"It was a disappointing experience last night and unfortunately I wish I would’ve asked for a manager rather than just paying $140 (after tip) and taking my undercooked food ToGo. Started with the Fondue, it was definitely nothing special for $18…. cheese, old bread cubes, mushrooms and halfway RAW chicken cubes. We were starving and our server hadn’t come back outside so we just ate the bread and shrooms and told her about the raw chicken. She removed it and said it would be “discounted”. In my 20 yrs of working in the restaurant industry I have NEVER had a item “discounted”. Who charges someone half the price since they ate half of it while waiting to find their server? Unreal. Our meals arrived and they were undercooked as well. It was like all the meat was cooked on the lowest setting or something. None of it had any color to it. The filet had no searing whatsoever. It was also prepared rare/MR rather than Med as ordered. The pasta dish was the same. No searing on the sausage or shrimp. The whole pieces of garlic were raw and crunchy. You absolutely can’t leave whole garlic in a dish and not properly cook it. My husband is always very accommodating to me and will switch dishes if I don’t prefer mine. Neither of us complained to each other but both of us, asked if the other would like to taste so we switched. After two bites, I knew I couldn’t eat anymore and he said “I just can’t eat this, it’s also raw”… he will literally eat anything usually. We boxed our meals paid the tab and left. The disappointment comes from: 1. me not speaking up… after working in a restaurant for forever, I HATE to complain. 2. This was my second time here and we had the same server both times. She didn’t remember us at first, but halfway through our meal she finally did. We had an app, large salad, 2 meals, dessert and drinks and ate EVERYTHING on our plates. $50 tip. This time we ordered half the amount of food and didn’t eat hardly any of it. Our server should’ve picked up on that"

"Updating: FO2 part deux It needed to taste their cocktails, so it went back. I wanted a Manhattan, but the rye whiskey wasn't there yet. So got the sidecar, don't think I had it before, it was a well-made drink. Also got the duck confit salad: duck leg was boiled as it should be, fall tender, but still moist, tasteful, the salad had dried figs and hazelnuts in it, great taste combination, beautifully dressed, low on the acid. It was there at 7 p.m., there was a short line that moved quite fast, but no place to sit inside. We were friends with two people sitting at the bar, so we got their seats. Besides, we've been in two friends who were there at night, very cool. The first lunch service of FO2 was today, from noon. We arrived at 11:50, of course there was already a line. The doors opened at 12:07. Then there were lines to put in your order. I have the mussels (curry/lime), they were excellent, simply cooked, great taste. Estimated type of costly at $14, as shells are not so expensive. I also have the sweet potato fries, now I understand all the raspberries. And the Tripel Carmeliet, from their list of really special beers – this beer was fantastic! Many of the beers are served in the various beer companies glasses – Nice Touch. My friend liked the burger, and the regular pommes were also really good. And you have to try the water. They use reverse osmosis filtration and the water tastes very pure. Everyone who worked there was so kind and was completely in the face of the attack. I have to go back to her special cocktails in the evening. Too bad for all hoopla and thus the lines. It would be such a great bar to just come. The room is very nice, with a 50-foot nut bar, and usually lots of wood everywhere. Beautiful red tiles on the wall in the sink area where the toilets are."

"We had a nice, solid meal here. I think the ambience is nice here, and I wouldn't hesitate to take someone here for a date! There were just a few things that I felt could be improved, hence the 4 stars. We ordered the mussels, friend got a cobb salad and I listened to Victor G. and got the burger minus the bacon). The mussels were very good. Sauce was super garlicky and yummy. A few of the mussels were closed, so not perfect, but I would order them again. I didn't try the cobb salad, but it looked really delicious... perfect avocado and a good portion of chicken. It got a thumbs up from my friend. The burger was definitely as good as promised. I found it to be nice and juicy, very tasty with distinct flavors. I thought it was pretty excellent... I gobbled it down super quickly. I wasn't a big fan of the fries though, their texture was off for me. They tasted kind of stale, even though I knew they couldn't possibly be. I'm kind of a fry snob, so maybe I'm just picky... but the real problem with them was the house-made ketchup. The ketchup is unappetizing, bordering on gross. I ate it because I felt obligated to after the waiter's little spiel about it. Dear all restaurants everywhere: Can we please stop with the artisan ketchup thing? Everyone just wants Heinz anyway! I ended up dipping the fries in the mussel sauce. but I would've preferred ketchup. : I would definitely return to Rustic Tavern and try some of their other stuff. But next time, I'll smuggle in a bottle of Heinz!!"

"I recently dined at Affina for my 26th birthday and felt compelled to leave a review on how great the experience was. The restaurant is cozy, modern, and in a perfect spot in downtown Carmel. It's the perfect mix between casual and elegant. Andreas, our guide for the evening, was energetic, fun, and knowledgeable he gave us excellent service despite a very full dining room and many other tables to attend to. We started with the burrata which was very fresh and delicious. I had the carbonara and my girlfriend had the steak. The carbonara had one of the better sauces I've ever tasted on any carbonara and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The steak was also well cooked and came with its own delightful sauce with tasty side veggies that had a very distinctive, original cook and flavor. Two common dishes that the chef put a refreshing and flavorful take on. Mark the piano player took the evening to the next level by leading the restaurant in singing a happy birthday for me. This might embarrass some so know that my girlfriend specifically asked for this and not only did Mark accommodate her request, he was gracious, genuine, and professional about it. The little things like Mark's personal touch are what made the meal, night, and restaurant so memorable. I've dined at a lot of restaurants in Carmel, where there are many fine ones, and Affina was among the best dining experiences I've had. Thank you Affina! Cheers, Evan"

"FOLLOW YOUR HEART MARKET AND CAFE is a wonderful vegan eatery. Dinning in or carry-outs, you will find how good American style, vegan cooking can be. The vegan market includes organic fresh vegetables, a bakery, and a selection of refrigerated, frozen, and canned vegan products. Many difficult to find vegan food products and Follow Your Heart (brand) of vegan products are displayed. Located in the Follow Your Heart natural foods grocery store , this unique restaurant offers an upscale menu of coffee shop favorites, that are vegan. Separated from the retail store, the room is relaxing, softly illuminated with lighted salt crystals and sculptures. The tables and chairs are comfortable. There are no booths. A small patio, in front of the store, also offers table service. Our server is knowledgeable and friendly. The straws are made of paper. The napkins are made from recyclycled material. No styrofoam is used. Follow Your Heart is doing their part to save our planet. I ordered the Club Sandwich. It 's large, very large. Three slices of whole wheat bread, a garden of veggies, vegan turkey slices, house-made vegan baccon crumbles and vegan cheese, and, of course, Follow Your Heart 's Vegenaise spread. The massive sandwich was covered with crispy french fries. Luckly, they divided the sandwich into four, holding it together with sandwich picks. I ended up devouring the delicious sandwich, but, sadly, left most of the fries. I brought home my wife 's favorite pastry, a 'Cigar. ' The vegan, sugar coated, flakey crusted, cinnamon flavored, tubular pastry is delicious. My wife cuts it into bite sized pieces and enjoys them for a few days. Many of their sandwiches and entrees are available for takeout in the refrigerator case, located near the front of the store. I particularly enjoy the triple layer, vegan club with bacon bits, turkey, tomato, lettuce, and Vegenaise. It 's similar to the restaurant 's, only the bread in not toasted. STUFF: Prices are reasonable. Everything is wheelchair accessible. Parking in their lot is free. There is a handicapped entrance, near ADA spaces at the rear of the parking lot. Metered street parking is also available. ADA compatible restrooms are located at the rear of the store. Since 1970, Follow Your Heart 's factory store offers their nationally recognized food products and a broad selection of competitive vegan products. Their bakery 's pastries are vegan and delicious."
