"I recently visited Izakaya Takasei and had a mixed experience.My boyfriend and I ordered the takoyaki, chicken cutlet and egg rice bowl, several yakitori, takowasabi (raw octopus with wasabi), and the Kobe beef roll. While the takoyaki and yakitori were delicious, the chicken cutlet and egg rice bowl was really bland. The Kobe beef roll was a bit odd with the combination of garlic butter and tataki sauce. Unfortunately, there were also a few items on the menu that were no longer available, which was a bit disappointing. It would be good for the restaurant to update their menu to avoid any confusion or disappointments.While the food at Izakaya Takasei comes out quickly, this can also be a double-edged sword. During my visit, my boyfriend and I received several dishes at once, which meant that a lot of our food was sitting out and getting cold while we were eating the others. It would be great if the kitchen could pace the dishes better to ensure that everything is served at the optimal temperature.The service was a bit lackluster as well. The only time we were able to ask for condiments, utensils, and more water was when the employees brought our food out. No one checked on us throughout our meal, and it would have been nice to have a more attentive staff.On the plus side, the restaurant has nice Japanese decor and is quite spacious. However, there was no background music, which made the ambiance a bit dull.Overall, while there were some drawbacks, Izakaya Takasei may be worth checking out if you're in the area and in the mood for some Japanese cuisine. Just be sure to join the wait-list on Yelp beforehand and check in with the host when you arrive."

"What really frustrated me was that the table next to us, which arrived after we did, placed an order for at least 48 pieces of sushi and had no issues at all with their order. It was clear they were regulars. When we needed something, we felt ignored. After asking for another roll, it was forgotten, and by the time it finally arrived at the table, I had already finished what I did receive. I was really upset by the lack of service and communication. Fifteen minutes later, they finally brought out another roll that had been forgotten. At that point, we decided to stop ordering and leave. Overall, I was extremely disappointed!"

"This was my first visit to the restaurant. I tried two types of nigiri, and unfortunately, both left me disappointed—though it could have been a one-time issue. The rice didn’t hold together well, causing the nigiri to fall apart as soon as we picked them up. Additionally, the slices were quite thin. On the other hand, the shishito peppers were decent; you really can't go wrong with them. The aburi saba was also okay but nothing remarkable. The highlights of the meal were the ika-uni and the baked scallops tapas, although the portions were quite small. Considering the overall quality was average, the prices felt a bit too high. I wouldn't say I'm eager to come back."

"I recently had the pleasure of trying out the new happy hour menu at Bushido in Mountain View and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. With 25% off on all sake, wine, and specialty cocktails, I couldn 't resist giving it a try.Let 's start with the new menu offerings. The oysters were absolutely divine, priced at just $2.5 each during happy hour. They were fresh, plump, and bursting with flavor. The potato fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and at $8, they were a steal. The broccolini was a delightful surprise, cooked to perfection and priced at $8.5. And if you 're a fan of spicy food, the Spicy Karaage is a must-try. At just $9, it was packed with flavor and had the perfect amount of kick.If you 're looking for a more substantial meal, I highly recommend the Yakitori Set for $15. The negima, tsukune, and gyutan skewers were all incredibly juicy and flavorful. The Temaki Set, priced at $18, is perfect for sushi lovers. The hama, sake, and toro temaki were all fresh and beautifully presented.For those craving something light and refreshing, the Summer Cold Ramen is a great choice at $19. The noodles were perfectly chilled and the broth had a delicious, tangy flavor. And if you have room for dessert, the ANMITSU and Matcha Mochi Waffle are must-haves. Both priced at $8, they were the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal.To wash it all down, don 't forget to try the RAICHI FLOWER cocktail. It was a refreshing blend of flavors and priced at $15 during happy hour.Overall, my experience at Bushido with their new happy hour menu was outstanding. The prices were incredibly reasonable with the 25% discount, and the quality of the food and drinks was top-notch. The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was attentive. I highly recommend giving Bushido 's happy hour a try, you won 't be disappointed!"

"The ramen is good. You get a whole egg (instead of the half egg in some places). But I think the egg is kind of too soft. Of course, it?s a personal preference. But I just don?t like super soft egg. Most of places are not that soft. Service is good too. But when I got the check, it shown a 15% service fee was on the bill without any words from the waitress. It?s totally understandable, but it would be nice if I got informed so I would not possibly pay double tips. During pandemic time, some restaurants asked customers to support them by paying service fee so they explicitly told us so we would leave tips on top of that. But that seems not the case today since I did not receive any such words from them."

"My son really loves ramen so we go to every ramen place in the area! Dohatsuten is the closest location to our house and we’ve eaten there many times over the years. I remember it tasting better before…This review is for our trip today. My son order miso soup and takoyaki as appetizers.1) The miso was so terrible. So watered down and bland for $4. He was used to getting it with his bento boxes at other eateries and they were always decent so he thought yum. No it’s like 1.5 stars. Do NOT order Miso2) the takoyaki was delicious 4.5 stars yum yum yum3) we both order dohatsuten ramen, mine with salt broth his was tonkotsuI gave it a 3 star. The broth was very bland also watered down(to compare with a place like orenchi. So thick so dense so flavorful albeit a bit too salty) the braised pork belly was the only part packed with flavor so rich and soaked into the meat. The charsu was ok but the ground pork was soso not great. Overall 3 stars. I was hoping that the tonkotsu was more flavorful but alas also bland though richer and thicker in texture) 3 stars"

"My wife and I recently had a fantastic dining experience at this Korean-American restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious, blending in just the right amount of American flavor. "This little hidden gem is nothing short of fantastic! The staff are all so friendly and accommodating, the venue itself is very welcoming and comfortable and while it’s not over the top fancy, it’s not really supposed to be. It’s very much like home, complete with home style cooking! The menu isn't a novel, which is good. There’s more time and attention paid to the few but delectable selections. Very straight and to the point, which is rare for restaurants nowadays, what with everyone constantly trying to outdo each other with unnecessary gimmicks. The prices are very fair the portions are extremely generous, and the food itself is absolutely delicious. Every dish is just dancing with flavor and memories of home. (I’m a happa, too! My husband and I like to come here for our occasional date night, and we’re never disappointed. 6/5 stars, Happa is always the go to for us in every category! (Try the burdock chips I just might go in today for some, they are AMAZING!!!"
