"So here is the deal: my son and I are both foodies and decided to take a trip to New Orleans to see what this glorious city had to offer. Our first stop in our quest for food was Felix’s Restaurant Oyster Bar. We were lucky that we had an early flight into NOLA so that we could get out and explore. As my son and I walked Bourbon Street, we spotted this gem on Iberville St. We stopped in; I am sure glad we did. We were seated immediately. Since this is also an oyster bar, we got a plate of raw oysters to start our food quest. They were plump and delicious. My son ordered the Bayou Sampler which consisted of red beans rice, jambalaya, and crawfish étouffée. He “allowed” me to sample his sampler; all three were stellar. They all tasted exactly as traditional NOLA dishes would/should taste. I went out on a limb and ordered a bowl of turtle soup. I figured I would have plenty of time to try the traditional food of NOLA so I went with something different. Wow, just wow. It was amazing. The atmosphere of the restaurant is exactly what one would expect. But perhaps the best part of the whole experience was the staff. Everyone we encountered was exceptional. Felix‘s should be proud. Of all the staff we encountered, the most exceptional by far was our waiter. His name was Devin. He went above and beyond. He was spectacular. I would argue he was the best of all the waiters and waitresses my son and I encountered in NOLA. I hope if Felix’s gets a chance to read this, they let him know what my son and I thought about him. He was spectacular. Thank you. Throughout our stay in New Orleans, my son and I talked about Felix’s. We had it in our heads that we would stop by again before we left. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Now, we did get to a lot of places. We hit a total of eleven in the three and a half days we were there. My son and I both agreed that Felix’s Restaurant and Oyster Bar was our favorite. Please go to Felix’s and check it out. You can thank me later."
