"Haven't been at this diner for nearly 8 years due to wait times and food issues but because it's been this long and it was early Sunday, I figured it was time to give another chance! It was around 7:45am by the time we arrived and thankfully; not many customers were there. We waited 5 minutes for seating. Once there we were greeted in timely manner, got our drinks but waited almost 15 minutes for food order to be taken. I waived down staff who then 5 minutes later got our orders done and food arrived after. Waited again nada so I got take out boxes myself from another waitress Didnt see our waitress until bill was placed. I truly under short staffing but you always make even a few seconds for any customer! Other then that the food was a much nicer portion then in the past and much better tasting then past! I do recommend Sunrise Diner for breakfast if you're not in a rush . I will be updating this review with lunch/dinner in near future!"

"My party and I were very disappointed in the service we received. We didn’t receive our food for about two hours after being seated. Our drink orders were taken shortly after being seated. Our food orders were not taken for over minutes after receiving our drinks. I went and found the waitress and I was told she would be over to take our orders in about seconds and she didn’t show up to take our party of orders for another minutes. My daughter ordered the mussels which tasted spoil and was brought to the waitress attention. Due to the food taking so long to receive the first time she didn’t order anything else and basically ended up not having dinner. I requested to speak with the manager after finally receiving our food. She said she would remove the cost of a bottle of wine and had three deserts sent to the table to be shared by a party of My bill alone was almost along with around another spent by my guest. I really felt more should have been done to make up for the poor service my guest and I received"

"update jan 2021: last year sunrise tons has added vegan options to their menu! now you can get vegan breakfast burritos, burrito bowls, chic toasts, salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps and more. it was delicious and vegan-friendly, but now it is even better! they also added vegan milk options for coffee. old review: this is one of my favourite restaurants, and it is always busy. when they go to the brunch at the weekend, they expect a waiting time. the menu is large, and there are several vegan options available, including a tofu scrambble to breakfast. the personal is about vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and healthy options, so this is a great place to go with a group of people both with and without food restrictions. the food and drinks are always good, and they can order coffee or cocktails from the bar before they sit when they have to wait for their table. tipp for vegans: after sitting you bring a small bowl with fresh bake for the table. These are not vegan, but they will bring happy they are obstinate, so be sure they know before the time they prefer."

"We enjoyed our breakfast from Grossman's, but there were a couple of hiccups that made this less than 5 stars. Ordering online was easy and gave us enough time to walk to pick up our takeout order. Pick up was not totally smooth. We arrived at the pick upcounter at the back and then were essentially ignored for between 5-10 minutes until the host came from up front. Took another 5minutes for him to find the other in the kitchen. The pastrami smoked salmon was delicious but each half bagel had 2 slicesonly. I do realize smoked salmon is not cheap, but $6 worth of smoked salmon should be a quarter pound listed at $22 perpound). The bagels were very tasty and had a good chew without being bready. Still worth it though and would recommend."

"The food at this restaurant is incredible. The atmosphere is just right. It's much better than Sotto and you can actually make a reservation months in advance. You can see the menu clearly and don't feel cramped like in a dungeon with people right on top of you. The bolognase sauce is decadent and full of flavor. If you haven't been here yet, you're definitely missing out."

"Went to this neighborhood gem for happy hour. This is definitely the best happy hour around and the hours are Monday through Friday, 4:30 to 6:30 PM. They offer draught beers for $4, house red and white wine for $5, select whites and reds and all well drinks for $7. I had the house red, a Cabernet Franc Blend and it was delicious. My husband and son ordered the Captain Lawrence Winter IPA and said it was fantastic as well. Meritage offers four small plates for $5 each attheir happy hour. We ordered one of each: Arancini, Calamari, Meatballs and Bocadillo. We also ordered the trio of spreads, Hummus, Romesco and Tzatziki which came with homemade pita bread for $7. All of the portions were generous and morethan enough for the three of us to share. Our bartender Paul was wonderful? attentive and professional. We sat at the spacious bar and there is also a cozy dining room and outdoor seating. They are open for lunch, dinner, and brunch. Thedinner menu is creative and serves farm to table fare. I took a peek at the menu and there are many seafood as well as meat choices all reasonably priced. They also have an extensive wine menu. This place is definitely a winner and we lookforward to returning soon!"

"Today I placed an order which totaled $49.Part of my order was for a “medium rare” cheeseburger. I must have said “medium rare” cheese burger 4 times; maybe more. The guy who taken my phone order also repeated it. I also said 3 or 4 times about directions to my apartment because there’s 3 elevators in my building. You take the wrong elevator you end up somewhere else in the building. The guy had no interest in listening to me nor writing it down. He repeatedly said the delivery guy will call me when he arrives at my apartment. The call lasted about 12 minutes. I’m very patient but it was aggravating having to repeat everything a few times.The guy assured me the delivery guy would call me. He didn’t.The burger was “medium well done” — I called back that phone call was another 10 minutes or more. I not only told whomever answered the phone about the burger but the guy who took my order talked to me! And then a woman spoke to me. Imagine!! The woman verified I DID order a “medium rare” burger but added that “the cook probably didn’t see that” — unbelievable!! What’s the point of asking for your burger a certain way? No apology from anyone. Very unprofessional; poor manners and rude. A “medium rare” burger was then delivered in its place. After spending almost a half hour on the phone I felt this place had no interest in their customers. I’ll never order from them again. PS — the burger was just okay."

"The food was good, and service was good as well. I got the crab cake sandwich. It wasn't huge, but was mostly lump crab cake with little filler. The bun seemed to be a basic potato bun, and it was not served with lettuce or tomato- just plain. I reallylike crab cakes, and am pretty particular about the quality. This wasn't the best, but wasn't bad either. It would have beenbetter with lettuce and tomato. It was very reasonably priced. The fries were good. It is a very pretty restaurant and seemslike it would be a good place for a date. The one downside was how loud it was when we were there (6:30 pm on a weekday). Therewere several families with small children, including babies that cried most of the time we were there. I think it's probably abetter family restaurant than a place for a date, as conversation was difficult."

"Bad service, it was booked in advance for a birthday, it was not received like other restaurants, it was never mentioned that it was a special occasion (birthday), not even in the dessert, and the piece of meat like it was in Water thawed, tasteless, uncooked and hard, I don't think we will be back, this is the third time we go and it was very bad, I don't recommend it"

"This was my third visit to Al's, and just like the previous times, it was fantastic! Even during the off-season, the restaurant was busy, yet the staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is relaxed, the decor is unique, and the establishment is clean and inviting. I celebrated my birthday here with a group of seven, and our waitress expertly managed our orders and separate checks. The food was excellent, arrived in a timely manner, and was delicious. I will definitely return! On a side note, I wish more people would give restaurants and servers more than one chance in their reviews—especially during peak season when things can get hectic. Everyone can have an off day, but this place is truly a special gem in Door County!"

"So first, when you google the breakfast buffet they come. #1 they do NOT have a breakfast buffet. Now that I was there and did not feel like spending another hour somewhere else to wait for a table and eat I just ordered coffee and a single pancake and an order of bacon. My son had a half order French toast and coffee with one side bacon. The pancakes took about 20 minutes to come, and I think they were sitting there that long B were taken out. Stone cold. Wouldn't even melt the butter. So I asked if they could throw them into the microwave and heat them up. I have an insult? As if she was insulted, I didn't want to eat cold pancakes. Coffee was also lukewarm, which was weird I thought. Anyway, the pancakes came back and they were hardly hot enough to melt the butter again, but I didn't want to heat it again. They were thin and tasted like cardboard. Pancakes are hard to cheat, but that was definitely in the lower level. My son? French toast looked good, but was also cold when he got it. It can be amazing, but breakfast sucked. My ticket was $21. I left the waitress $10 because the fight really is and went somewhere else to get some breakfast."

"Not my kind of place. The bar / tavern had screaming, loud customers on a day when there was no one around. Really a tasting menu, teen plate, teen servings, bad value for money. The waitress told me that the green peppers in my clam chowder were mild - they weren't and had to spit out with a burning mouth. Really embarrassing when I was treated. Instead, they gave me asparagus. Your only vegetable. They didn't notice that my water glass was empty and I had to request it. Backless benches to sit in the tavern / bar, but you can request an uncomfortable chair. Not a place where you eat a lot of healthy protein and vegetables like me. I don't like leaving a restaurant where I feel bloated with too much food, but I don't want to go hungry either. The coffee was good after the meal."

"We have been fans of All Day Baby since its introduction. The Breakfast/Lunch was always more special than dinner. WOW. Creating Tet a Tet for dinner is genius. The food is outstanding! We had the Crispy Imperial Rolls, Oxtail Stew, and the Fried Whole Huachinago. That oxtail was off the chain good like Pho, the broth was SO good...we wanted twice as much. And the blend of surprising flavors. Fusion at its best. The fish is a work of art. I will say, the spice sneaks up on you. Oh, and the cocktail menu is equally fresh and surprising. Note that you can spend some here if you're adding cocktails and dessert, but it's money well spent."

"I highly recommend this restaurant! It’s my go-to spot for breakfast, where they not only serve alcohol but have a diverse menu as well. I want to give a special shout-out to an exceptional server named Beth. Today, she handled a difficult customer with such grace and professionalism. I’ve been served by her 10 to 20 times, and she’s always fantastic! There are several great servers here, and I wish I knew all their names because they always recognize me and treat me wonderfully each time I visit. I've also observed their interactions with other guests, and I've never had any complaints, just the usual minor issues. Remember, we’re all human, so let’s treat each other with kindness. Beth truly shines, so thank you!"

"Incredible food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere with lovely music. I visited during happy hour for lunch, and the price per person was between $10 and $20. Everything earned a top rating: the food was a 5, the service was a 5, and the atmosphere also received a 5. I highly recommend trying the Grouper Cheeks and Crab Dip. Plus, there’s plenty of parking available, with a free parking lot on site."

She came from the back, I explained that I was disappointed with it and why. I showed her the pic from her menu and she said the pictures are only suggestions. What?! YOUR pics in YOUR menu are suggestions? Well, I would suggest you make something that looks like that.Basically, it was a frozen patty on two huge slices of rye with the bacon I added and a slice of Swiss cheese. Bottom of the bread was soggy (dark brown in the pics).You can see for yourself the pics vs the menu Pic.She offered something else, but they were kind of busy and I didn 't want my new food coming out after my wife was done hersGot the check and they neither discounted nor removed the unacceptable food that I didn 't eat. When I went to the register, I asked and they got someone else from the back.To him I explained as well and he told me it was my opinion that it looked nothing like the pics. Lol. I offered to pay for a side of fries because I ate the fries while waiting, but did not wish to pay for the subpar food I did not eat. He did take the whole thing off, be he was not happy.Just honestly poor attitudes when I brought this too them. "We went here for breakfast and I quite liked my meal, the tofu scramble. Unfortunately the grits I got as part of the meal had cheese, as I mistakenly assumed a menu item marked vegan would fully meet that description, sides included. I asked the server after getting my food and they confirmed mine came with cheese, BUT you can order them without it. You could also get a side of potatoes instead. If you are eating vegan here I would be very clear and careful when ordering to avoid this. It looks from other reviews like other diners here have similar stories (like another reviewer, my toast also came with a wrapped pat of real butter, if you want to avoid that)."
