"The highlight of our dining experience at Kona Grill was definitely the excellent service provided by our waiter. Unfortunately, the rest of our meal did not live up to expectations. The cocktail menu consisted of overly sweet options, and our appetizers and main dishes were subpar at best. However, the sushi was exceptional. The prices were surprisingly steep considering the portion sizes and overall quality of the dishes. We had been looking forward to trying this restaurant, but we will not be coming back."

"I have to admit my first impression when I strolled into the establishment was a bit overwhelming. However, after being greeted at the host stand with the utmost respect from the hostess my mind was put at ease. That set the mood for the rest of the night. The attentiveness of the entire staff, they're dedication, and overall mood far exceeded expectations. Menu options were definitely select, drink selections made to perfection. To the bartender whom eloquently constructed our drinks my hats of to you. To our server Damien, brother you knocked it out of the park last night. Anytime I go back and I have a party with me or I make any type of reservations there I will be requesting you as my server every single time you have an unrealistic energy and you are an amazing person. "The only issue I had with the place concerned the attitude of the hostess desk. I made a reservation for 8 people. However, I realized I forgot one person who was participating in a golf tournament and we didn't know he would definitely be there until he showed up. The reservation was on a Sunday at 7:00 p.m. I explained the situation and asked whether or not the table we would be at would accommodate adding a ninth chair to it should he show up. I received a bit of resistance and attitude like this could not be done since the reservations for 7:00 p.m. were full and it might require too much work to accommodate this request. I was told that I should call as soon as I knew whether or not this person was coming. I told her I could not do that since the golf tournament may not be over by 7 and my person may not be able to let me know his attendance until right at 7 or after. However, when I arrived at the restaurant, there were other people there. But it was not even a quarter full. By the time 7:00 p.m. came and went, we ended up being about the only table in the restaurant. We could have sat anywhere in the restaurant and would have been fine to add or take away people from the table. When you work in customer service, it's important to convey to the customer that we can do anything for you within normal requests and whatever has to be done behind the scenes to fulfill the requests are not the customer's concerns. I did not encounter this approach. I was disappointed."

"I had a 1:00 PM reservation for outdoor seating however the host never looked up my reservation and sat me indoor. The waitress took over 10 minutes to take our lunch order and never returned with our drinks (Water and Coke). We waited an additional 15 minutes and were never served anything. The whole entire staff that was present seemed to be either very nervous or not very friendly. Our waitress was nice but extremely overwhelmed. I will never go there again. Very unprofessional."

"I hadn't been to Kona Grill in over 5 years. We decided to meet up with friends who were staying nearby, and this was their choice of restaurant. I might consider going back for happy hour in the future, but not for dinner due to the high prices compared to other restaurants in the area offering similar menu items. For example, my pad thai with chicken cost $28, compared to $19 at Big Bowl. The patio was lovely, but our server was having a challenging night which impacted our overall experience."

"Came here with my husband and kids. Family friendly, ambiance was good, not too loud and had great seating for kids. Service was great. We had a wonderful waitress and every so often management would stop and ask us if everyone was good and everything was tasting right. Food was good. We had some happy hour items which were good. It is pricey, especially for a family of 6 (which we are). Kids meals were great for the value. We had some sushi and also a stake. We really liked the angry edamame and the spicy tuna roll. Overall, I would visit again but it is more of a splurge for us. Although we did order a bit more than normal since we wanted to try a lot and it was happy hour."

"KG should be ashamed of the set prices for some of their items. $14 for a SIDE salad. $9 for a side of mashed potatoes. These were not entree selections, truly sides. $17 for a lemon drop martini. I expect a bit higher for alcohol, but not $17. Service was a bit slow and because the doors to the patio area were open, it was pretty muggy in the restaurant."

"Made a reservation for NYE and was initially placed on a front patio which was inside and heated with overhead heaters which were blazing hot. There were plenty of tables in the actual dining room. We were then moved to a table inches from another even though nice booths were open. When you get dressed up and want a nice romantic dinner on New Year’s Eve and spend a lot of money you really shouldn’t have this experience. Our meal was very good but given the way I felt about the seating, I’d think twice about going for a special occasion (if at all)."

"Kona used to be our place to get sushi but since 2020 the quality of food had decreased, the price had gone up, the choices had gone from plenty to choose from to we rather not go there. "Sugoi Sushi is one our favorite places to eat in Corvallis. The sushi is very reasonable, you pay per plate so you get to try lots of different items. Plus there is a fun conveyer that guests can pick sushi from. When it is busy it can take a while to get food that is special ordered (not on the conveyor belt), but it's not too bad. Definitely worth a visit for anyone who likes sushi or anyone who wants to try it out."

"This restaurant was really great. It has a laid-back beach vibe with reasonable prices, even cheaper than midtown. The food was delicious, especially the appetizers (popcorn shrimp and fried chicken) which were surprisingly good, though they could have used a little less sauce. The chashu was much better than the overpriced options in midtown Manhattan. Overall, it was a good experience."
