"Every experience I 've had with THIS Amy 's location in particular has been nothing short of stellar. I live not too far from here and much like many other overworked/underpaid adults my age eat way too much ice cream. Therefore, I can assure you my critique is well founded. The ice cream is nothing short of 5 stars. As far as the customer service and the personnel goes also 5 stars. I scrolled through some other (negative) reviews and even though we 're all entitled to our opinions, I 'm entitled to say that they don 't know what they 're talking about! Without being too revealing, I once stopped in LITERALLY 1 minute before closing time to get ice cream for my girlfriend who was having a particularly rough time of the month . I was fully expecting to be met with (justifiable) disdain by the employees who 'd already almost finished closing shop, but it was a calculated decision... Anyways, the girls working couldn 't have been nicer. We shared pleasant convo while they scooped my ice cream and I went on my way. These were teenage girls, by the way. I 'm much older and have spent years working in the service industry and even I wouldve been disgruntled with a visit THAT late. Today, I went in with a different request. I asked if I could hang a flyer for a fundraiser I 'm running for a friend. I didn 't have to tell them what it was for (my brother who has terminal brain cancer). Not only did they say yes, but I was given a prime location to hang the flyer. As cliche as it sounds, I now go to Amy 's for more than just the ice cream. I go because I know I can expect to be met with cool people with big smiles."

"A great place for some authentic French dining experience! We went for lunch and desserts. Pastries get 5 starts, and the food gets 4. I only got to taste the macaroons and the French baguette, but I'm going off a friend's review that all the pastry/dessert items are top notch. She lived in France for years and took home some $50 of desserts after lunch. That says it all. So I trust her and give them 5 stars on the desserts. The baguette was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with warm puffs of air with every bite. The macaroons were amazing, but to be honest, they were not better than the ones from Shorewood's North Shore Boulangerie... On to the food. Oh, and I didn't quite realize from looking up the pictures on yelp before we arrived, but they have a bigger dining area upstairs, so what you see when you enter is not all. Plenty of room for a nice dinner. Confit de canard crepe The crepe was delicious, but personally, I wasn't wowed by the duck confit. It might be just me I've not had it much to begin with, so I may just not like duck confit in general. I like duck but more the Peking style. Filet de Boeuf with fries Both the fries and the sandwich was great. If you're into large portions, don't think you'll get it here. But again, the bread was flawless, but the beef itself was a bit lacking in taste. Crostini de Brie Basically baguettes topped with brie and toasted. Ooh, they had some good brie and I've already raved about their baguette. Moules marniere Mussels in sauce true French style and quite amazing. Overall, the breads and the appetizers were top notch, but the entrees themselves were somewhat lacking personally. I would like to try their dinner menu before giving up on the dining experience though."

"I’ve been to many vegan restaurants around United States and most of the vegan restaurants in the Detroit area and Ann Arbor area, with that being said I had high hopes for this restaurant because of the high ratings. First let’s talk about the service. My first visit our waitress forgot about us when we got there because I don’t think she knew she had a table so we sat there for about 20 minutes with nothing u til we said who is out waitress then someone was sent over. Once we placed our order and received our food which took about 35 minutes to get which isn’t to bad but on the longer side, the food was bland, flavorless, and what you would imagine vegan food tasted like 50 years ago before the art of great chefs and flavors collided with vegan cooking. We had a table of four and every person at the table had some kind of issue with their meal, i’ve never experienced before because usually were impressed with vegan cooking especially in Michigan lately. The bill came to $89 for four meals two were dinners two were light meals and three drinks. The second visit because I thought maybe the first time I didn’t get a chance to get something I liked so about six months later I went again with my husband. He was hopeful because of the pictures and reviews on yelp. Sadly he and I were once again scratching our heads on why this place was rated one of the best vegan places in royal oak. Our waitress would barely smile and acted like I was putting her out when I asked where our appetizer was that she forgo and had come out with our meal. My drink was empty before the meal and ever asked to refill or purchase another. The spaghetti had large wheat noodles that were a tad hard, the chili was good and filling, the Blue tortilla chips I loved but they heat the salsa which was gross it tasted like I was dipping my tortilla chips in hot marinara sauce. My burger was good and filling but on the bland side but still good for a vegan burger. The coleslaw was basically chopped up cabbage with little season, taste, or sauce. I really wanted to love this place it is literally one bock from my house but I hate to say it’s just not a place I would ever want to go to ever again."

"I had Caitlyn for a server and she was great. I went for Valentines day and they were out of a side dish that I really wanted to try which was the mac n cheese. Not sure if they ran out of pasta or cheese but that was a bit disappointing. Upon ordering steaks my party was informed that what our cooked preference was would not be what we'd receive based on how the chef preferred to cook to the steaks. For example, I wanted my steak medium but she told me that he'd cook a medium steak more medium rare and if I wanted true medium that I'd have to request it medium well. To me, that's weird because why not just cook someone's steak how they prefer it. Based on this I'm assuming that the chef is one of those highly prejudiced ppl who hates ppl that orders steak well done lol. Me, personally, I don't like well done steak and don't necessarily like when ppl want one but it's not my life's mission to infringe on people's right to eat their steak however they want it either. The bread that they serve is absolutely amazing! It's like a cheese muffin but so much more than a cheese muffin at the same time. Cocktails are not watered-down at all. You order an alcoholic beverage and you're gonna taste and feel it for sure! The brussel sprouts were very delicious, a tad bit more on the sweet side than I'd prefer but I've been on keto for over a year so my taste buds have changed a lot and anything sweet tastes overly sweet to me. Over all, the service was top notch and the food was definitely good. The sides are huge portions so they're not just for one person. I would say the ambiance is more on the upscale side but I saw ppl casually dressed or even in what appeared to be street wear."
