"I won a round of golf at the Edison Club through a raffle at an Alzheimer's charity event, which I planned to enjoy with three friends. I had been in touch with the club since last year, as the tournament was held late in the season, and I wanted to confirm if I could use the tickets this year. They assured me it was fine and told me to call on Friday since members get priority for weekend tickets.
After driving over an hour to the club, I reminded them of the tickets during the call the day before when they scheduled our tee time. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the tickets were not valid and they wouldn’t accept them. It was baffling that they couldn't honor the tickets they had issued. Their solution? We had to pay for a full round instead.
This is why so many country clubs are struggling. I spent more on raffle tickets than they seem to invest in customer service. They even had golf clubs with iron covers. If you’re looking for a place to become a member, I recommend trying Frisbee golf instead— you’d likely have a better experience there than at the Edison Club. The only reason I'm giving two stars is that I spotted a member with a Ferrari, and as a car enthusiast, that was a highlight. Great work on that!"
