"We chose Mitchell’s for our anniversary dinner based on their reputation and we were not disappointed. The employees were more than courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. Many wished us a happy anniversary again as we were leaving. Service was great and the food was excellent. Last year we went to a seafood restaurant with fabulous views on Mt. Washington and the only thing good about that experience was the ambiance and view. Mitchell’s far surpassed them with the quality of our meal. After enjoying some delicious piping hot sourdough read, we ordered the filet/lobster combination and the prime rib/scampi combination. The steaks were comparable to those I have had at the best Chicago steakhouses. The lobster was fine, and the scampi was excellent. It was the best meal and dining experience we have had in a very long time! As to the setting, don’t expect the posh atmosphere that the quality of food would lead you to expect! The dining room is clean and tasteful with booths and tables. As we had early reservations and were one of the first to be seated, it was quiet and easy to talk initially. By the time we left two hours later, the room was packed and rather loud. This speaks to the popularity of this gem! I noticed two booths in the bar area that were in recessed alcoves. The next time we visit, I will request one of those tables. Speaking of the bar, we had a gin martini that was icy cold and delicious. The featured wine was selected to accompany our meal and it too was wonderful. We came home and ordered a case! Finally dessert, which was a pleasant surprise as it was complimentary on the occasion of our anniversary. We selected the key lime pie. Wow! Perfectly tart and very sweet and creamy. A great finish to the meal. We will definitely return to check out other menu options and their popular happy hour menu. Thank you Mitchell’s, for a great anniversary dinner!"

"We were out driving around the Brecksville area and decided maybe we could find a patio to sit on somewhere to stop for a few apps and a drink. First place we wanted to try was closed for a private party. So I suggested Burntwood in Brecksville. I hadn't been there in years. What a mistake. Pulled in the parking lot and no one was sitting on the patio on a rather nice day. Not sure why maybe it was closed for some reason, we didn't ask. We entered the restaurant and the lady that was greeting people told us that she wanted to just let us know that we would not be able to order anything that needed to be fried because their fryer wasn't working or something. You would think a restaurant would have mulitple fryers. So we decided to sit at the bar and order a drink and ask the bartender what was available that we could order for food. There were three tables occupied and two guys sittng at the bar. We ordered a bloody mary and a watermelon drink they had on the menu. The bloody mary came with a piece of celery only and when I picked it up to eat it was soft and drooped. I assume it had been sitting at the bar for a long time. I told the bartender and I handed it to him and he said yea that's pretty bad and never offered to get a another fresh piece. Guess the restaruant didn't have any celery either. The bloody mary tasted fine. The watermelon drink we think was supposed to be strained but instead was muddled and wasn't too good. We decided at that point to skip the limited food they had available because of the fryer situation and just asked for our check. As we were waiting for our check, we happened to look over by a table of where two ladies were sitting and there was a pile of towels on the floor with what appeared to be water around them. I assume they were trying to soak up water from some leak or something. Looked unappealing. We won't be back as the place also looks a bit run down. In all fairness, we have eaten at other Burntwood restaurants and things were better. We ended going to Creekside not far away and it was clean, lively and had great service, great food and drinks."
