"My friend recommended this little brunch spot and I was so happy to check it out. It's first come, first serve so come early if you want to try one of the many delicious pastries. Just wait in line, order, and find a table. My friend swears by the bread pudding, but the person in front of us ordered the last one. Booo! No problem lots of other stuff to try. For brunch, I wanted to order everything! The table ordered the potato pancake (with smoked salmon), French toast (tastes like creme brûlée), the burger, fries, eggs, and a couple of pastries. I ordered the Vietnamese latte, which is made with condensed milk. Yummmm! This place gets crazy busy so don't be scared by the long line, it's worth it. Since they are so busy, attention to detail can be a little dicey. Forgot our water, smoothie, etc. this happened across the board with different servers. There is valet parking. I circled the streets and found metered parking, which is free on Sunday. Score! Can't wait to go back!"

"Anniversary dinner with our two children, 8 and 10. We decided to sit on the veranda on a fairly wet June evening, and the ceiling fans provided a nice breeze. We find that most of the restaurants are overly air-conditioned, but Metro 8 didn't seem like a fridge even when we came in - that's a big plus for me! Our waitress was very nice and attentive without getting involved. She noted that it was nice to see children with books (and math in our conversation) instead of iPads. The steaks my husband and I ordered were as stated and delicious. So were the pages. Our girls loved their grilled chicken. Cocktails were good and just the right strength. Highly recommended."

"It's sad to say Roti has gone way downhill in the past two years. I used to eat here upwards of once a week but COVID forced me from being a downtown regular diner. I came back here for the first time in a while and the experience has changed dramatically. The chicken roti was burned a bit and overcooked/charred with burnt/bitter edges. The amazing purple pickled cabbage has been replaced with what might as well be a bag of cabbage from the grocery store. The seasoned cucumber/tomato salad garnish is gone. The hummus isn't the same. The employees are flat of affect and clearly don't want to be there. It's so sad to see one of my longtime favorites mail it in. I imagine I'll give Roti another chance at some point but this was really disappointing."

"The service at this restaurant continues to be disappointing. Even when you place an order in advance, it’s seldom ready on time, and there's always a chance it won’t be what you actually ordered. The staff frequently changes, and many of them seem visibly frustrated to be there and engage with customers. It's perplexing how management hires individuals who lack personality and exhibit such indifference towards their jobs. This is truly disappointing because Roti does offer good food, and the location is quite convenient. Management really needs to make some significant changes."

"I was in New Orleans recently and found this place through an app. The pound of crawfish was absolutely amazing! So flavorful and the crawfish were gigantic. Whenever I return to New Orleans, this will be the first thing I eat. It's hands down the best crawfish boil I've ever had!"

"Stopped by for a late night dinner while visiting Chicago. It was 30 minutes until closing, but staff happily made my bowl. All the ingredients were still available and not just the leftovers. Since I was the only one there, they immediately made my bowl and I was sitting down within 5 minutes.Ordered the Chicken Fattoush and all the ingredients still tasted fresh. They have several premade bowls with a rice or salad base or you can build your own. There's plenty of ingredients to customize it just the way you want. I wanted to try the Hot Chicken Pita, but opted for the Chicken Fattoush. Good food and service."

"I ordered the salmon pita, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were incredible, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. The restaurant itself is nice and clean. I would have rated it five stars, but the customer service left much to be desired. While I was trying to decide on my ingredients, the woman behind the counter was making faces and appeared impatient, which made me feel rushed. To make matters worse, she didn't include the correct ingredients. It's unfortunate that such a fantastic establishment has staff with such poor customer service skills."

"I've been there twice and this location has nailed it both times. Pita sandwich and rice plate were both fantastic. Exactly as I ordered it. Food was fresh and delicious, and the staff was friendly and funny. I forgot to ask for a certain sauce when ordering, but they happily gave me a to-go cup of the sauce. "I've been a loyal customer of Roti for years, but today I had the worst experience I've ever had there. The new menu is disappointing and seems like a cost-cutting measure for the restaurant, sacrificing quality in the process. The steak I ordered was bland and unseasoned, and the portion was so large that it was difficult to enjoy. Additionally, my boyfriend's pita was poorly prepared; the flavors weren't mixed well, leaving a gloppy sauce at the top and a thick layer of dry rice on the bottom. We're really upset to see Roti decline like this."

"If you’re looking for the perfect falafel, don’t miss out on the combination of chickpea salad, Persian cucumbers, Israeli pickles, and pickled carrots, all topped with garlic and red pepper sauces—you won’t be let down! I also ordered a side of couscous salad that I meant to save for later, but I ended up devouring it right after my falafel sandwich! The falafel itself was piping hot, crispy, and perfectly cooked—unlike some I’ve had from other places that were undercooked and unpleasant. Each bite was a delightful treat! "I used to really enjoy coming here for a build-your-own pita, but they've changed the way they prepare them. Now, instead of mixing the ingredients before stuffing the pita, they keep everything separate. As a result, when you take a bite, you end up with a mouthful of hummus while the protein sits at the bottom. I get that this might save time, but I don’t want to pay $20 for something that isn’t properly mixed. It’s frustrating to have to tear apart the pita just to combine everything myself. It’s disappointing because the ingredients are fresh and everything usually tastes great."

"I had the salmon bowl with hummus, purple cabbage, cucumbers, feta cheese, and saffron rice, and it cost $15—but actually, my meal was free! Roti on campus has been closed during the pandemic, and for their soft reopening, they were giving away free bowls to the first 200 customers. This was my first experience with Roti, and I loved it! The concept is similar to Chipotle; you can choose from a set menu or build your own bowl. I went for the custom option with salmon. I expected the salmon to be dry and bland since it was pre-made, but it turned out to be delicious—perfectly cooked and not overly seasoned. When I mixed everything together, I enjoyed an amazing bite every time. The cucumbers added a satisfying crunch, and the saffron rice was flavorful. I definitely recommend Roti! I let the gentleman behind the counter select the sauce for me, and I believe he chose the dill yogurt, which complemented the bowl beautifully. It was a refreshing and satisfying lunch!"

"Please bring back spicy beef/steak! I had lunch on Sunday 04/01/2023 with my family. The restaurant was in immaculate condition. Clean as a whistle, and my food was not only made right, it was delicious. I dine here frequently enough that my meal was handed to me as I was walking in, nice and smooth. My family and I had a great time. Givenchy, Ahmad, Ashley, and Janay were all busy doing their tasks to keep the restaurant in tip-top shape. Not only that, but they were all exceedingly kind. "If you're familiar with chipotle, it is the same assembly line model. If you are further familiar with Cava, it is exactly that but not as good. It is Mediterranean style food where you can build your bowl or pita, choose the base rice and/or salad), protein, and toppings. For the price, it's a bit expensive $16) when all is said and done. I think the food lacked bold flavors. It's not a bad option if you want a quick decent meal, but it's not the best.The space is super clean but small. The lunch rush is real but the line moves quickly. There is ample seating outside the actual restaurant."

"I will try to keep this review short... I placed a group order last week; however had issues with the online platform. The group link would not work. For the sake of time I went ahead and gathered each individual order and placed them myself. After I submitted the order, I broke each individual order out with names into a spreadsheet to assist store lead with labeling and to ensure that all orders were correct. I spoke with him on Friday, sent him and email per his request with all the details, asked for utensils and to ensure all names were on each item. Spoke with him again on Monday to make sure he had order and was ready to go for this Wednesday. Conversation had me a little insecure that it would not go well. Spoke with him again on Wednesday, the day of the order. Needless to say the order was 45mins. late, no utensils and a couple wrong items/ingredients. I was very disappointed. So why the 4 stars? Spoke with Melinda who quickly put me in contact with Team Lead Chris Terrazas at another location. They were very professional and apologetic. He rectified the situation and offered us free lunch to recoup relationship. So, sometimes mistakes will be made, but give a chance to correct. Thanks Melinda and Chris and 1629 K St. NW catering team for stepping in to make a bad experience better. Again apologies for long review."
