"Be prepared because this might be a long review. Okay, me and my family of 7 adults and 4 children came in to celebrate my sister 's birthday. We asked them if they do all you can eat and they said yes. Okay, cool. We all sit down and we agree to the AYCE and begin ordering. We order about 5 plates of sushi and 1 order of fried rice for the kids. Next thing you know our server brings 4 plates of dumplings and a couple of bowls of edamame. We tell her, we didnt order it and she said its on the house from chef. We were confused but said okay. She then comes with more plates of dumplings and we ask her to stop because we didn 't order it. We sat there waiting for our sushi and it took about 35 minutes to bring out our 1 plate. 15 minutes later, the next one came. Because of how slow the service was, we made a big order for the next one so we dont have to keep waiting. The next order came aftee 30 minutes again. We were trying not to complain because we saw they were short staffed. And then we ordered again. As my brother was walking out with my sister, the head of the restaurant told them that because of us, they have to shut down the restaurant because they can 't serve all of us. He even told next time you guys come, we will have to deny you guys because of how many you guys are! Wait what? DISCRIMINATION! My older brother and sister gave him a piece of our mind and he did not apologize. He just shrugged and acted like we were the problem. But hold up, I didnt add the other petty things this man did. When he came around the table, i tried to be courteous and gather the plates and stack it for him and he goes Can you please not stack that? Because its hard for me to take it? And then when my sister lifted her glass for him to take to refill, he told her please put it on the table and then ill take it This asian man, looks like the head or manager of the restaurant was giving off this weird racist vibes since we got there. The fact he even blamed us that they have t9 close the restaurant because of our orders just shows how incompetent they are to run a business. Oh btw, we were the only family there for a good 2 hours so I dont know why it took so long for them to make our sushi. Please don 't go to this restaurant especially if you are of color. Just horrible!!!"

"We were traveling in the area and my wife had heard about this place because she loves sushi. Things started out really well because we were told initially there would be a 35 minute wait and we only ended up waiting about 8 to 10 minutes. We werewaited on within a normal time frame and they took our order. My wife ordered her sushi and I ordered a sweet and sour chickenwith tempura style vegetables and rice meal. It really wasn't that crowded and there were several empty tables. They also seemedto have ample people working. I saw at least 8 to 10 out front. Anyway, It took quite a long time for our meals to arrive, maybe30 to 40 minutes. I took a bite of my chicken and it was cold, The rice and vegetables were cold also. I am talking about theywere not even slightly warm. I approached our server and he did offer to have the dish redone. I declined because I was alreadygoing to have to wait and watch while my wife ate her sushi and I didn't want her to have to wait for me when my meal finallyarrived again. When I declined he asked me what I wanted done. I told him I'm good we'll just have my wife finish give us thecheck and we'll leave. I think maybe since this place specializes in sushi there's not a really good coordination between theplace that cooks their hot meals and their cold sushi. Because I feel my meal, based on the temperature it came out, had set forat least 15 minutes before I got it. This is all good, things like this can happen.. we were disappointed. I would haveappreciated at least an apology though. Even though he did offer to recook the meal I never did hear an apology. We might trythem again another time. It might just have been a bad night."

"Azumi is an Japanese fusion restaurant with a nice view of the water. Some issues started during ordering. Initially they weren’t able to accommodate a pescatarian for the omakase option. They were able to make adjustments on the fly, but at this price point (comparable to Michelin star restaurants) in a sushi restaurant the initial lack of variability seems a bit silly. The omakase was generally good, but had a few misses. At this price point that’s pretty rough. Dishes were also rarely explained, which would have been a good touch. As far as dishes go: Yellowtail jalapeno was oversauced. Crispy rice tuna was great in texture and taste. Tempura crab was also excellent. Wagyu gyoza was good too. The california roll was good (and uses real crab, to be clear). Sashimi and nigiri were good but not particularly standout. Wagyu beef was fantastic. The pescatarian received miso black cod, which was also delicious and perfectly cooked. The Spicy lobster miso soup was unfortunately too salty for most of the table’s taste. Dessert was a great way to end the meal though. The coconut almond chocolate bar and strawberry tofu cheesecake were all incredible. Service was generally good, with regular checkins and water always being topped off. Overall, a good experience, but probably just go for the fried appetizers, the wagyu, and the desserts. The tasting menu didn’t quite feel worth it, and the sushi didn’t stand out for the price."

"Masu's Sushi, located in the heart of Oregon, is a culinary gem that offers a unique dining experience. The restaurant, which takes its name from the traditional wooden box used to serve sushi, combines a blend of Japanese tradition with a touch of modern innovation. My recent visit to Masu's Sushi left me with an array of impressions and flavors. Situated in a bustling area of Oregon, the restaurant's exterior is unassuming, and you might almost miss it if not for the subtle yet elegant sign. However, stepping inside, you are transported into a cozy and inviting space. The interior is a harmonious fusion of contemporary design with nods to Japanese aesthetics. The lighting is warm, and the decor includes elements of traditional Japanese art and design, creating a sense of cultural depth and authenticity. While it's not a large venue, the intimate setting adds a personal touch, making it a perfect place for a special dining experience. The star of the show at Masu's Sushi is undoubtedly the cuisine. The menu is a culinary journey that showcases a wide variety of sushi and sashimi options, as well as creative fusion dishes. The focus here is on using fresh, high-quality ingredients to craft memorable flavors. The sushi chefs at Masu's demonstrate an impressive level of expertise and a passion for their craft that shines through in every dish. The sushi and sashimi offerings are a testament to the precision and artistry of Japanese culinary tradition. Each piece of sushi is a work of art, with the fish so fresh it practically melts in your mouth. The subtle interplay of flavors, from the sweetness of eel to the delicate umami of uni (sea urchin), showcases the chef's skill and attention to detail. What truly sets Masu's Sushi apart is its unique fusion creations. The menu includes inventive rolls that combine traditional Japanese ingredients with unexpected twists. The Dragon Roll, for example, features succulent shrimp tempura, creamy avocado, and a drizzle of eel sauce for a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The Green Tea Ice Cream for dessert is a must-try, offering a delightful blend of crispy and creamy. While the atmosphere at Masu's Sushi is more intimate than the grandeur of Applebee's, it's a charming and memorable experience for any food enthusiast. The genuine appreciation for Japanese cuisine and the dedication to creating memorable dining moments make Masu's Sushi a standout dining destination in Oregon. Drove all the way from San Rafael just to eat here so worth it"
