"This is a tough one to properly rate because I have mixed feelings. First and foremost, their food, especially the soup and salads, are fantastic. However, what is this with them being so overly cheap with the ingredients they include with their salads. Heaven forbids that the staff puts even one more pea on your salad, which is above the strictly enforced teaspoon size. This standard practice does not just apply to this store but to all the Café Zupas in town. When Café Zupas first opened their stores in the valley, the service, portions and pricing were far better. But now, it seems that once they became successful in the area, everything changed including getting less for much more money. The staff at this location are friendly, but they seem to be quite aware of the constant overwatch by their supervisors. The actual store layout and furniture is designed to get as many people in and out of there as quickly as possible. Just try sitting in those chairs for over 45 minutes to an hour, but that is what environmental design for this type of business is for. Bottom line, we do love the food here but their overly strict restrictions on anyone asking for just a few more peas, cheese, etc., is a real turn off and that is why we do not patronize Café Zupas stores as often as we did in the past."
