrived with red sauce and ordinary cheese, neither of which were listed in the ingredients on the menu and shouldn’t have been included. The figs tasted like dry, sour sun-dried tomatoes and clashed with the overall flavor profile of the pizza. As a fan of Caesar salad, I was disappointed as well. While grilling the romaine and the dressing was enjoyable, having to cut an entire head of romaine yourself feels more frustrating than innovative. On a positive note, their cheesecake is wonderfully thick, dense, and rich, which I really appreciated. Overall, I find the main dishes to be overpriced and mediocre at best. I would recommend focusing on appetizers and desserts while steering clear of the other items on the menu."

"I don't even have words to describe how wonderful it was to work with Beatnik. We had our post-elopement dinner here, and worked with Cassandra and her team. From the start, Cassandra was fantastic- responsive, helpful, and enthusiastic. She was able to assist us with menu selections and was incredibly accommodating in providing options for our guests with allergies.The night of the event, she was onsite to greet us and truly went above and beyond to be hospitable. She made sure we were happy and taken care of and even insisted on taking my bag and checking it for me.Our server Miguel was absolutely wonderful and made sure everyone was happy and had a drink in their hand all night. He was incredibly thorough and took amazing care of us, especially in regards to making sure our guests with allergies were not treated like an afterthought. The manager onsite, Joanna, also made a point to come over to say hello and check in on us, and made herself available for anything we may have needed.The food was AMAZING. I can't even pick a favorite because everything was so fantastic. All of our guests made comments about food and beverage quality- the margaritas were a HUGE hit. The portions were also plentiful and no one left hungry. And of course, the inside of the space is absolutely gorgeous.I can't thank Cassandra, Miguel, Joanna, and the rest of the Beatnik team enough- they truly made our day so special."

The manager was not overly friendly and seemed to be OK making excuses instead of trying to rectify the experience.While the food is great, the service really needs to be rectified before we’ll try again. You can easily find better food and service elsewhere in town for the same amount of money. Some dishes are strangely bland, and the bathrooms might remind you of a rundown dive bar in NW Portland from the mid-'90s—absolutely disgusting. "The food was simply outstanding. The garlic bread and polenta appetizers were phenomenal, and their red sauce is nothing short of a revelation. We tried the ravioli and the eggplant parmesan, both of which were fantastic. I have a feeling everything on the menu is just as good. We also indulged in some cocktails, and wow! The gin cocktail with cucumbers was both delicious and refreshing. We sat at the "Godfather" table, which made it feel even more special. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly; he took the time to explain the little metal plaque on the table and the backdrop behind it, which really touched my heart. I absolutely loved this place and sincerely hope to return someday."

"I ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich and I was impressed with how delicious the bread was and how well seasoned the chicken was. The only slight issue I had was that the sauce was a bit sweeter than I expected and I felt that it could have used a bit more cheese. Despite that, I would definitely order this again. "What a wonderful surprise! We were visiting Asheville for a couple of days and picked Modesto from the Open Table Best of list not knowing a thing about the restaurant. We feel like we won the amazing food lottery! Anna, our server, was friendly, informative and very attentive. My husband had the Sicilian Caesar which was better than any Caesar Salad he has ever eaten. The crisp lettuce was perfectly dressed with an amazing lemon dressing...fresh but not overpowering. The house made gnocci melted in my mouth enhanced by a spectacular wild mushroom sauce. the Fire-grilled Chicken piccata was not traditional in that the cutlets were cooked on a grill with the spectacular piccata sauce on the side. I only wish bread had been served so I could enjoy all the sauce. The Eggplant Parm was elevated by goat cheese and fresh herbs. My only concern is that we will never be able to enjoy these flavors again...as the menu change twice daily. I guess we will have to go again to discover new flavors!"
