"With the threat of rain, we were lucky to be given a table for two right by the front window, overlooking the street and their terrace. First priority was to choose the right bottle of wine to accompany our entree. Since it was Friday, we both chose the "Plats du Jour", great seafood Bouillabaisse and accompanied with a bottle of Drouhin's very dry chablis (very full and enjoyable). We started with the leeks in hoillandaise and finished with creme brule and profiteroles de Jules. Then we rolled down the hill back to our hotel.Great food and service. A classic French Bistro!"

"Worst Dining Experience in NYC!!! . We had a reservation for 3 at 630pm. Hostess seated us along the rows of high tables with high chairs. We requested a regular dining table since some of them were vacant however they said it’s reserved for other guest coming in around 20mins later. It was hard to eat since the seats are very uncomfortable. They offered us a regular dining table however we already finished our meal, they said they had a cancellation. We were hoping to celebrate Mother’s Day and have the best dining experience but it was the opposite. Food served don’t taste great either even the side dish we ordered mussels and they gave us french fries on the side. The pork chop was bland and hard to eat. In comparison to the price, food and service value is below par than other French and Italian restaurant. Will not come back to this restaurant again."

"Our table was ready for us. The food was excellent. We started with two each of the mussels in wine sauce and the shrimp with garlic aioli for the table. The broth for the mussels was exceptionally good so we kept asking for more bread to go with it. They were fairly stingy with that. We tried a selection of entrees including the Coquille St. Jacque, the mushroom risotto, the steak, the roasted chicken and the burgers along with truffle Mac and cheese and frites to share. No mention of the special occasions we were celebrating that were noted in the reservation. All were very good and served hot. Service was fine but not attentive. All In all, a good experience. I would return."

"great place for coffee or a quick lunch. the seats are in the open, so they bring their dogs! when we sat on an outside table, I'll hold the dogs and my wife will go in. my wife asked what I wanted, and a nice lady who enters the next table, told me what they have! very nice! they even brought out tasty for our 2 collisions! we will definitely return! I'm on the expensive side, but it's worth it."

"second visit in la colmar and oh my gott, everything is amazingly delicious! my shortcut to home (France) if I like tasty, opaque, fresh, flaky, organic, homemade foods. they can never go wrong with all wonderful goodies on their menu! the smoked salmon croissant, the benedikt is heavenly, with a genuine homemade Hollandaise sauce. I added a side salad with a homemade emulsionssalat dress! my ladies and men, la colmar is a must to visit, that is a family affinity that works hard to please our friends! must try the raisin croissant and almond croissant. I can only say!"

"The service was warm and welcoming, and the Dirty Chai was outstanding (and made with organic coffee, to boot!). The savory crepes were delightful, and the cozy atmosphere was further complemented by French music playing from the satellite radio. I would give it a perfect 10/10 and will definitely go back. I’m already looking forward to trying their chocolates on my next visit!"

"I loved the idea of customizing our own plate at this restaurant. We got to choose our protein, sauce, sweet, and starch, and everything was absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed the cocktail and wine selections recommended by our waiter. The service at the bar from Johanne and Julio was exceptional, and our waiter was just as remarkable, though we unfortunately didn't catch his name. Overall, we had an amazing experience."

"I wanted to go to barndiva for a few years and was thrilled to get a reservation while we are friends in the opposite. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. they are moved to a prix fixe model that is in order, and have done their best to the allium allergy of my friend that we appreciate. but if they do, they really have to nail the service, and they don't. it was half an hour between the curses (why? they knew what we would order! and the dinge really started to pull. there were some great differences in the teller size that seemed somehow crazy: the first cure was a choice between a Radicchio salad and a cross, and the salat was kind of massive, while the cross was just a few bites. three of the four curses were like that, and the last one was asked if we wanted to dessert. it was a request of the prix fixe, and while it was late, that was the restaurant did (we sat at 7:45 . the check was automatically set with a 20% size. eating was good, but I can't say it's an experience I would recommend."

"I'll definitely go back to try another entree. The pork chop was a good effort but a little disappointing. It looked nice with a thick coating of onions and arugula on top of that. But the cut was small and wasn't really a quality piece of pork. The arugula didn't seem to add anything to the dish. Onions were very good and added a little bit of overall sweetness. I ate at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and attentive to everyone. Great friendly service! The atmosphere is great. I was very comfortable. It was like being at a friend's house."

"I came in looking for a place to kill time and ended up coming back three times in two days. The pastries, hot drinks (I’ve tried the mocha, latte, and chai latte), and eclairs are all on point freshly baked and so delicious! The lemon tart I had yesterday was genuinely life changing. They also sell a variety of small gifts for you to take, like boxed macarons, eclair assortments, tarts, biscuits, and small chocolates, all very reasonably priced given their quality. While waiting in line today, I also saw a made to order tart that was ADORABLE, looked delicious, and only about 35 dollars???? Truly a gem tucked away in Midtown East!"

"The buttermilk chive biscuits were great but there were just three of them and they were a little bigger than one-inch squares. Disappointing for $14.00. We make healthy salaries and were still put off with that. The service was pretty bad, but the restaurant was busy. Still we watched table after table be served before us. Even though they were sat after us. Maybe we just got a dud foodserver. The Ahi Tuna Tartare was good, but it came with one five inch round tortilla chip. It was nowhere near enough. Our wine that we ordered with dinner was delivered as we were finishing our tuna. And that was because we reminded our server. We both had a salad. My wife had the pomegranate and I had the wedge. They were both very good. For dinner, I had the filet and my wife had the King salmon. They were both great. The steak was full of flavor and the sides were delicious. The salmon was equally as good. The main courses were the highlights and helped redeem for the poor service. Overall, I can't imagine we would go back or recommend it to friends. There are just too many restaurants in the Bay Area that are better."

"My partner and I ate here during the Formula 1 Grand Prix Weekend. Friends of ours had dined here before and highly recommended it, so we wanted to give it a try.The restaurant is in an old banking hall in the Hotel Saint James and is an utterly spectacular space. We were shown upstairs onto a balcony that overlooked the main dining floor and the chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The space felt elegant and rich.Service was amazing - they had to bring everything up flights of stairs. A 3-piece jazz band was playing downstairs, but the volume was perfect - it added atmosphere without having to raise our voices to converse.We did the a la carte menu, although they offer a tasting menu and a vegetarian tasting menu. The dishes were innovative and attractively plated and the server-recommended wine pairing was really, really good.Highly recommend this restaurant for a special night out."
