"So disappointed in our experience at Felix's. We went with pretty high expectations, but this was our least favorite restaurant and meal from our latest NOLA visit. We went in for lunch on a Friday, and there was plenty of seating available. Once at our table, water came out quickly and our order was taken. Things went downhill after that. Just before our food was served, I noticed a drip from the A/C vent in the ceiling above me, as it splashed my left arm. I skootched my chair over a bit to avoid. Once we had food, it happened again and this time splashed the table close to my plate. As the restaurant was half empty and we didn't see our server, we picked up our plates to move to the table next to ours. Our server appeared and said we couldn't do that then proceeded to push our table closer to that one, about 2 ft from it. She seemed mildly annoyed. No apology or offer to move us to a different section. The water continued to drip, now splashing my leg each time, but at least it wasn't getting into my food. Now the food.. was mediocre at best. We ordered chargrilled oysters, raw oysters and the seafood salad. So disappointing. The chargrilled oysters were sitting in a lake of butter, which was also soaked into the bread to the point you could squeeze it out in a stream. They were way over seasoned and tiny too. The raw oysters were also small we have had much better where we live in Birmingham, for less money. The seafood salad was better, with pretty fresh produce and tasty boiled shrimp on top. The lump crab meat was just that no seasoning and just dumped on. Food presentation was sloppy and well below that of any other restaurant we visited. Our server never asked whether the drip problem was better and when people were seated at the table next us now very close it was crowded and we were clearly in their space. It was uncomfortable. Overall, the food was sub par and service was worse. When you go to New Orleans for oysters you expect the best. Being a South Louisiana native, I'd say these were far from that. Coupled with the poor service experience Do Not Recommend."

The perfect balance of a relaxed atmosphere with find dining. Prices were good, staff was friendly and pricing and portions were in line with what I expected. The perfect New Orleans experience. Highly recommend.

My worst food experience in New Orleans. The 30 minute wait was ok for a restaurant as reputable based on the reviews. They missed an order of the blackened chicken pasta which took 42 minutes while all other tables around us were being served. To top it off the server said it wasn't her fault! Go figure.

This place is gross and stingy. The food was ok but over price. After waiting in line in the heat, they charged us an admin fee on the bill!! The guy who assigned seating was unfriendly and never said thank you, so why should we had to pay that fee???? Never come back. The Bourbon House across the street is a much better choice for similar price! View menu

Alligator appetizer was delicious. The Cobb salad was good. Husband ordered shrimp and grits. It was okay, but was more bland than I’m accustomed to. Chargrilled oysters had good flavor but were too salty for my liking. I wasn’t a fan of the potatoes with creamy dill and aioli, but others may love it. Overall, the food was prepared well and looked appetizing, just wasn’t to my taste. Brian was a good server. The table we were seated at was next to an ac register that was dripping so much condensation it caused a slip hazard in the main walkway. Not sure if it’s consistently problematic or not.

I went last year and had some disappointments. Nonetheless, the location made me want to try it again. I'm so glad I did! The reasons I gave a 4 for the food is because I wish the oysters had been cold, for one. But they were still quite good. The other reason is because the gumbo and ettouffe were mostly rice. But let me tell you...the flavors of those dishes, and the red beans and rice, were so delicious! Had a top shelf margarita that wasn't very good, but the bartender happily made the adjustments I requested. Our server, Chrissy, was top notch!! We sat downstairs on the patio after dinner. I could not ask for a better experience. Great view, beautiful weather, nice live music. We will d...
