"I wish I had checked the latest reviews before visiting this restaurant. The service was lacking and quite slow, even though the place was almost empty—which should have been a warning sign. The penne a la vodka, which used to be good here, is no longer up to par; the sauce was a deep red, and some of the pasta was hard and crunchy. The stromboli was mostly just bread, while the calzone barely had any ricotta in it. When the server asked how our meal was, we mentioned the calzone’s lack of filling. When she came back, she told us that was just how it was made. When the manager came over and we explained that the pasta didn’t resemble penne a la vodka, he insisted that it did, attributing everything to the new cook. The only silver lining was that they didn’t charge us for the calzone. Despite that, I won't be returning. Now I understand why the Durham location shut down. If this place doesn’t improve, there won’t be a Bocci for much longer."
