"Thanksgiving special at Schooners... Today was interesting and it being the holiday not sure how to rate. One of the very few places open during thanksgiving and during a pandemic. That was a plus. Being a bar/restaurant didn?t have much expectations but given the non existent choices, I decided to give it a try. At first only 4 patrons and was greeted rather quick. Given the option to sit anywhere, I did. Took a few passes from staff to finally ask me if I wanted something to drink. I ordered the **** Mary and it came with a bonus. Not sure what is on the cheese but I removed the entire garnish. The **** Mary was ok but strong which is better than being weak. I asked if I could order after waiting without being asked. I ordered the ?Thanksgiving Special? which was supposed to be ham turkey but my order was missing the ham. I noticed a table across from me order the same thing but asked the waitress to take back. Not sure why but it didn?t have ham. I can only assume that?s why. The ?Thanksgiving Special? was ok... The turkey had a slight snap on my teeth but was moist and gravy had good flavor. Green beans tasted as if was from can but the toppings tasted from scratch. Stuffing and mash was pretty good. Not the greatest but better than ok. Overall besides the stuff on my **** Mary cheese. I can?t complain but can?t recommend either. Given the choices on thanksgiving, it?s better than non. Plus, is you are supporting local business and helping the staff earn some money. Hospitality was lacking in the beginning but half way through my meal my waitress was attentive. Some slight improvements and this place can be awesome. Any other day C+. Given the situation B."

"We needed a place to meet some family in the area and I had saved this place on my Yelp list some time ago. Entering you will find it is a pretty big place...a lot bigger than it looks from the outside, It's tucked in a strip mall corner and pretty easy to find. They have a really nice large patio area that I would love to come back and use. We asked about flights as I did see anything listed, they do them a bit differently. Each beer has a flight price (that I missed) so you can do as little or as many as you like, I am a big fan of this concept. I ended up getting 6 and I really enjoyed them all. They have quite a few different drafts and some outside beers, it was an impressive selection. On to the food, they have mostly the kinds of things to expect to find, pretty typical gastropub menu. Being a cool fall evening I was drawn to the Meatloaf, my wife got the Fish and Chips. We also started with Pretzel Bites, a perfect beer pairing food and Hushpuppies, I wish i took a pic before they were immediately devoured, these are upscale Hush Puppies served in a row of 5 or so on a bed of beer cheese, they were elevated deliciousness. The food overall was very good, the meatloaf came with asparagus that was cooked softer than I would have liked but that's a minor annoyance. The large slabs of meatloaf were stacked on a pile of mashed potatoes that were a bit too thick and gummy but everything tasted good. My wife was very impressed with the whitefish fish and chips. It's a fun place especially with a group, it was very empty when we were there and we look forward to going back soon."

"Let me set the scene Sunday afternoon, around 12:30pm. Completely empty dining area, scattered few in the bar. Probably more staff than customers. I ask for an Oc(K)toberfest. They give me one but they have 2 on tap. Which one is it? They don't know. Already have a bad feeling. My son order boneless wings with fries and I get a mushroom Swiss burger with fries. Food comes out and my son's order is wrong the wings are not boneless, the server saw it and took it back. She comes back a while later to let us know where his food is. Ok fine. She asks me how mine is. Really? Like I'm gonna eat while he has nothing. She than tells me how this is not her regular gig. Ok cool. I can understand why she is making mistakes and am ok with that. My boy's food comes out and after a few the manager comes out to give me $5 off my next visit if I spend a certain amount. She asked how everything else was. It's kinda not good. There is no flavor in the burger, the fries are WAY over cooked. The manager offered me fresh fries. Yeah I said no, you have no one in the restaurant and you can't come close to getting these few simple items correct? Our waitress was nice but the manager looked so sad like she had the life sucked out of her soul somehow, still left the server over 20% since she was ok. I will not be going back because the food was bland and overcooked, not to mention wrong."
