"I recently dined at Vigneto and wanted to share my honest opinion of the dishes I tried. As someone who appreciates authentic Italian cuisine, I found it difficult to fully enjoy the food at this restaurant compared to traditional homemade dishes. I decided to order puttanesca, a dish that can vary greatly depending on the chef. While the flavor was good, I felt that the dish lacked finesse. The large chunks of anchovies and whole black olives did not appeal to me, and I would have preferred finely chopped green or grey olives instead. The addition of diced carrots in the sauce also seemed unnecessary to me. However, I did appreciate the generous amount of capers and the fact that the dish was made garlicky and spicy as requested. The use of dried pasta rather than fresh was also a disappointment, especially considering the price point. My boyfriend, who is not Italian, enjoyed his penne alla vodka and meatballs in marinara, although I personally did not care for the meatballs. In the past, I also tried the pizza here and found it to be mediocre. Overall, I may consider dining at Vigneto again if someone else was paying, but I would keep my expectations low. Despite my experience with the food, I did appreciate the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. I hope you have a better dining experience than I did!"
