"After reviewing the online menu, I made a reservation at Amber Dhara for tonight. Upon arrival, I was surprised to find that it had been replaced by Gup Shup, which offered a much smaller menu. We quickly adjusted to the change and figured out what to order. My Hyderabadi lamb biryani was quite delicious—better than what I had in Hyderabad last year. On the other hand, my wife's tandoori chicken was good if you focused only on the dark meat; unfortunately, the chicken breast was overcooked and quite tough to chew. Still, who really eats white meat with tandoori chicken anyway? It’s best to set it aside and forget about it. As for the saffron rice, there didn’t seem to be much saffron in it, and its citrusy flavor discouraged her from eating it. I didn’t mind it, but after the spicy biryani, plain rice didn’t tempt me. The service was average—neither particularly good nor bad. I noticed some balloons in the street-side window, which makes me wonder if we unknowingly attended a grand opening. At the end of our meal, the bill still mentioned Amber Dhara, leading me to think that perhaps Amber Dhara and Gup Shup are somehow connected, like characters in an Indian TV show. We might return; it wasn’t a compelling experience, but it wasn’t bad either."
