"Parking goes all the way around three sides of the restaurant. And this is truly needed, because of the large square footage inside the restaurant. The parking lot was full on a Wednesday night! When I walked in, there was a bar area immediately to the right for you to grab your first cocktail, but I have never had to wait for a table. They have an equally sized outdoor patio as they have available seating area inside. If you sit on the patio where you're not staring at the parking lot, you will be fully transformed into a little Mediterranean vacation with twinkle lights above the pergola and vines on the wall. The place was fully packed outside with many people sipping on Lemontinis. First, we got the Spanakopita, which was basically a savory baklava but with diced feta and spinach inside with tomato sauce to accompany it. The Skewers were fabulous to split with a pal, as they come with a large portion of protein kebabs with rice, tomato onion, Taziki, and two slices of pita. The chicken was so tender and could convert anyone who doesn't like chicken to like chicken. These Plateia chefs are absolutely using a thermometer to cook, because nothing has been overdone, ever. Little loud at times for my 32-year-old ears to hear, but it was because of the bustling environment with people all around chatting and and having a grand old time. How could you blame them?"

"Our experience at Christos tonight was absolutely horrible. When we arrived the manager asked us to wait because they were out of menus. An elderly couple were behind us and I overheard the man say he needed to sit down so I asked the hostess if we could all be seated without menus and was told we needed to wait for the manager. Once we were seated, the waitress came and asked me and my partner for our drink order and then turned and left. When she came back I asked her to take our friend’s drink order and she told our friend in a nasty tone that she had asked her if she wanted a drink and she had said no. My friend told her she didn’t ask her and I confirmed that. The waitress then argued with both of us about it so I asked my partner if we should just leave because it was quite uncomfortable. The waitress then leaned on the empty chair and yelled, “Do you want to order? Do you want to order?” Over and over and over. We all just looked at her and our friend told her to leave. Our friend then went outside and I requested the manager. The waitress went and talked to the manager and he proceeded to do everything but come talk to us. My partner went outside and I went up to the desk to wait. When the manager did come talk to me I told him what happened and he said that we were impatient from the moment we got there because we told his trainee to seat us without menus. I told him we were not in a hurry and I ASKED for all of us to be seated because of what the elderly man behind us had said. I also told him I only asked for our friend’s drink order to be taken-we weren’t even ready to order food. Our friend had never had Greek food so we were still explaining all the items on the menu. The manager said he and the owner would talk with the waitress and I thanked him for that but also let him know I would be posting this review. There’s more that transpired but not enough space here to add it. We didn’t eat but I rated the food high because it’s always been good."

"A lot of mixed feelings after our recent visit for a birthday. First off, our server was great. I felt bad that she had to memorize so many specials. They had about 7 specials going that she had to recite. She was very attentive and good about answering our questions. So the service was great, no complaints there. Now onto the food. We ordered the following : appetizers were saganaki with mushrooms, dolmades with tzatsiki, and a sample of the octopodi. The saganaki was bland and the few small pieces were lost in a sea of mushrooms. It came with pita-which was pillowy, soft and warm-but trying to top a pita with the scattered pieces was awkward. The dolmades were good and the tzatsiki was good but I have had better at other places in the city. I know that ordering octopus is risky, and I have liked it before so I thought I’d try it here, since they offer a sample. I’m sad to report that it was terrible. Drenched in olive oil and not much else, it tasted fishy and the texture was weird, kind of like a canned oyster. It needed lemon, salt, garlic. It just didn’t seem to be of good quality or well prepared. For our entrees we ordered the pastisio, and the cod which was on special. Comes with soup or salad for an extra $5 as opposed to being on its own, which seemed a bit odd. The pastitsio was good. Drier than I remember and the amount of meat was excessive. But it was probably the best thing we had. The salad came before the cod and it was really not good. Wilted lettuce, 2 pitted Kalamata olives, mealy tomatoes, a lot of cucumber and vinaigrette that tasted bottled. I dint even finish the tiny portion. The cod was cooked in lots of olive oil, onions and garlic. It was a decent portion and was cooked well enough, although a little chew in parts. The dominating flavor was roasted garlic. I liked it but didn’t love it. At the end, after we ordered two boughatsa to go, we were given a birthday baklava at the table. I can appreciate the gesture but…we just ordered two desserts to go because we were too full to eat more. We took a bite out of courtesy and found it dry and overwhelmingly seasoned with clove and/or cinnamon. I’m sad to give a mediocre review for a place with so much history in the neighborhood. Mpls sorely lacks good Greek places and I can’t recommend this either, as Gardens of Salonica does feel tired."
