"Been searching for a good Chinese restaurant near Kingsville since i moved into the area, and the Asian Cafe was definitely not it. Instead, it was some very poor quality food. The pork fried rice was a real disaster. It was both gummy and dry. Like they overcooked the rice 3 times too long yesterday, than left it to dry out overnight before turning it into pork fried rice today. This was a lower quality product than the cheapest frozen Chinese rice I've ever sampled in my college days. It was too terrible to eat. I ordered Hunan chicken, a favorite dish of mine, but what i received wasn't Hunan chicken. Hunan chicken shouldn't have yellow onions in it, it should have green onions. Shouldn't have green beans in it either. It should have red bell peppers in it, which this did not. And it should be spicy and taste like Hunan, which again was all missing. The baby corn, too large, dry and crunchy. So I'm not sure what i was served. But if this is your Hunan chicken, probably scrap the whole recipe and start over. The crab rangoons didn't have crab meat in them. It had a light crab flavor, but seemed to be from crab fluid instead of crab meat. The cream cheese filling was also off, lacked of cream cheese, and was more a processed cheese. Like all fried foods It wasn't disgusting, but it wasn't something i would order again either. Overall, the quality of the food from this restaurant is poor to below poor. Hopefully this restaurant will re-examine what they are serving. Cutting every corner possible and serving yesterdays food, will not attract customers. Consider putting out a quality fresh product instead, price it reasonably, and people like me will buy from you once or twice a week. Why is there no reasonably decent Chinese food in this area?? All 5 Chinese restaurants i have visited have been below average. The Asian Cafe so far has been the worse of the lot. Even the best at Bamboo Garden was just meh, its ok. I'll keep looking"

"Who doesn’t love a bit of mouth numbing watery ness? After living in Shanghai for years and being married to a Chinese man, it’s safe to say, I love Chinese food! We discovered this gem at a previous location in Garden Grove, and we instantly fell in love. The food will make you shout and the price point will make you shout even louder. Unfortunately, that location closed down so we had been waiting for an occasion to come up to Lomita from Orange County. We came up for our anniversary and it was worth every cent and mile. Taste: While I lived in Shanghai, I probably didn’t have the most authentic Sichuan cuisine, but for sake of argument, it was close enough. There is something about the 麻 (numbing) of peppercorns mixed with the heat of chilis. There are definitely dishes I like more than others, but I can’t say there was one bad choice on our table. Everything was simply amazing. Mushrooms, heat, 魔芋 (sorry, I don’t know how to say this in English), flavor, meat, and everything that came out of their kitchen was fire. Price: At first glance, each dish seems kind of expensive. Once they’re served, you’ll know you’ll be eating for days. We have a tendency to over order, so that meant lunch for us and our daughter the next day. We spent around $60 $70 for our meal. For authentic Sichuan cuisine, I didn’t feel this was all that bad. Again, this gave us leftovers that we happily garbled down the next day. So we’ll worth the cost. Recommendations: 口水鸡 mouth watering chicken (can’t remember how they translated it on the menu) 干果菌类 dry pot assorted mushrooms (Anything dry pot is amazing I also like it with frog) 水煮鱼 boiled fish in chili oil (by far my favorite anywhere I go) Other recommendations (didn’t have this time): 麻婆豆腐 tofu in a pork chili sauce 干煸四季豆 basically green beans (a big fav of mine) 牙签羊肉 the best lamb you’ll ever have 孜然羊肉 more lamb you’ll love but with cumin 泡椒木耳 wood ear mushroom is rubbery but filled with collagen for beautiful skin lol also good for vegetarians I could go on and on, but if you’re looking to venture outside of your typical Panda Express repertoire this is the place to go!"

"I spent 4 days in downtown Tampa for the FL Bar Exam and got spoiled having okonomiyaki and bao (with different meat fillings, red bean filling, coconut cream filling, but also a breakfast bao, hamburger bao and bbq bao). When I returned to Viera West, I wanted bao badly but a nearby search in Grubhub found this place (but no bao pics on the app) so I was confused. Still, the menu intrigued me and the reviews revealed why it’s priced higher than Hop Bo, Thai Hana and my more local Asian restaurants. On Sunday, I had made rice in my zojinshi and stir fry mushrooms, zucchini and cabbage in my wok but I was missing meat so I resolved to get some on Monday. On Monday afternoon, I placed a Grubhub order for pickup on my way home from work. The restaurant is located in the strip of stores plaza next to the ALDI plaza in Suntree so I took US1 North then Pineda to Wickham. Pickup was simple with not much of a greeting but I was still in my work clothes with badge and even I don’t talk to LEO/cops when off duty so I get it. While waiting for my packaged dinner, I noticed the bar had 2 elderly couples being regaled by the younger male bartender. There were tables in the room to the left of the hostess lectern; the tables were stylishly set with white tablecloths, cloth napkins and water goblets awaiting a dinner crowd. It looks like a fine place for a date night if this food is as good as the reviews, I thought. I decided to try 2 menu items I’ve not had before: zhong’s dumplings and shredded pork peking style. I was NOT disappointed. I’ve no idea who Zhong is but these 5 dumplings bearing his name were sweet yet spicy, seasoned with scallions, and filled with meat. I can definitely see why they’re $12/$13 per order they’re the bomb! As for the shredded pork Peking style (which I added atop my own cooked white rice despite my order coming with their white rice because I really just wanted the meat; I’ll eat their rice later), it was also sweet spicy delicious (I ordered medium spice, but I think I’ll go spicier next time). The amount in the photo is not even half of what was in the flat to go container. I thought I’d eat seconds but all 5 dumplings, a portion of shredded pork Peking style, stir fry vegetables and white rice was filling enough. I’ve got enough pork for leftovers. In my package was a card about the quality of their food (perhaps one reason for the higher price point), which was appreciated. It also had a QR code for their menu so I used my phone’s camera to pull it up and lo and behold! They serve steamed pork dumplings like the dinner bao I had in Tampa which is what I was looking for all along! Maybe if the Grubhub app had a photo (hint, hint) or the hostess offered a physical takeout menu, I would’ve ordered this on Monday before even leaving the restaurant. Oh well, looks like I have another order to place with Red Ginger…"
