"I had a craving for soup late last night after getting home from work and ended up ordering from here after my first two orders from a different restaurant were cancelled due to sold out items.I decided to go with their Pozole instead of their Menudo because I 'm only used to Dominican mondongo. They were both listed as popular on the app so I trusted that it would be reliable. I 've never had pozole before, I try my best to not have first time experiences with takeout but hey what are you gonna do ya know? I 've always been ssssuuuuuuperrrrrrrrrr interested in it, the hominy has always been really intriguing lol. The menu didn 't indicate whether it was red or green but again, I was trusting. It was $13 for one size which is the large plastic 32oz container. They send a separate aluminum tray with cabbage (I think), raw diced onions, radishes and limes. Oh and they sent oregano and some type of chili powder! My first impression of the soup was that it was packed. Lots of hominy, lots of pork and a broth that looked a lot like stock. It wasn 't green or red. The broth also tasted like stock, not in a bad way though! It was just very simple, good but simple and for me personally, I had to add a little bit of bouillon to it for extra flavor. I actually had my hand slip and a little more than I anticipated came out, but I was able to fix it by adding extra lime. I loved the hominy! I had no idea what to expect but if you 've never had it, it 's pretty much the same texture as potatoes. The star of the show though was the pork. You could tell they put in lots of effort to make sure that they cut off the unwanted pieces of fat, which made eating it so much easier. It was so tender. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, I 'm really glad I tried something new. Only reason they didn 't get 4 stars is because I had to add seasoning to the broth."

"My husband and I enjoyed Valentine's Day dinner at Nuestra Mesa... walked around the cute little Camas downtown area afterwards. This was our first time at the restaurant and the atmosphere is very nice. I'm vegan, my husband is not... sometimes food can be challenging for me. This restaurant had one dish that was close enough to vegan (veggie mesa bowl) for me. I also had a blackberry margarita which was excellent. We shared the chips/salsa/guac appetizer. The salsa was a roasted tomato salsa and it was excellent. The guac was... boring. Chips were excellent, authentic heavy corn. My husband ordered 3 chicken tacos and those came open face, smallish, pretty. He said that it was cold (because that amount of chicken in an open face taco isn't going to remain hot long) and somewhat unseasoned. The wait staff didn't offer taco sauce or salsa, he had to ask for it. So, OK pretty but not compelling. The mesa bowl I had was also pretty, but not compelling. Few veggies, a couple slices of brussel sprout, bell pepper and onion on a bed of rice and black beans. If I choose to substitute meat for veggies then I really am looking for more veggies than that and something beyond a couple slices of brussel sprout. It was also the only up scale restaurant I've ever been to on a holiday particularly that didn't offer dessert after dinner. I found that really odd. We didn't ask, they might have had something. So, all in all we enjoyed the evening out but the restaurant food wasn't such that it would draw us back again. I'd offer a comparison to Mi Corazon in Cannon Beach... they offered things like a carne asada plate where the carne marinade included hibiscus and it was so delicious I came out of my vegan space to have a couple bites. It was absolutely delicious and sorta made you want to bathe in it. That wasn't the case with the dishes we had at Nuestra."

"TLDR: Order the vegan pupusas and the pan sin pollo! Loved everything about this place from the many vegan options to the staff ! I told my friend I would go vegan if he could find me a good vegan pupusa and he definitely did. We ordered the plátano (ateto fast to take a pic), pan sin pollo, and both of their vegan pupusas de masa de arroz. Everything was fresh to order and theflavor was immaculate! They make their own vegan crema centroamericana from cashews and it?s to die for ! The non vegan cremahas a very dístinct flavor and Mama?s captured it perfectly. My friend thoroughly enjoyed his pan sin pollo and couldn?t getenough of the consomé. I tried the vegan bean cheese and revuelta pupusa with jack fruit. I was so happy to learn that theymade the vegan pupusas out of masa de arroz! The salsa has the perfect consistency and the flavor complimented the pupusas. Wewashed everything down with a cold cola champagne. We were also offered a vegan Chile verde that wasn?t even on the menu yet! Ican?t say enough good about this place. The family that owns and operates the place was extremely friendly and really made usfeel at home. They were so kind and willing to answer any questions we had. I was thrilled to learn that the mother of thefamily had developed many of the recipes we were able to enjoy ! I will definitely be back again and again!"
